The sarangi alaap piece at the outset is predominantly KAIRANI. Koshki's alaap materially differs. When it ends, sarangi repeats Kairani!!!! Can someone say on what raga this composition is based, or BGAK has left an artistic ambiguity for all times to come. Momin's ghazal was composed and sung by BGAK's brother. Ghulam Ali re-sung it.
Barkat Ali Khan sahab used to sing this as a thumri composed on bhairavi. Here, Kaushiki ji seems to be using a mix of yaman and bihaag. I thought I recognized a touch of bilawal also around 5:22 but I am not sure about this.
