- My blind commentary reaction to Episode 9 of Season 5 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Slice of Life
So here it is... the big 100th episode. Commence the pandering (seriously though, it was fun).
Hope you like the commentary. Let me know if you do.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the work of Hasbro and DHX. My Little Pony and all related characters belong to Hasbro. I own only my voice. - Zábava
Bon Bon being an agent would explain her multiple voices. XD
TheEpicHacker96 It's James Bon Bon.
TheEpicHacker96 I still cant stop laughing at Lyra complaining not just because they were friends, but because they _sat_ next to each other all the time. Priceless
RavinKaito Despite the fact that in Lyra's most famous bench-sitting scene, where she sat like a human in Dragonshy, she was sitting beside SOMEONE ELSE.
img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111128194048/falloutequestria/images/d/d8/Lyra.png
Narrator007 I think my mind just exploded xD And I know I've rewatched that episode from reactors a ton of times too. _Could sitting next to Lyra be the perfect cover?_
Gearbox no its angent seewtie drop
And now Bon Bon's constant voice changes make sense. I wasn't expecting her to be an agent of all things. Her and Gummy's scene killed me. Also , there is a split second where you can see a small shark under the wub machine when it jumped in the air. They literally jumped the shark. I love puns, especially visual ones! All in all, a fun 100th episode. Even with the pandering, though that may have been the point.
Because it's not a good Wedding without a Changeling.
Schroedingers Cat I guess they just pointed out that Changelings were, in fact, background characters during the Season 2 finale. Kind of harsh, when you think about it...
The changeling was added because it was a favorite from the fandom, not that it was a backround character.
LunarSolstice 123 Oh, ok.
But it really seemed they were a background character. I mean, all the main focus was on Chrysalis, while her army took over Canterlot...
Also, as someone else pointed out, a Changeling was thrown inside a forest near Canterlot, which is to be assumed the Everfree Forest...
LunarSolstice 123 Oh, ok.
But it really seemed like they were background characters. I mean, all the focus was on Chrysalis, while her army took over Canterlot...
@@ChaosContrl Matilda invited him
Lyra's line about the oats: "I cooked them up and ate them!" is exactly the phrase Lyra uses in Ponies With Hats, re: Dan's hands.
Larson really went deep with the references.
redactedpony Oh, wow, you're right. That's hilarious. :D
RarityDash This episode is freaking amazing. :)
redactedpony Lyyrrraaaa!
I highly doubt it was a reference but just a common phrase.
@@EpicFableBean I am 99.997132% sure it was a reference.
This episode feels like the writers are saying, "Alright here, get all the fangasms out of your systems." XD!
LecLec Archie On the outside I'm like "Well that was pretty cool." Mean while on the inside I'm like 24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbybboWYly1qk3p7so1_250.gif
Ultrawolf563 lol i get it
***** That is the best way to interpret that.
Fuck you Mr. Colbert. >:(
Usagi1992 and now another metasode
This episode was balls to the wall crazy. Barely any of it made sense. And it was beautiful.
Lyra talking, Bon Bon a is an agent, Steven magnet was there, lebowski was there. Yup, this episode is the best.
David Peddle Cue all the animators shouting "See! See! We weren't just being lazy, there was a REASON for all those copies in the background!"
His canon name is "Letrotski".
Stan Knoops according to the credits he's Lebowski Pony, but in the Gameloft game, he's Latrotski.
Dulcet Tone My impression, is that there haven't been much Brony content on the Lebowski ponies, so why make them a noticeable part? I think it is because some of the staff also are fans of the show in a way ... and also fans of The Cohen Brothers (or at least Jeff Bridges, but I do think it is the Cohens).
RubberyCat
Even so, I would think they'd take the opportunity to use established canon. Jeff Latrotski is an official name in the Gameloft game, as is Bon Bon and Lyra. In fact, in Party Pooped, Bon Bon and Lyra are playing with the exact same ball as in the ball bounce minigame, so its not like the animation staff is unaware.
18:14 The exact moment the episode literally jumped the shark.
Princess Luna I was actually thinking about that in that moment even without having seen the actual shark there.
***** There is a stuffed shark on the ground. Octavia and Vinyl jump over it. That's how.
Why exactly should I shut up?
Princess Luna You rekt him XD
***** That's only your interpretation of what I said. It's not my fault that you came to a different conclusion than what I was intending.
The fact of the matter is the "jumping the shark" is an overused trope (especially with this show). I was simply pointing out the moment the show made fun of that. You may note that I said "literally". I don't use that word in a metaphorical sense. I did mean literally.
Just to be clear here. I did really enjoy this episode, but what if I didn't? What you're saying is that I am not entitled to a different opinion from your own. That I should, as you say, "shut up" if I don't comply to your standards.
Princess Luna Logic vs. ignorance, who will winnnnn
"Why is a changeling there?" Well, to feed off the love that's in the air, I suppose. ^^
Shritistrang Well... yeah, but it seems kind of weird they'd let one in. :D
RarityDash
Maybe not all changelings are followers of Queen Chrysalis.
maybe the changeling asked politely?
Yea the changeling was just hungry that's all, it's a hard day when living in the changeling kingdom :)
Thorax??
I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS. AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!
Not gonna lie, I think the part that really threw me for a loop was Gummy's inner monologue. It's at that point that I paused the episode and walked out of my room for a few minutes. The references and nods to the fandom just kept escalating that I honestly wondered when it would end.
For real though I think the part that stood out to me the most was Celestia and Luna's interactions with one another. While it was brief it really does make me wish we could get an episode dedicated to just the Princesses
MyNamesNotKim Yeah, I'd love to see a princess episode too. That would be great. At the very least I hope we get to see more little moments featuring them like that.
at 19:09, there is a picture of guys with horses mask IRL.
WTF did they smoke during this episode ? !!
Isenlyn - The Frenchy Brony LOL, I saw something strange too when I was watching the episode this morning. Great find!
Probably every drug in existence.
Isenlyn - The Frenchy Brony That was the crew who put together the episode.
Isenlyn - The Frenchy Brony i didn't notice that til i saw Atticus noticing it.
Isenlyn - The Frenchy Brony XD
Also while this is a special treat that's very direct to the fandom, they give a very good message behind it about how the main stars aren't the only interesting and important ones ^_^
Sensory overload:
Derpy
The Doctor + scarfe + Rose
The Dude
Lyra and Bonbon shipping
Vynil andd Octavia roommates
Lyras bench-sitting
Steven Magnet
Button Mash
Twicane
May Payne Gummy
Randon Changeling
10/10 It´s OK!!
But one Important part was missing!!!!!!!!!
It needed more Fallout!!!!!!!!!
A wedding needs Queen Whiskey.
And it needs Little Pip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And no event is perfect without Velvet Remidy singing!!!!
We also needed DJ Pone3 for the music.
Zafran Orbian they are now only best friends its cannon deal with it
Lyra bonbon or Octavia vynil? Because Lyra Bonnon had some extreme shipping hints there, though I don't mind however it was supposed to be interpreted
dinosaur productions They never specified whether their friendship came with or without benefits.
Dude, that's not all! At 19:09, if you pause at the right time, they have live action dudes with horse heads. No joke.
I know though ir's kind of creepy if you see it the first time.
20:58 ... I just got the ponies with hats reference XD
Night Star im so glad i wasnt the only one that spotted that
XDDDD
Night Star I wonder... Since they were "special imported" and bonbon is an agent... could they have been...
_real hands_? o_o
Same XD
I highly doubt it was reference to the video. Its a very common phrase
I cant get over how fucking adorable derpy is anyone else
Muffin ^^
Regarding the Doctor- he was always intended as a Doctor Who reference since the beginning, long before the fandom picked up on it. There are countless interviews with show staff where they mention it. It would have been more unusual for them not to run with it in this episode. The fan reference here is him working with Derpy.
Personally, I loved how over the top the pandering was, it made it quite humourous
imagine Matilda changing in to Chrysalis
FINALLY WE GET TO SEE CELESTIA AND LUNA BONDING! Also, so many ships! The only thing it missed was Vinyl talking... This was the first episode that I fangirled to, and I don't even care for most fandom characters.
Found it funny when I saw how Lyra was sitting
Trustworthy Face d
Screw the whiners! This episode was very enjoyable!
That bear is the pandering and the main 6 represents the writers trying to hold it off.
Don't you mean the "panda-ring"
Conlan Kroes I thought that was the whole reason for the coloration of the bear part of that bugbear.
Narrator007
The bear part of it was black and white. I don't really know how the color references us, unless im missing something...
***** Because he looks like a panda and there's a ring on him.
I to say, I did enjoy this episode, at first I was bit off (I guess it because it wasn't focused on the main 6), but I love the cameos and it was pretty funny. plus I did feel like the ponies were more their own characters and not fan made so I liked that and I knew it had to m.a. Larson (I didn't who made it) because only he could make something like this, it was a great episode to me :) and great reaction video
p.s. I now know he trolling us with the Lyra and bon bon being "friends"
fireskull72 I can hardly wait to see his panel from the live screening of that episode.
This is the first thing in anything MLP (episode or fan work) that has literally made my mind blown. My very thought process exploded from everything in the episode and I LOVE IT!!!
What a great and hilarious episode haha loved it and enjoyed the reaction as well
Zach The Reviewer Thanks! :)
did anyone realize how lyra was siting? alsoy the mayor just said "is not only the main character of our stories that matters so much".. yeah this the best episode ^^
don't ya love inside jokes?
Here is something we can agree on: this will be put in the top ten episodes of MLP, and in one way or another writers can be trolls if they want to. I was all 'what the freak?' when Gummy's part came. He was deep though.
Loved this so much ^^
dear lord i love your laugh
I also don't understand what's wrong with pandering lol
I like it. I enjoy seeing that the company actually cares about its viewers and acknowledging their existence. Not asking for them to start making every pony a couple or even drop a FoE episode but just these small references that fans would know feels epic.
Aryanne Berlin My problem isn't so much with the pandering in and of itself, but more with the fan reaction it sometimes get. It can feed into the more self-important attitudes out there.
I think it's mostly just memories over that whole Derpy situation back in season two and the uglier attitudes which surfaced from some fans there. I don't know. This was a fun episode regardless of anything else.
RarityDash You'll get those kinds of fans anywhere. Those that believe that their headcanons are Gods before DHX and that Hasbro has to animate them or be boycotted. As you can see, DHX is being a bit rough on those. Lyra and Bonbon best friends. Vinyl not having a voice and Derpy not even having her name anymore. It's certainly pandering with caution.
I'm just glad you enjoyed it. Seemed like you weren't enjoying it and I even thought you were rolling your eyes at the episode for its blatant pandering. It's kinda thick in some parts but I love these kinds of episodes.
Aryanne Berlin
A fair enough point for sure. It's probably better I just ignore those kinds of attitudes.
It felt like I wasn't enjoying it though?. I thought I was laughing a lot in there.. I probably rolled my eyes at maybe a couple things, but I was having fun almost the whole time while watching.
U again. Well met.
Sabre Cat Ayyyy
This episode was the best birthday present ever!
Every reaction of this episode... Priceless!!!
God damn, that was a whole hell of a lot they shoved into that one. Easily one of the most entertaining episodes.
I fucking love how oblivious all of the ponies are to the Bugbear.
Basically headcanon confirmed right there.
"What did you expect? Bugbear?"
I also totally smashed my hand into the table at Gummy. Holy fuck yes. This reminds me of something Wacarb would do tbh.
***** Yes. Gummy was just so weird and random. I can totally see a gag like that being used in something like UFP.
RarityDash Yeah! It also pleased me because it is yet ANOTHER headcanon of mine ... mostly sarcastically, but this was still beautiful!
Too much fanservice in this episode for me tho, I feel like some scenes were TOO MUCH, but hey, they handled it a lot better than I feared they would've :3
***** Yeah, as I said I was a bit worried myself, but I think it turned out pretty fun all things considered.
Fun is a good word, but with the return of Steven Magnet, I think M.A. Larson might just have earned my heart. All things considered :3
*cough* Not that he didn't already own it. *cough*
***** Fun fact, M.A. Larson has had Steven Magnet written into every single script he's ever turned in. This was the first time he got to keep him in.
19:53 I guess you could say they ROYALLY screwed up. //shot
I've said this before, and I'll say it again. The episode should've been called Fanservice
This is my favorite episode by far. All the fan service was nice. And the fact that changelings can still kind of be accepted is so cool since my friends has a changeling OC. Such a great episode.
Changeling OC'S are real YESS
Jose Ovalle Changlings roaming free would explain why there always seems to be multiples of the same background ponies in different places at the same time.
Maybe or they just like the people of ponyville and was he/she sitting in the child section so it's a kid
Jose Ovalle where was that at?! i didnt see it
22dragons28 In the wedding ceremony there will be scared foals hudled up the a changeling sitting next to the.
Jose Ovalle You know I was getting a strong feeling that it was Wubzy from a fanfic of Vinyl Scratch.
This episode is just like a THANKS for the Fandom ! Omg i am so proud to be one of you all guys
This episode lol. The pandering was REAL, but appreciated. I never felt like the BG ponies had much of a personality, and so i could never really get attached to them the way others could. I never attached fan-made trivia to the show's actual canon, so the BG ponies were pretty bland. While this was pandering, it gave me some canon material to chew on, and in the process made the BG ponies much more memorable.
19:08 When you see it...
7:15 Jon Pertwee's Coat
21:28 Tom Baker's Scarf
21:38 David Tennant's Allons-y
References...References everywhere
this episode... i loved it, everything about it was perfect in my eyes, i mean all the characters were really great,
i loved Vinyl and Octavia's music combo, it was lovely,
Bon Bon and Lyra were great, love what they did there,
and who side was the changeling with, bride or groom?
and Derpy, i REALLY LOVE WHAT THEY DID TO HER, i mean they gave her a better voice and probably the biggest role in this episode, i hope they will do more with her in the future, but that maybe asking too much,
anyway great reaction dude, really enjoyed
SuperGodzilla2 Thanks! This episode really was a ton of fun.
RarityDash agreed
James BON BOND 007
XD
You know I just recognized, when Vinyl storms out with that stereo mobile, the song sequence played is actually that of the troll song.
19:09 hidden frames. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Has anybody seen the Horseheads at 19:08 or so?
I'm freaking out XD
Yeah it's in the episode
Three things people may not have noticed:
1.) The symbol on Bon Bon's suitcase is the SAME as the one on Daring Do's book- let that sink in.
2.) Vinyl and Octavia literally "jump the shark". Don't believe me? Go back and look for yourself.
3.) The remix dubstep is "Flight of the Bumblebee"- fitting seeing as the monster is part bee.
This episode has the biggest collection of fan-fics ever in 1 episode
i'm glad i found a reactor that had a proper reaction to the lebowski reference
Rey Cabato Heh. It's one of my favorite films.
"M A Larson's never written anything bad"
Someone's forgetting the crime against storytelling that was MMC!
This episode redeemed him in my eyes though.
Antroid MMC is one of my favorite episodes.
RarityDash Surely you can't claim that it was written well. Everyone I've ever seen loving MMC mostly did so because they were emotionally affected by it (with the help of Celestia's ballad or the other songs, usually), not because it was written well in general.
It has such glaring problems that it's not even funny.
Antroid
I think it's written fine. it tells a complete, compact story mostly through music, which is perfectly fine with me.
RarityDash "Compact" is right. It doesn't tell anything you wouldn't have been able to read in an episode synopsis. That's my problem with it. There's so many vital questions completely ignored (like about the actual functionality of the spell Twi made, or what Starswirl was intending it to be, or if anypony else in town could tell that the CMs were switched, etc), there's Twilight's "their true selves have been altered" when it's pretty openly just their memories - which she denied (plus her explanation of what she wanted to do to fix it was super janky and awfully worded), there's the fact that Rarity's and RD's cutie marks don't actually mean the things they were doing in the episode, there's a complete lack of beliveable reactions from anyone to anything, most of all the mane6's to Twilight's alicornhood (they just basically shrugged at it as if it was no biggie)...
"The cutie marks have been switched, Twilight is sad, Twilight fixes it based on a shot in the dark guess, Twilight makes a new spell, Twilight is now a princess" is not a complete story. And the episode is pretty much that + songs, which apparently manage to hide from many people just how absolutely barebones and hole-ridden the episode is.
Antroid
I'm not really interested in arguing the point since really it's a matter of opinion.
All it comes down to really is that I don't personally care about those things and don't feel the lack of explanation when it comes to them is a fault. It's simply not important to me. Time spent on exposition would detract from the greater picture of it, which yes, to me does feel like a complete story even if it can be explained in simple terms ( so can essentially any episode)
Our fandom dreams have come true thanks to Hasbro. I was laughing mostly because of how much Hasbro went into the entire fandom. We see Octavia and Vinyl's argument for beginners, then trues into a duel. We also see Button Mash, I was thrilled to see him. At prior to the end, we see a Changling, Their cannon now?! Now their cannon?! SERIOUSLY, YOU COULDN'T MAKE THEM CANNON IN SEASON 3?!
After the entire episode, I was just like. "What was that? I mean seriously though it was funny, astonishing and hilarious. Great job, Hasbro!"
They really jumped the shark on this one. you want proof? 18:14
BTW, funny little thing that was pointed out to me about the Lebowski ponies. Notice how after the bowling alley scenes, the Donny pony isn't actually at the wedding, only Walter and The Dude are. And not only that, but at the wedding the Walter pony is carrying what looks like a coffee can. If you've seen the Big Lebowski, you might understand the rather unfortunate implications there...
Michael Welsh oh, wow... I didn't notice that. That's some rather subtle dark humor there on the part of the animators. Love it. :D
Porfin no pude esperar este episodio
I haven't gotten to your actual reaction yet, I've just listened to the prologue and your concerns. And to be honest, I couldn't agree with you more. While I did enjoy this episode, I do agree that this sort of blatant pandering towards the, as you called them, "entitlement" parts of the fan base is VERY risky, and this episode is 22 minutes of pandering and making official all of these "accepted" fanfics, shippings, and head canons. It runs the risk of making the fans feel some sort of ownership towards the property, which is something that many already do. And they DON'T own anything, and they aren't entitled to anything. This fandom has gotten a bit too into themselves the last 2 years, and it is starting to get at me.
megatron1384 Yeah. Totally in agreement. I really enjoyed this episode, as you'll find out watching the reaction--it was a joy to watch and I think the show crew did an excellent job of approaching fan elements in the right way and just having fun with it all... but I can't help but still kind of get the feeling that there are elements of the fandom who will take it the wrong way and just see it as validation for their already inflated sense of self-importance.
I think your feeling is obviously gonna be correct. I saw a similar thing with the end of Legend of Korra with how fans reacted. While I liked that as well, and actually thought it was a possibility from season 2 of that show, the same kind of thing happened. People who wanted it to go that way were rather... pleased with themselves for it; as it they had some sort of effect on the outcome. It certainly is something to be concerned about, and while it was fun, I would warn the crew of MLP to NOT be so eager to indulge the fandom like this too often. The old "don't feed the bears" situation
megatron1384 Interesting. I watched and loved Legend of Korra, but I never paid a bit of attention to the fandom. The series ending, it absolutely thrilled me since it was what I had wanted to happen really since season one... but to assume the attitude that we as fans are responsible for the choices the writers have made is pretty ridiculous.
In this case it's clear that the episode was rather influenced by fans, which yeah, I'm not sure was the best call on Hasbro's part (someone else told me it was Hasbro's decision to treat the fans like this and not even Larson was a fan of the idea). We'll see what happens I guess.
Not that surprising if it's true
RarityDash You sound like cobaltsky
Derpy works in the post office, if you watch the episode "Raider's of the lost Mark" as the CMC sing the last song (after getting the Cutie Marks) you see Derpy in a blue vest and hat above them, she looks like she handed a letter to another pony before flying closer (above) the CMC
I loved this episode, it was pandering of the best kind, where the writers know exactly how seriously to take the idea. If I were to guess the only directives other than "have fun" was to not use names at all unless they have to, even the use of "doctor" could be argued to just be a title/job rather than a proper name. All that said the argument between the princesses was my favorite part, it is so nice to see them out of the regalia, away from the guards and just having the kind of argument any siblings could at a wedding over a mixup on the gift. It is why I like well written Celestia/Luna slice of life stories, we so rarely get to see them just being sisters.
Probably my most favorite episode.
"It's not just the main characters in our stories that make life so rich, It's everypony. Those who play big parts, and those who play small parts."
I really love this line
Great episode ever :D
with a great commentary!
did you notice that in 19:09 there was an image of people wearing horse masks? xD
RaulixLopezMC ♦Gameplays y Reacciones!♦ ha. nice. the thing they slip in there... :D
14:11 i love how dash is just like *boop* boop*
No doubt about it, this was my favorite episode to date!
Can I just say that I love your laugh?
Only missed Discord here, but well... Awesome episode.
Final thoughts: My favorite parts were Gummy being deep, Special Agent Sweetie Drops, the Lebowski ponies, arguing Princesses and the glorious return of Steven Magnet.
The Dr, Who references were a little much, and Crying Armor was somewhat offputting.
Otherwise, everything else was fun, overall a very good episode.
THEY'RE THROWING PANDAS AT US~!
BronyBass Panda bugbears, even. Seriously, check out that black-and-white color scheme!
BronyBass "Gummy being deep"
Reminds me of a certain Fan Animation going by a similar name...
Narrator007 don't forget the stinger for the haters XD
What a nice reaction.
I love this episode.
Also, "I cooked them up and ate them". A nice Llamas with Hats reference and a stealth hand joke.
I can't belive this was 6 years ago now
Ik makes me feel old
This was the best fan based episode EVER!
Oh, forgot to say, I really enjoyed the commentary! =o)
Timmo Warner Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
this is great
What's best about this is that there's been a character in Doctor Who for a few years who goes by the name "Me"
I usually have a problem with to much pandering (btw, am i the only one who thinks that the bugbear looks like a panda?). But it is the 100th episode, they are traditionaly more a celebration of fandoms and the show without taking itself to serious (i point at the 100th episode of Sargate as a example). So I have no problem in this episode with it. Specialy becaus it has that sureal funny touch and it is not a smiple chain of Memes, there are a lot of things that are different takes on Memes or are somthing without "Fandombacking". All in all just a fun episode that takes itself not to serious.
A Meier With as much attention to detail as the staff puts into this show, I'm pretty sure that the panda coloration of that bugbear was not merely coincidence.
MY BODY IS READY FOR EPISODE 100 i hope other people's bodies are!
Might be worth you watching ACRacebests convention vlog, "M.A. Larsons deconstruction of Episode 100" quite an interesting insight into how Hasbro, DHX and the writers made the episode and what didn't make it in. Not sure if it is reaction worthy since it is literally a video of a convention panel with Larson at MLP:MSP.
Painis Cupcake I actually watched that yesterday. :D
it provided some great insight indeed, but yeah, probably wouldn't have made for an especially great reaction.
Celebrity bowling team: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steven Buscemi, and David Tennant.
this is so classic and full of wtf n a good way
Iv read a Doctor Who/MLP fanfic last year and it was about Derpy meeting the Doctor and when this episode featured Derpy talking to a stallion about time travel I was fanboying. :)
I was very shocked when doctor talked and derpy was so adorable gummy was so funny and i laughed so freaking hard
If u noticed this ep showed off all of the background characters and the mane 6 were now background that's cool for the 100th ep.
I've been meaning to say this for a while now, but i love your OC's design.
Diddly Doo Thanks! :)
if you're wondering where the changeling came from I have a theory that cranky met with him while he was traveling. If you recall at the end of season 2 when the changelings were blasted away one of them landed in the forest instead of the badlands. This means the season finale would have to happen before a friend in deed, but there was a moment in dragon quest where spike was on a raft with cranky. its a weird theory but it would explain why he was there(im spreading this theory around so if you see it someplace else that's why)
That changeling is nice
(At 11:42) fan couples 1. Lyra Heartstrings and Bon Bon, canon (plus I finally get to hear what Lyra sounds like).
(At 16:21) fan couples 2. Octavia Melody and DJ Pon-3/Vinyl Scratch, canon.
Secret Agent Sweetie Drop....
Wow.
CrazyChippy lol really putting the fandom to their toes
DOCTOR WHOOVES!!! YAAAAAAAAAAASSS!!!!! The moment when he said Allon-si, I screamed, literally!!!
allons-y i think'
rainbowdash as lyra perfect
This episode was my favorite from season 5, hopefully we get more episodes like that :3
The best episode!!!! But now i have a fear of bon bon
Gummy gets me
It's easy to miss because it's so brief, but when Vinyl and Tavi first start rolling down the streets, they leap over a stuffed toy shark. Thus, if anyone says the show has jumped the shark with this episode, they're technically not wrong.
There was a split second, where Octavia and Vinyl, riding the speakers and DJ table... jump over a shark plushie XD (it's right near the beginning of that sequence) right about 18:14 or so in this... you can also see the plushie at about 18:17, for a split second. )
13:05 i recognise that roar. I think it's the Sound of the Cyclops from Titan Quest.
i just realized that vynl took him to the bowling alley because he made a circle gesture for a bowling ball.
Honestly, I thought it was the perfect amount of fan pandering. What was most important to me was that there was a central episode to the whole thing, and Cranky and Matilda's wedding was the perfect idea for it. Honestly felt like one of those episodes that could've been a one-part season finale.
PieDislikerSwag Yeah. I'd say it was about right. There was definitely a potential for disaster here, but I think Larson and everyone else involved went about it in exactly the right way and just had fun with it. I've been enjoying the episode more each time I see it. :D
love the intro
Great episode to MLP
when doctor whooves said he experienced a dramatic experience as a foe he was talking about the rainboom that rainbow dash did when she was a filly
