So this is where the tradition of rappers dissing each other originated. Lol.
RAP is short for Rhymes And Poems so yeah😂
Dissing is called Hijaa' هجاء in arabic
Rappers are the rubbish of society, coming from a person who used to listen to them. They have no eloquence or wisdom, just utter idiots throwing swears and threats.
The Arabic reverence of poetry intrigues me. Also, you are a natural storyteller.
During Arab weddings, these people have a custom that you and your male friends get together and grab your friends balls and shave him under force while everyone giggles and acts like its not gay.
Not even Arabic or Muslim but educational content, thank you, putting a comment for the algorithm of CZcams.

Poetry is such a joy.
Crafting art through words.
I heard this poet’s story many years ago and I thought about him yesterday. And suddenly CZcams recommends me this video.
Ma Shaa Allah! Your dexterity in both languages is appreciated.
Such a great video. Please bring more stories from Arabic civilization.
Interestingly Arabics and Pashtuns have many linguistic and civilizational similarities which I intend to bring forward in the future.
الحمد لله على نعمة الإسلام ❤
I knew that Arabic and Poetry went hand in hand… However i didnt know the extent of it.
Your analogy to today’s Social Media.. is perfect.. because even if times and technology change.. People are ALWAYS the same..
So, it seems, the Poets of Arabia and their Poetry, were something like today’s Clout Chasers, Influencers, Karens/Darens, Food/Restaurant Critics, Yelp!, Tweeter, YT, TikTok, the Internet and Hollywood, all rolled into one…
And the Quran came and Destroyed ALL that!!!
No wonder they thought it was performing “magic” on them.
Imagine if a Pure, True form of Media came along and was able to destroy the ENTIRELY CORRUPT MEDIA structure of the Evil Doers of this World!!
What would WE say??
Great video.. an Eye-Opener. Thank You very much, brother.
Peace.
Freedom of speech at its finest. To insult a tribe in amidst of their tribesmen without fearing any repercussions. This is the beauty and safety that Islam provides.
Freedom is the blood that runs in Arabs veins and pure nobility is their highest pride. This has always been their main characteristic way before Islam. This is why Allah (swt) chose them to carry his last message to all humanity.
Today they and their character and language are under a viscious existential attack. All is being gradually lost unfortunately.
But this happened during Jahiliyya phase right?
EDIT: Nope, it didn't. Al Farazdaq was born in 641 AD and died in 728 AD
@@MAGH1O1 I wish it were true. Corruption is still affecting the arabs. Most men aren't Muslim. Even my own brother. As a matter of fact, you're right. I do feel the freedom to be as truthful and honest as possible. When I grow old I'll try to write poetry and see if I could expose certain subjects and topics.
Exactly.... even amma khadija was a businesswoman during jahiliya. But somehow its credit goes to islam. She was doing businesses before arrival of islam@@shabeerali1256
@@AwabAbidziedbet that guy is south asian. I will never get their obsession of putting arabs on a higher pedestal as if arabs or arabic is divine....

فَغُضَّ الطَرفَ إِنَّكَ مِن نُمَيرٍفَلا كَعباً بَلَغتَ وَلا كِلابا
MasyaAllah. Beautiful story you have there brother. This makes me understand why Quran is the greatest mukjizat for our Prophet SAW. Thank you so much.
I guess you should have also explained that those words (ka'ab and kilāb) being used to humiliate the numayr tribe are homonyms. Ka'ab means the heel or the proper noun of a tribe , as kilāb would also mean the owners of dogs which also connotes with status and also a type of despicable contagious desease.(3 meanings). Numayr is a proper noun of a tribe but also means a small tiger. In Arabic the word structure as such would mean to belittle the status of the reference. So, its a clever play of words. Hence, the paraphrasing of the meaning of the line could be: Get lost, you are from a tribe that is named after a small tiger, low in status which neither reach the height of a heel, nor does it reach the positions of the owners of dogs and not even enough to be of the status of a despicable contagious disease. Kinda like a punch under the navel really for the numayr tribe.😂
Barakallah feek, but I haven't seen this interpretation in the sharhs of the bayt I referred too. Not sure this is a style the Arabs used. But do share any references you may have come across.
No these are lineages ka’ab and kilab are lineages from the tribe of Hawazin from which Numair (tribe are also from) but the former two are more famous and have a higher status and no disrespect to Numair because they were one of the few small tribes that didn’t ask help from their cousins.
Arab named the big tribes which have smaller tribes in it like (hawazin have many tribes like the three mentioned in the poem are all from it)who are strong as skulls which are 8
Embers/cinders which are three meaning tribes that didn’t ask for help from their cousins which Numair tribe are from.
Maa shaa' ALLAAH. May ALLAAH - High and Exalted - increase you in your knowledge and eloquence to convey to us the gems of the Arabic language for people in the English language - 'in shaa' ALLAAH.

Thank you for this lesson. What an intriguing discussion of the ancient Arab tradition before Quran. Much appreciated.
It wasn't before Qur'an. Arab pagans were burying their children before islam. Islam came and civilized and educated the whole world. Destroyed all pagan ignorance. Read Qur'an bro it's the best speech.

As an arab i see you missing some context, when he said he couldnt reach kaab and kilaba, it also means youre so low you can't reach an ankle or a dog from how low they are, double meanings dont forget them
No he not means this if you know kilab and ka'ab

It's cool, but you didn't mention that part 😂
After this poem, there were three boys from the Numayr tribe playing on horses, and a woman passed by and they kept looking at her until she stumbled in her dress in shame and fell. She said while she was angry 😡 O Banu Namir, you did not apply the word of God, tell the believers to close their eyes.” And you did not apply the words of the poet Jarir?
Thanks

This story is sooo cool, Ma Sha Allah!
I mean, Al Zarir had a mike drop moment in front of An Numayr.
This is funny.
Great video my brother, but I wish you put some emphasis on why he mentioned Ka'ab and Kilab in the poem which was because Numayr, Ka'ab and Kilab were all part of the larger Banu Amir tribe.
Which is to say Numayr are the lowest in terms of status between the sons of Banu Amir.
Brilliant
