New subscriber here 😀 , excellent and informative video. Been doing this type of fishing (well actually ALL types of fishing lol 🎣 🐟 🐠 ) my whole life (34yrs old now) and I can tell you know your stuff and know how to live the angler lifestyle!!! Keep it up!
Edit: p.s.---- I live in mid-western ohio on the Indiana border only an hour drive to the Ohio River on the Kentucky/Ohio border, and 10 minutes from whitewater river near Richmond Indiana. Multiple smaller streams and creeks that I fish and also trot line...and most would very surprised at the size of the fish you can catch in smaller bodies of moving water, and the effectiveness of rigging stationary lines with live bait, especially on log jams and the deeper/rocky-bottomed "S" bends in those streams. It really is a learned art figuring out how to properly set fixed/jug lines, but once you do, you'll never go hungry!!!!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had any dealings with limb lines or trot lines to. I may try it this spring

Have you tried night crawlers or chicken livers as bait? The lake I grew up on was great for trotlines. We could easily catch 100lbs of channel cat a night that ranged 2-5lbs. We caught much larger fish also, but we tried to keep them around that size because everyone like that size for the family fish fry. Many times, we fished for crappie during the day, and we would all limit out at 30 each. It was nothing to clean 200 crappies after one morning of fishing. My father sure loved setting and running trotlines though.

We use to put limb lines out here but people got to where they were particular good for other people to. Between us 3 we would put out around 150 limb lines 50 apiece here per. We would do good until the stinking gar would move in. Y’all know what that means

Haven't used limb lines or Trotlines since I don't know I was 10 years old grew out of that s*** pretty quickly started using fishing poles! You guys should try dynamite and commercial Nets! Nothing personal I give all limb liners a hard time! You guys seem like good God's people that's all I care about in this world!
