Absolutely. In those days videotapes were kept and re-used(taped over). There is virtually nothing out there from the ‘73 playoffs(not that I;ve seen).
@swami1 Game 1 is available of 1973 NLCS on CZcams. Seaver vs. Billingham. Rose ties game in 8th, but Bench's game winner was eaten up and ended up on Mets radio. That's the ONLY consistent footage of the series. There are snippets of moments from game 3 and 4 and the last out of game 5. What a tragic, shortsighted waste.
The A’s were so clutch in those years ....Didn’t really destroy the opposition , but they just knew how to win... they won a bunch of one run games in the postseason 1972 -1974
I was the same age back in 74, I have recollections and memories of that World Series, my dad is a hard-core Dodgers fan and I really remember his disappointment after the A's beat them.
@@MikerodRod I was five too and the Dodgers A's WS was the first I remember watching. I started my Topps collection the following season and two of my first cards were the 74 Dodgers Pirates NLCS and Dodgers A's WS commemorative cards.
Actually, in 1975, the Reds played game 1 in the afternoon, and in 1976, the Reds clinched an afternoon Tuesday game. Then, in 1978 NLCS, the Dodgers clinched a day game against the Phillies. Also, the Yankees and Royals played days games. In 79, the Reds and the Pirates played games 2 and 3 in the daytime, and the Angels and O's played games 2-4 in the daytime. You can look it up
All those classic names that later when I started following baseball, were playing on other teams.Lots of those Dodgers were still there and Reuss moved over from the Pirates to join the Dodgers!
this year1974 was the last before free agency so many of these players that were some of the best at that time left these teams for more money elsewhere.
An absolute crime all the MLB Divisional era Playoffs and World Series games were not pristinely preserved in color.

This was the first baseball postseason I watched. Simple best of five LCS and then the World Series. Four division champions everyone else goes home.
First I watched too (5 yrs old).

Clubhouse fights or not, The Oakland A's left it in the clubhouse when they stepped on the field.
Jerry Reuss pitching AGAINST the Dodgers?? He did end up wearing BLUE, and was one of our aces.
I was 5 yrs old
The only thing I knew about baseball back then was Reggie and the A’s

Reuss was like I need to join these guys lol Go Dodgers
Then throw a no-hitter!
Pitt dominated the NL east during the 70;s., and the football team didn't do too bad either.
The Dodgers and Reds did better.
If only the Orioles did not trade Frank Robinson kept him as DH The 0rioles would of played Mets in 73 and would of won again in74 as well
Their pitching was that good. But the A's were just a bit better
