If you have both as ship, then just focus on the upside down one, because dual ship weight and physics are based off of the upside down ship physics, this tip made me way better at dual ship.
ship physics get fucked up when its in a dual for some reason. i guess its for any bugs with ship duals in levels, maybe to stabilize when one hits a block and the other doesn't
It’s because upside down ship physics are different from right side up ships, and since both are on screen the game uses the upside down ships’s physics for both ships, making the rightside up one feel extremely heavy. Just a little fun fact :)
Yeah ship is heavier in upgravity, i think rob made it like this because he thought reverse ship was too hard? obviously in dual mode both ships need to have the same physics, so he went with the upgravity weight on both ships (again, he probably figured a heavier ship is easier to control)
Anti gravity ship is heavier than normal gravity ship. In order to make symmetrical dual ships stay symmetrical, Rob made it so that both ships take the weight of the anti gravity ship. It would be tricky fixing this and normalizing the weight of ships I think because fixing this might break some older levels.
