Hi everyone. My name is Sinneth. I am a single mom of two girls. My channel is dedicated to showing how I travel on a budget or cheap as a single parent with my girls.
This video shows a quick look into our real life grocery shopping experience in Pula, Croatia. As a budget travel family, we try to save money on food by purchasing breakfast items and snacks for the kids. When we begin to miss our home cooked food, I usually buy a few items to cook for dinner. The total cost of this shopping event was about $91. This lasted about 1 week. We still had a few items left over.

While in Croatia you should definitely try some local brands since Croatia has extensive and high quality food production! These are only some major, larger companies that produce sweets like chocolates, cookies and other things -Kraš, Zvečevo, Kandit and Koestilin! Kraš has some amazing stuff like Bajadera and Griotte, Zvečevo has Mikado - so delicious chocolate with rice and so on...
There are many more larger food companies that are producing other foodstuff like Podravka (very wide list of products from frozen vegetables, ready-made meals, spreads, instant soups, vegeta...), Ledo (probably best ice creams in the universe, frozen food...), Dukat, Vindija, Zdenka, Belje and some more (milk and various cheeses, cheese spreads...), Gavrilović and Pik (sausages, salami, spreads, meat...).
And these are only some major companies while there's huge number of local companies, small family producers ...
Croatia also has many premium producers of organic and traditional foods like top quality cheese from island of Pag, various other traditional cheeses, spicy sausages called Kulen and Kulenova seka from region of Slavonia and Baranja, premium quality virgin oil from Istria and Dalmatia, Dalmatian pršut (domestic variation of prosciutto), list goes on and on...
It would be sin if you don't try some dark and white wines from various Croatian regions, many of which that have international reputation for its top quality: Dingač, Pošip, Graševina, Žlahtina from Vrbnik, Malvazija from Istria, Plavac mali, Babić, Traminac, Frankovka...
Croatia has extremely long tradition of production of wines that spans well over 2000 years!
One interesting fact: very famous Californian Zinfandel has it's ancestry in old Croatian grape varieties which has been proven by international top experts in recent years!
