There is no way you can film inside a hospital in the USA without security and police being called. China is on another level when it comes to freedom and democracy
Western democracy is actually a vote. Instead of making decisions for the people
Its America's pretext to interfere, demonize and subvert other nations' internal affairs.@@kelongye5117
China doesn't need democracy and doesn't need communism, that's just the ideology of a country. Ancient China is also very famous for its traditional medicine. and they treat people well, to foster health and foster a fairly good national spirit. China today might be said to be a democracy because of the freedom that exists, even though they are monitored by the government every day but that is for the good of their own people, and to avoid negative things such as murder, theft and all kinds of things.
There was no issue filming in the hospital, but we did let them know in advance out of courtesy.
Western democracy is a scam
The leadership of a country committed to the benifits of their people really make the heaven on Earth. . China is doing the same.. Lovely China with growing non stop.
Chinese hospitals have made amazingly rapid progress in recent years! Very impressive!
In Belgium you wait 9 a 10hours
In China, all regulations regarding work they really respect the rules and love their work, they will serve the people who use their services very well, treatment in China is also very cheap. Chinese hospital services are also equipped with AI technologies. China is amazing.
144th ranked healthcare system wirh appalling outcomes and pretty shitty cancer rate survival . Also miles behind when looking at medical innovation

Thanks for your kind words. I am starting to feel much better, though my arm still needs a few months to recover properly. This hospital stay costed around 35,000 RMB, but there are still check-ups ahead and the operation to take out the braces next year if all goes well.
Get well soon
No any insurance coverage?
Sorry for your accident, please be well.
Not too bad for a 16-day stay. If this happened in US, it will cost your another arm!
@@RedHotTopicsNow I agree. There is no comparison.
That's a surprise to me. Who would have thought filming inside a hospital.
The hospital in China doesn't ban the filming inside it.
So if you want, just filmimg. But don't focus on a stranger. 😂
Glad to hear that James is recovering. It was so nice of you Alex to visit him and make this wonderful video to share with us.
In Canada costs CAD$1,000 (about RMB 5500) for a foreigner to see a regular doctor for a minor thing such as a cold, cash must be paid in full before the doctor appears! If don't have the money then get kick out of the clinic.
I thought all doctors swear on the Hippocratic oath or it’s no longer applicable.
In Canada, we have universal healthcare system that covers most of those costs. For foreigners without insurance, it may cost roughly $10k. However, in US, you'll be in big trouble running about $100k.
@@koneos6580
Foreigners with their own private medical insurance and without Canada government medical health plan still must pay $1000 cash upfront, the clinic gives a receipt which the foreigners can later use to file claims with their medical insurance provider. All the medical clinics and hospitals in Canada require cash up front from anyone, not just foreigners, who are without any nationally recongized medical insurance in Canada.
😮What?RMB 5500 for a cold?
Even I don't use my medical insurance, take some medical examination for blood and urine、X-ray……the examination fee maybe RMB 300-400,than RMB 100 for the pills. 😂And most time I need not so many examination for a clod,RMB 200 in total is normal.
Hope you have a speedy recovery ❤️🩹. Stay well and happy in China! ✌️❤️
I fractured my shoulder 4th January when I went over on my ankle and fell face forward onto the concrete. Spent 5 days in the hospital with the room all to myself. Cost me 2,500 Rmb. Two thousand five hundred. Didn't need an operation but just had to have my arm in sling for three months. Still aches a bit now but no sling needed.
Doctors and nurse were excellent with their care for me even though they could not speak English.
I hope you’re recovering well. I’ll need another operation under general anaesthesia next year to remove the braces and screws, but I’ll keep that at the back of my mind for now. Chinese does really come in handy at the hospital. I speak with a strong accent, but communication isn’t a problem for me.

Excellent to have the military hospitals opened to the public when it is not needed for the soldiers. Military hospital's are the best of the best and in the US the "Surgeon General" which is a military appointment is the country's chief medical advisor.
It is enough to have 1 country leader, as long as the country can get a clear vision and mission to develop their country according to existing regulations and rules, rather than being a democratic country which has to change leaders every year and the policies of each leader are different and the vision and mission of changing leaders have to see whether they will continue the previous president's vision or stop the previous president's vision with the new president's vision, that is the same as slowing down the development of a country.
中国在两千年多年前就明白了这个道理。

Nice, very nice, for hospital and for James
Wonder how much it cost for the operation for a foreigner like James. Now that I think about it, either for your own channel, Alex or James or for iChongqing, a information like video about healthcare for foreigners, cost and where to go for help in case something happen would be nice.
Wishing you a smooth recovery, James.
35,000RMB, it's not too bad but a chunk of change though.
That was for the whole stay, including the operation from a surgeon with nearly 30 years experience. Apart from the injury, I have a lot to be thankful for. Thanks for the wishes.
Mostly, public hospitals in China are much better reputation than the private hospitals.
The costs are same rates for both citizens and foreigners by government regulations

In Australia, I have raised a family of six. Many hospital visits, occasionally even flying doctors and helicopter, ambulances, heart attack, child births, broken bones over the decades and much more never paid a cent.
Me. Study and work in syd, Australia for years. Citizen. Not on any Centrelink payment. With full time job. On Minimum healthy insurance which doesn't really cover everything.. Paid $ 400+ for ambulance (car accident), $730 for one ankle M.R.I (Medicare claim $200), $250 Specialist consultation if I don't want to wait for public hospital (more than a year waiting time). More and more GP s are not doing bulk billing ..... So, yes, we do have free health care, but with term and conditions...
@@heidif5585 You could have gone to a public hospital without insurance. I'm in my 60s now but I've never had insurance and never had to pay anything. I have never waited longer than 3 months for most surgery's and anything serious you get in straight away.
Mate, you are joking, aren't ya? The Bulk bill is gone, the Private insurance fund is hiking like crazy, and queues for the public hospital are getting worse and worse, the GP is basically doing nothing but ripping you off and then sending you to those real docs aka "specialists" which will cost you at least $300 each 10mins visit!
The docs, nurse, and patient, everyone is complaining, so really is not a good time to praise the Straya collapsing medical system here. But, of course, if you are one of those POS profiting from the NDIS by scamming money out of the system, I guess you are lucky to be an I-refuse-to-work kind of Disability, soon more Aussies will become the Disability, we can be more proud of being Disability nation, hey?
@@snapper69996666 it is because you are lucky and not getting any of those serious diseases, so you have time to wait, and you don't care if your treatment can get postponed by 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years 3 years delay, good on ya!
Or you are a kind of special VIP that is higher than most ordinary people in the queue, not like others who either have to swallow those crazy insurance bills to jump the queue or wait in the public long list to see the hospital considering your sickness is worth to be treated, by those docs working for both public and private...and you are proud of such system? This system is really sick.
@snapper69996666 Good that you never have to pay for your medical needs. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to everyone... no free ambulance for younger people like me (30s) , nor ongoing physiotherapy after 5 sessions.
True that our emergency service is pretty good.. However, you need to have lots of patience when it comes to free non-urgent services. For example, in 2023, the average waiting time for community dental services stands at 16.7 months in VIC.
I think the point of this video is to show Chinese efficiency. To show a different point of view from what you see on Western media. Yes , the Chinese need to pay for their service, but they get things done very quickly (Eg. Blood test, CT results within hours, many same day surgery) and the standard is quite high too. (Well. Of course depends on which hospital you go to... same in Australia)
Good luck with your healing James. Can you tell us more about the art of bone setting without surgery done by the first Chinese doctor. Is it a part of traditional Chinese medicine? I know that in traditional Chinese medicine, they don't like to cut open the body.
Thank you. I didn’t really have any treatment at the hospital in Wanzhou apart from the x-ray and the doctor manually putting the joint back in place. It was more a temporary stay before I could be transferred to Chongqing.
A surgeon friend of my dad's said, if possible " don't let the air in".... ❤😢😊
China medical care already next level. they really did good things to their people, we paid expensive insurance per month, still hard to find a doctor, so disappointed .....
The last war involved China was the Sino-Vietnamese War in 1979 and it was 45 years ago, nothing worth mentioning before that date
*_Best wishes to James. Hoping you can recover soon with good doctors and nurses. Take care next time._*
Never look at your phone when walking, always watch where you're going and walking on. If you must look at your phone then stop walking, stay at a safe spot before looking at your phone.

Excellent report - most informative - thank you.

Good work China. Public health services are great and should be free, glad I live in Australia and not the US
Hospital is not free, but cheap and quick.
Usually, the community will cooperate with hospital to invite the doctors go to community for giving a free physical examination for above 60 years old people.
But Chinese company be asked to pay a medical insurance for thier employee. So it‘s not expensive for us.
Wish you speedy recovery James.
very hard to see doctor in time at USA, truth!! real medical for people in China.......
From getting off the plane in Xiamen at6 o’clock in the morning. by 8 30I was able to see a dentist in a public hospital had treatments done at incredibly affordable prices . and without an appointment.
Nice cover on China's hospital... hospital HC worker myself
It just proves you can keep the health cost down if you really wanted to. This would be at least 5 or 6 times more in the US just for visit emergence room a couple of hours.
Absolutely. The hospital gives inpatients a daily itemised bill with a 2am cutoff time, and those IV bottles literally cost tens of yuan each, while the cost of smaller things like needles and dressings were in single digits. The bed rate was only 60 yuan per night, with an extra 10 for accompanying family members. It shows how vital it is that medicine prices are strictly controlled to stop the health service from becoming a racket.
@@cqfox Why would you need to have your family members there overnight?
@@sabinereynaudsf I guess in chinese culture, most chinese cares about their family members and consider it as a very important thing. They would like to stay with the patient and hope they get well soon❤

Private hospitals are all high profit, including dentistry, male and female reproductive medicine, plastic surgery, and reproductive medicine. They are specialized hospitals and even personal clinics. General hospitals are not allowed by the government and can only be operated by the state. If a Chinese person purchases national medical insurance, the cost of this payment is about 5000 yuan, and the medical insurance reimbursement is 80% -90%
Recover soon. Good luck.

one good point is many military facilities in china will provide services to the public in cheap price when there is no war, which helps the poor people and also helps the facilities make profits so they spend less tax money to maintance😮
是的,在中国没有战争核工厂的离心机是用来做冰激凌的。🤣
What? 16 days? You probably only were allowed to stay in the hospital for just one or two days in US, but the cost probably will be more than what you paid there for 16-day stay.
16
It was a long stay. Most of the fellow patients came and went after a few days. It was a serious break, so they needed a long time to control the swelling pre-op, and the observation period was another five days or so. No complaints though, the hospital was top notch.
An you do more videos of Chinese medical system
It`s true things are getting better 'up north' as far as medicine and hospitals go - but many people still come down in Hong Kong to seek medical assistance here! And now a days they have to pay full price for government run hospitals!
There are very few cases of treating gunshot injuries in China, so Chinese trauma doctors go to the United States to study. In China, military hospitals are preferred for trauma and orthopedic diseases because they are professional
Because literally not a lot of people can carry guns in China. Even local police do not have guns. hehehehe
@@missglee like only the 武警 and military has it :)
sound like a hell joke😂😂
When a war occurred, some of the doctors and nurses in these military hospitals would be relocated to the field hospitals.
Doctors in Daping hospital recieved thr order to prepare themselves during 96 strait crisis.
One of my colleagues broke his arm in China. In China, there is no need to queue up to make an appointment, and the doctor can arrange surgery at any time according to your condition, because the company where my colleague works has reimbursed 80% of the Chinese social security, which originally cost 3,000 US dollars, but it only cost less than 1,000 US dollars after reimbursement. If you do not have 50,000 US dollars in the United States, you will not be discharged or even hospitalized.
No deposit, no treatment
In reality, lots of Americans cannot afford medical services

Thankfully, we have a work related insurance scheme, so I didn’t need to worry about that.
Do you have any travelling insurance coverage ??
What was the cost like for foreigners and how does it compare to a private Chinese hospital? How do you compare this to Western hospitals like in Canada, or Australia?
别去私人医院 收费太贵
I kept snot from a few days ago, yesterday I went to the hospital, below r my expenses: Register and see the doctor cost 4 USdollars, Nasal endoscopy 22dollars, medicine and nasal vacuum wash total 22 dollars. Thats all. Parking1.5 USD. Everything done in 2 hours, better make reservation 1 day before you would like go to hospital. Thats all.
The best doctors in China work in public hospitals. The most private hospitals in China are dental clinics.

curious how much it costs after insurance coverage.
Wow.. great operation.... Perfect service. Why don't you compare the service to USA or UK? 😊 If it happens in USA and Uk, how long will it take to reach hospital? How long will it take to take and x-ray ? How long will it take a dr to come and see you? How much will cost in UK?

James will never be admitted to hospital here in Canada. It's not that serious they say. The doctor sent my colleague home with a broken arm recently.
he would be admitted, it just depends where you are and the doctor. you can't speak on the whole with just one experience in one place.

Ward is too crowded not good if the next bed has respiratory disease. You can see the nurse has little room to move in case of emergency procedure 🤔
Your concern is non sense in China.
The respiration disease patient will stay in different departments with air circulation control.
This is only for orthopedic patients.
Patients with respiratory diseases will be assigned independent wards. Of course, if ordinary patients want to stay in a single ward, it is also possible, with only an additional fee. This depends on the patient's own choice.

Health care is not entirely free in china. If you are poor, life isn't that great. If you live in England every one has the same health care service. Nearly 643000 people went bankrupt because they couldn't pay medical bill in America each year. At least this won't happen in china.
yeah but china is communist, and there are subsidies alr?
In China, even if you can't afford the cost. If your condition is severe, treatment will be arranged first, and then the expenses will be reimbursed. We will never let anyone wait to die.
everyone has read/heard about the huge problems the NHS is now going through. In fact there are plans - aren`t there - to make it insurence based rather than a tax based paid for system. Singapore has a fairly good method of insurance based health care - Hong Kong hasa both public and private with a growing interface between the two and government paid for scheme for elderly to get free private health care. the problem for the NHS is UK government military spending.

The United States is the most powerful country in the world, possessing the highest medical technology. Why does the United States have the most deaths from COVID-19 in the world?
China's population is several times that of the United States. Why is China far less likely to die of COVID-19 than the United States? That's because China's public health governance is already the best in the world.
If we hope that China can prevent the virus from spreading globally. That's very simple. It only needs that all countries in the world are under the leadership of the CPC. Otherwise, the Chinese government can only manage its own country well. Whether others are dead or alive, we are powerless.
