- A quick look around the interior of the big Mercedes Actros.
This vehicle is quite rare as it's a 18 tonne rigid with the big cab normally found on the tractor unit.

Always thought they looked a fantastic unit. Once I was in a Merc truck dealership and they had a fully loaded unit and the price new was £166k, astonishing. Glad to see another video as well, Andy.

18 ton actros, now i have seen everything, here in Australia this would be a distant dream with all the hino’s and isuzu’s that we have we’re up in anty when we get a daf lf yes a daf lf or an iveco stralis that’s an 18 tonner
Best truck for me was the Scania. The second steer gave more stability on wet/icy roads, where the Merc wanted to slide into a all wheel drift. You can beat litres for pull. The old EC14 at 500hp was awesome and economic.

Those two cup holders in the middle are too low as can't put a cup of coffee in either of those and drive as coffee cup and coffee go everywhere
Not too many drivers are lucky enough to have a cab like that. I'm driving one of the new Scania, very driver unfriendly.
Especially trying to sort the bed out, it's like a jigsaw in a Scania...
Nice vehicle to drive and that but shame about the gearbox. Very slow to change gear or can't make it mind up.
I normally drive it in manual mode so I am always in control of the gears !
i was going too say the same we mainly use the 1827 bit sluggish and gearbox is shocking in auto, but then we have 2543 too that gearbox is spot on no issues
How the hell you can truck with 330 hp
330 is more than enough for an 18 tonner (18,000kg) !
Most 18 tonners are between 210 - 280 hp.
