Luigi with survivor’s guilt as opposed to being a ghost stuck by the mansion actually makes it much sadder. And then Peach and Toad showing up to comfort him was a good touch that actually made me sad.
The idea that the ghoulish look isn't even anything paranormal he just gave up in keeping himself healthy.

@@pinkponypuppy9586it was a timer. In the og game there would have been a timer, but it was scrapped, the idea would be that you had límited time to save mario, if you failed luigi would be stuck outside with the gate locked.

I really like the ending, with Peach and Toad finding Luigi and trying to comfort him. Even though he blames himself and loathes himself over the loss of Mario, he still has friends that care about him and that will support him. Even though he feels lost and alone, he still has support to help him find his way.
I couldn't say it better myself. Lots of people are depressed in the world, thinking they're worthless, alone, or that everyone is against them. This doesn't usually end well, and that's scary to think about. You need to talk to someone if you're not feeling okay, because people care about you.

What's really scary about this song is this that the existence of the Beta Game Over Screen for Luigi's Mansion means this was a VERY REAL possibility in an Nintendo game.

A terrific amount of respect on display for the source material, here. As someone who grew up with the Mario series, this song always tugged at my heart. The various clips from the franchise of Mario being Luigi's personal hero have got me wiping tears off of my keyboard. My mind traces back to the journals in the original Paper Mario. He really did look up to him. Thank you, Juno.

I honestly agree with you, when luigi said "Why was I the one left to survive" it broke my heart. But mario is still alive so it might not be to late, and you can hear how much mario misses his brother through his voice.

The sorrow and depression this provides aside, the lyrics also show backwardly how genius the idea of King Boo was. Just as Luigi describes, Mario was always there to protect him. Taking what makes the duo the strongest and effectively gaining victory.

3:20 is always my favourite part of Alone V2 and as always you take my favourite parts of FNF songs and just crank them to the max! Luigi’s voice is so powerful and most of it harmonises super well with Mario’s lines but also gives that sort of eerie dissonance to still provide that creepy edge to it at the same time. Loving it as always ✨👏✨

despite being the 4th Mario Madness lyrical cover in a row, I'm not complaining when I say;
The original hit me in the feels, but this lyrical cover made me cry-
What gets me the most is that when you finally get in control of BF, the healthbar is already fully to the left like if you were dominating him even though normally it always starts at the halfway mark between the 2 characters, like he gave up before you even appeared
One thing i noticed is that EVERY lyric Luigi sings is JUST about Mario. The only times he speaks of anything else is to put himself down and even then, it comes back to him failing Mario. Which really shows just how hung up he is on this.

I genuinely love the implications that Luigi made it to King boo and faced him in his bowser state, gave his all in the fight just to lose when he was most needed. Luigi called himself weak and how his fear got to him, but as he sings he shows how he did press on and tried his best.

This really shows how much Mario means to him. Even in his grief he’s not fully absorbed by his own shortcomings. He is worried about how losing Mario will impact the world and he prays for his life back. His whole world is effectively gone even if he doesn’t realise that there is still people that care namely Toad and Peach. That’s real friendship, finding your friend who went out to his brother’s grave and being there no matter what. In fact, now that I think about it, that scene is a compliment to the lyrics about his brother. “Without you, I’m lost and alone” becomes “With friends, you’re found and together.”

Boyfriend’s lyrics here are profound as always. Him reading out the Luigi’s Mansion Wikipedia article shows us that it took him a while to understand Luigi’s pain, but once he read through it, he now knew the loss Luigi felt without his brother. As always, Juno is a lyrical genius when it comes to understanding Boyfriend as a character.

But you know, as I thought about how all the characters would react to this, an idle thought came to my mind. How would Bowser react to this?

Whether it made the scenario even more tragic or took a bit of the edge off, the addition of an attempt to comfort Luigi at the end definitely makes the whole experience even more emotional - which is saying something!
One might dismiss it as "wow title drop" but making "I'm lost and alone" a unison line between Luigi and Mario also punched me right in the heart

I had to take a break in some scenes of some videogames on how sad it is, or not even when is sad, just thinking in how bad could things had gone is enough.
I remembered how I had to take a break after getting the faked out death of ryuji in persona 5. He wasn't even death, it just was a very emocional scene..
I've never seen this mod until now, but God, poor Luigi. It's interesting how some of these unused/deleted/beta content are sometimes more disturbing versions of events than the final products.

I totally expected Luigi to hum at the start and the end. Anyways, i totally love the lyrics, the way how luigi expresses his own sorrow, grief, guilt and despair about the loss of his brother was spot on. Juno must have went through the entire lore of Luigi's mansion just to get the lyrics written 100% correctly and accurately. 10/10
I don’t typically get emotional when listening to music including sad stuff but this really hit the heart strings and made me shed a few tears by the end. Phenomenal cover Juno I look forward to your next work on Mario madness or anything else. Keep up the great work

Overall, this is the best alone with lyrics I have seen. From bf’s lyrics being blurred, to Luigi’s slight breakdown after Mario’s part, to the ending with peach and toad, this is perfect.

Almost as if that was the point-
On a serious note, this is genuinely gut wrenching, not only seeing the visuals of Luigi's memories, but also hearing his vocal fluctuation, the raw emotion in his apologies, self-doubt, and even voice breaking as things come to a close.
But despite everything Luigi says in sheer self-deprication, he still has those he's come to cherish in his happy days to comfort him, through his depression and strife. He may feel alone, but that's simply not the case, and it's heart-warming that you'd address that in this way.

Another thought, I didn't realize how much I related to these lyrics, as I have a bad habit of doubting myself, and thinking I'm not worth love. I'm always comforted, and shown love, just like Luigi was. Truly an amazing way to make viewers feel great.
