So my wife just came back to Miami from Jamaica with some breadfruits. One of them was ripened soft, so we debated about throwing it away. She decided to peel it and mash the fruit like butter. We baked it on a cookie sheet and cut into squares. I took 5 squares and fried them for breakfast the next morning. They were so good. My new favorite way of enjoying breadfruit.
If it anyway I'm going to try using a ripe breadfruit it'll have to be your way .. I was quite prepared to throw it out .. I only bought it yesterday with the intention of making oven roasted chips .. It was green and hard . Low and behold . I saw the thing dark and soft after one day .. I was so upset . 😤 Waste of money .. Anyway, I peeled it and stuck in the refrigerator .. and decided to search out YT on what can be done about a ripe breadfruit other than dumping it .. So thanks Sir, I'll certainly explore your way.
Hi, I'm here from Quang Trans channel. I read your comment and wanted to check you out. Plus, you are very attractive. I have never heard of breadfruit, now I want to try some. You have a new subscriber. I'm going to benge watch a few of your videos now.😍😁
I did this recipe 7 years ago, and it was a hit, with cod fish and Tamarind sauce as dipping. The difference is, I didn't stuff it, I incorporated everything together and I used fresh herbs. No dairy products ,I am Vegan and I call them Breadfruit Fish Balls, I am from Barbados. It's one of my MOST popular dishes when going out. And I also do it in a pie
I'm from PR thank you for this. My mom moved out and now I'm on my own and I want to make her proud when she comes back. Thank you I hope this helps me out in the kitchen as it is doing now!!
I love breadfruit. We have this fruit in my country. We scrape it first before we boil it. We can add coconut cream to it too. We also baked it. This is cool to learn how other cultures is cooking it. Thank you for sharing this. Keep it up. By the way i'm polynesian. Have a nice day. 😁
I have 4 breadfruit trees and this year ALL of them are fruiting so this recipe really helps to change up how we normally eat it. Thank you for sharing.
Ce konsa'm rinmin lame veritable la bien jaune.Ca me donne de l'eau a la bouche.I live in the midwest i can't fine any bread fruit but i love it so much .thank you for the recipe
Woow here in San Andrés Isla. We have the biggest breadfruit of the Caribbean... They are very bigs... I never do that's breadfruit balls.. I gona traiyet... Thanks...
Tried this today. I used ground turkey for the stuffing. It was amazing! Will do this again...soon! Need to figure out how to get them to stay firm and crunchy. Once they cooled, they got soft n a little soggy. But otherwise, tasty!!!!
The overripe one makes a great punch or I use it to make breadfruit dumplings. They are very sweet so you can't have a lot if you are diabetic but It's absolutely yummy.
There are so many ways of cooking breadfruit in Sri lanka. We can make into chips savory or sweet. (Savory with chilies and sweet with dipping fried chips in sugar syrup -later is my favorite though) . That is one way, when in abundance. Can also make into a curry with spinach leaves to be eaten with steamed rice(so yummy it's a rice puller, Ill tell u😋) And also can eat it boiled, cutting into chunks with grated coconut and lunu miris. Bread frut is considered quite heaty and some people avoid eating it very often. The reason for adding spinach is to counterbalance heatiness in breadfruit. Spinach has cooling properties like cucumbers.
One need to remember that some dishes way of being prepared varied fro region to region and even social states changes the way recipes are preps sometime.....That said, i'm going to do this next week, im from Guadeloupe.
I made dis today n it was absolutely amazing n delicious...but instead of using d flour to prevent it from sticking to ur hands i used water n it wrked out way better for me
Thats an interesting way of doing it. We made boullete growing up. But we used the the breadfruit as the binding agent like breadcrumbs and just made meatballs

Can you cook the mushy one, or should they be thrown away. I need to get a breadfruit that is not over-ripe to try this recipe! I just subscribed and would love more breadfruit recipes!
+Listha Telisme yes I'm back from on I will be uploading every Sunday. and I also uploaded a Tchaka video before this video of you have please check it out and share please thank you
I love your food! I've made some already and is good. Only one thing throw me off; the direct contact of long painted nails with the food. this is an observation not a criticism.my best wishes to you!
Please low down the music in the background, very distracting and takes away from what you are saying. Suggestion only. All in all great video, looking forward to a lot more. 👍👍👍.
I guess it could be done if you need to avoid too much oil. I would suggest you rub with olive oil before you bake and use a bit more flour with baking powder added to get it crusty.
+Thanks for sharing your recipe. I will try it. Looks very appetizing; but on the other hand, it grosses me out to see all these long: and fake nails in the KITCHEN.🇹🇹
On the contrary, I appreciate her speaking English because many islands in the caribbean and around the world do not speak creole per se, not to mention the differences between the creoles. I'm from St Martin, créole is not an issue for me, neither is Spanish but I saw in the comments people from Polynesia, the Mauritius, Puerto Rico, etc.. I believe it's helpful and accessible to them. When I research tropical foods and plants, i stumble on interesting stuff from around the world but fail to understand what they say despite speaking 4 languages.
SpArTa tDoN I don’t wear nails but all the other women who do what are they supposed to do...not cook the whole time they have it on???? Not feed themselves or their family???

Great! You fried the breadfruit and you could also make the breadfruit balls, the pie and breadfruit salad even if it's ripe👍
That's great
