From the Frontlines: Eritrean Soldiers Speak Out | EXCLUSIVE

  • For nearly two years, starting in November 2020, war raged in Ethiopia, throughout the regional states of Amhara, Tigray, Afar, and along the border with Eritrea. Ethiopia’s former ruling party, the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front, launched the war to not only take on their own government but also as a new front in their long-running effort to overthrow the Eritrean government. But little of the international commentary on the Ethiopian war has taken into account the Eritrean perspective, whose involvement was portrayed as “foreign meddling” and whose soldiers were accused of war crimes in the West. For the first time addressing an English-language outlet, Eritrean soldiers were interviewed by BT’s Eugene Puryear where they responded to the allegations.

"Eritrean women have always fought on the frontlines for the peace and freedom of Eritrea, being fully engaged in the struggle. We take pride in our history and the connectedness of the fight, not to lose our humanity. I wish for the Horn to become a peaceful region where we can all evolve as neighbors in harmony. Slowly, Africa is awakening and developing a strong consciousness."

Yeah but Many don’t want to be part of the military life anymore.
We are forced to do it.
The Women are forced just like the men.
It’s not with a passion like for the 30 year war of independence. People wanted to fight there.
Now it’s just like being a military slave. No thank you. All of that for no human rights domestically? Im not a slave.

Literally the leaders and the citizens of eritrea r together in one team basically we don't wanna be under the UN and that's the reason people, especially america, are trying to overshadow us president isias afwerki is a humble man love it or not this is a pure fact that even our somali and ethiopian fam noticed try to be more open and try to understand why the president does everything he is doing it ain't even harming anyone what r yal on?? If ur an actual eritrean u would notice that ur action shows that ur with tigray people and ur siding with them , and stop being a kid I ain't here to fight nor harm anyone with my words but seriously ur words r solid crap I actually can't believe that isias afwerki (eritrean president) had to see his own people hating on him while them leaving happily in a foreign country man said non all of his life lmao yal never lived in eritrea to know how it feels only the ones who lives there has the right to talk and many supports him the end of the discussion

In Eritrea lying is abhorrent, but in Tigray region of Ethiopian, lying is a prefect profession as they are puppets of the American led Western governments.
Eritreans fought for justice and freedom and they paid for it a dire prices for years. I think if the whole wide world knows about Eritrean"s history it can learn a lot of positive things. The Westerns' owned conglomerate corporate medias narrate unsubstantiated and baseless negative alegestions only.

Now imperialists accused amhara and Eritrean forces for protecting themselves from western lead tplf genocide and wide range of atrocities. They are just acting up because they lost everything they dreamed of. They were living in fantasy by believing America will help their dream of creating Greater Tigray by destroying and annexing Eritrea. Not only did they miscalculated their strength and relied on America to get involved military but most important they forgot it was EPLF (Eritrean people Liberation Front) that brought them to power in Ethiopia. I guess they believed their own propaganda and got themselves in a pickle. Now instead of questioning their leaders for losing over a million people in the senseless war, they are letting their frustration on the Eritrean diaspora. All they are doing is make the Eritrean people angry and forced to fight back.

Glory to Eritrea and these wonderful soldiers. Just one question: why just female soldiers’ perspectives? As a former soldier myself, I’d like to have seen a more comprehensive representation. Anyways, Eritrea is blessed with one of the best leaders in the world. The people of Eritrea must protect their president at all costs, because the demons of the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization, will certainly try to get rid of him one way or another. Wishing all the best for Eritrea. May GOD bless and protect President Afwerki.

Why does it matter their gender? If anything, empowering women to the point of being able to stand toe to toe with murderous men in combat is something to be celebrated.

There are two primary reasons to focus on women when one remembers this is primarily meant for a western audience. First, it disarms one of the most common western justifications for attacking a developing country, namely mistreatment or oppression of women. Showing clearly self-confident women in the military gives a strong counter narrative to that. Second, the claims or mass rape need to be attacked and if men are around when that is happening, a westerner might think the women are being forced to deny these claims by the men. Some westerners will think that's true regardless but showing these women speaking for themselves and in the confident natural ways that they do in this video helps convince more westerners.
So while I do hope that BT news is able to produce more talking about Eritrea with all genders, really talking to only women in this video was a clever way to disarm some of the most common and effective critiques that western imperialists like to use.

These soldiers are murderous, they destroyed Tigrayan towns and villages and committed massacres. Not to mention advocate for Isaias Afewerki's incompetence for the past 30 years and brutality, jeopardizing Eritrea's reputation and brain-draining it due to refugees and military conscription.

This was the missing link in the Tigray war! Well done! I always wondered how so much rape could take place by an army who has several female soldiers in it? Well, the truth is here!

    • @semha6348
      @semha6348 Před 10 měsíci

TPLF always accuses other parties for what they have done. Some years ago I also heard about r@pe allegations. But I also read, that Tigray people themselves said, that the r@pist were criminals from the Tigray ethnicity, who were in prison, but the TPLF let them all out in 2020 or 2021. And inside the Tigray region, there is a huge r@pe culture, and this already happened before the war started in 2020. Tigray women also demonstrated to make aware of the women who got r@ped from Tigray men, and not only from Tigray criminals, but also from Tigray authorities and other Tigray people.
TPLF always blames Eritrea for what they did, to not be held accountable for their own crimes.

It's actually more embarrassing that despite the Eritrean army containing thousands of women they still collectively do not see the humanity in women, especially women of non-Eritrean ethnicities. That is why the female soldiers didn't stop their male counterparts.

It's heartbreaking that we've reached a point where we harbor so much hatred for each other and remain trapped in the past. Our leaders have shown themselves to be shortsighted and self-serving, neglecting the well-being of the everyday people of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Their selfishness has shattered the potential for a normal relationship between our neighboring countries.
We need to rise above our egos and animosities. Cooperation is possible, and we don't need to love each other to achieve prosperity. In East Africa, we must unite to secure a better future for the next generation and to improve our current circumstances. Look at the European Union: despite their differences and occasional dislikes, they work together for mutual benefit.
Our inefficiency is like a broken marriage where both parties live under the same roof but lead separate, unhappy lives, wasting resources. Please, young generation, think rationally and don't repeat our mistakes. God bless.
