As a dachshund dad, I'm sure that their hearing is so acute that they can hear the opening of the treat packet through at least 2 walls and a thunderstorm. My boy's favourite cause of barking is the cat who walks across the conservatory roof. Excellent watch dogs. Wouldn't be without them.
😂 I just have to say thank you for uploading this video. My dachshund gets overly excited, and once he starts barking at me, he doesn't stop. The moment he hears this, he stops and either walks away or falls asleep.

How nice that April gets to spend so much time with her brother Churro - and has someone to play with. They clearly enjoy being together so much. Lots of fun to see the two of them goofing around. My pups would do this from time to time; could be that they've heard something beyond our hearing range or just because it's time to bark. They can be incorrigible, but I miss hearing the stubborn little "Boof." of my dachsies. With the raised tail, your little red pup reminds me of my tweenie dachsie when he'd get excited... ❤️
Oh my god, “Boof” is the most accurate thing I’ve ever heard to describe that little huff they do if they’re about to bark or decide against full barking at something.

Tuve 6 dachshunds machos , no todos parientes, ahora sólo me quedan dos, sr y jr, sí que avisan ladrando si alguien osa pararse en la puerta, aunque no toque... pobre del que esté cerca pues los ladridos suenan como campanas, quedan retumbando los oídos....jeje Un vecino nos encargó su beagle y su ladrido es más bajo, no tan agudo ni sonoro como mis salchichas ... Qué bonitos ! Cuidelos mucho, no les gusta quedarse mucho tiempo solos...
The noise made by neighbours' barking dogs is a form of pollution which can be a major cause of stress. Dog owners would do well to consider the negative impact their dogs can have on other people.
Because of limited human hearing range... My dachshund hardly barks at home as there is hardly anything outside, but in my sister home in the middle of city...
They are so long to protect the ear ->from a gun shot damage... They are also able to hear sounds up to 45kHz so the owner often can't hear what they are barking at...
@@Bialy_1 Good points about their ears. We had 2 standards and lived in a pretty quiet area, so there wasn't so much barking, though our second one would occasionally.

Dogs hearing range is much wider than human...
They can hear up to 45000Hz and someone in your age can hear 10000Hz to max 12000Hz.
