- Pinara is one of those places that you will most likely have all to yourself. It's situated in beautiful surroundings and is worth the visit for nature lovers and ancient ruin fanatics alike. The royal rock tombs are spectacular. You can find them just after the entry on your left.
The remains of several ancient temples can also be seen in Pinara, an upper and a lower acropolis, a theatre, an odeon, an agora and a church. The name Pinara has somewhat been assimilated to the name of the present-day village of Minare, half an hour below the ruins in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province, Turkey.

Fascinating walk - amazing amount of rock tombs there. Thank you for sharing - from Australia.
I am still not sure what impressed me more. The old stuff or the nature of the area. Stunning place.
So many wonderful places to explore in Türkiye.
It's endless and will take me years.
Although I find the ruins fascinating I still think back with my minds eye to think how absolutely stunning this place was when it was first built 😎
Sometimes I come across computer animation that show just that. Amazing!
Wonderful..! There is so much history scattered around the hills and woods of SouthernTurkey. And it's all looking so green and lush with those spring spurges and fresh growth abounding. 💚 I've only seen it in late summer when it's all died off except for those tall white sea squills. Another amazing adventure with you and Timo, thanks for sharing 🙏
Yes, I agree. Winter and spring are great here. Summer is simply to hot to enjoy.
❤thank you sending so much gratitude and appreciation amen superb treck and rock tombs so healthy living have a greatness day amen
Thanks!
Thank you! Beautiful landscape ❤❤❤❤❤
It really is! Springtime being a great help.
I was there last fall, in November. It was amazing, especially this spot with rock tombs and golden trees, piles of golden leaves all around, just like real eureopean autumn 😄
Fall there must be amazing with those trees
Interesting to see the site with so many turtles. I’m wondering if there are any folk legends or even superstitions about the turtles in this antiquity city.
Not that I know of. But don't forget, you see them everywhere here. And even more so during mating season.
Oh how did i miss that ! thats amazing next time i am there !
So easy to miss. It's a well hidden gem. I am here for years and keep finding new spots to go to. It's endless haha
Nice video, there is a Amphitheater you missed.
Thanks, but I did not miss it, you really can't haha. But I try to highlight something else in every video. Something special from that location. I don't want all the old places to look the same. There is something special in each of them.
lived 11 years in the region, never heard of Pinara. Thanks.
Same here, always something to discover. Mugla's magic.
