It's amazing to see the love for this mix. I made this one day in my small room surrounded by stacks of vinyl, just picking out my favourites and mashing them.
Would never have guessed it brings joy to 2 million people across the world. Thank you, house heads!
I am pressing play now to see what all the fuss is about brb.
I still come back to this one from time to time. Thanks for sharing this mix!
Exactly how art works! 🥂💫👍
keep doing it, your songs are amazing! kudos btw for posting the songs playlist on the description

I am 48 years old and am from NJ. House music was and still is my favorite. I did so much clubbing from 16 on up to 25. Club Zanzibar in Newark, NJ was my second home and running a close race was Limelight, Palladium, Paradise Garage, Studio 54 and a few more. Nothing like Classic House Music........... Those were the days
House music all night long
The first time I've ever heard of House, it was introduced to me back in September of '87 in fashion by a fellow student in Flushing High School by the name of Will. He was looking sharp and ready to go to the club. Although we were a little too young to be at any club. Before the school went on Christmas break, I had a walkman and was catching the WKRS (Kiss-FM) Lunch time Mix. Listening to a new sound (at the time) it just caught on from there. I didn't dress like Will, but we shared our love for the music. Will, if you are still with us? I want to thank you for getting me in groove with the sounds of the underground form the day. HOUSEHEAD4LIFE!
I might have seen you at the Zanzibar
Darling, I´m 55 years young and I just keep loving this music!! You and me are the best example of the fact that music has no age limit, country where one lives, religion, sex, the way we were brought up and all the trivial things!! We listening and sharing our feelings are the greatest power there is and will be!!!!!!
It's a shame when u type in house music that you actually have to type from the 80's and 90's. I'm 43 years old and these young kids don't understand the real meaning of house. House is a feeling inside you that makes sll other problems and worries disappear.....when you hear the music you go to another place... We would dance for hours and no fighting or bull. So I tip my hat to you for making me remember i'm an original House Head ..... My kids 6 and 7 dancing right now !!!! thank you for bringing a smile to my face today!!!!
+Remi Proton Exactly how your parents felt about jazz/Rocknroll! Crazy how every generation has its sound fade out and get absorbed by the next but that's life. As long as somebody feels the music somewhere some time then it is alive. Peace.
So true
so true. it was a very special time.
+Remi Proton I'm in my early 20s, my old man was a club DJ back in the 80s and taught me how to mix on SL1200's when I was about 14, been mixing ever since. I'm with you, though. Go to 10 clubs on a night out anywhere in the UK, maybe you'll find 3 decent DJs... I've been to clubs in Bristol and one night, I kid you not, an iPod was being used! I'm here enjoying these epic tunes though, modern house doesn't really cut it (though rarely I do find some good new releases) but it's a shame a DJ today can have such a title just by using a sync button.
i'm 55 this year, got all Journeys by DJ series yet cannot find all on-line. Bit like streetsounds. got vinyl will have to teach the digital masters....
I'm 484 years old and can clearly recall the day when everything wasn't what it is now.
Those were the days I cant remember.
And I'm not an alcoholic or even an occasional drinker.
Never have been.
Yet the entirety of the latter end of the 20th century is just blank.
I know things happened and I was there when they did.
Just dont know what happened or where it happened.
But I was there.
Great, our children will never know this amazing times, with all the Shit is going on in the world on the moment, we had our freedom in all ways, never forget it, and I l❤️ve Statenhal🇱🇺🇱🇺🇱🇺
Yeah, I know. I was with you.
I was across the street I seen you all
bro 400 years is crazy
👍🍄🔑🧩
I'm 53, and lived and loved every minute of the live, proper raveing in hacindena Manchester / midlands madness with cream hardcore happy and acid house/ I've a crutch/ slipped disc's, to much dancing etc,,,,bloody brilliant do it all over again, never stopped just changed sounded systems a bit to reggae,,,,bigger speakers and could puff!!!! but I'd love to go raving again any reunions for us oldies who never want to give up loving life/xx
you're not old!! :)
Hi Sharon.
You said you used to rave in the midlands. Does that mean clubs like Shelley's and Entropy (Amnesia House) in Stoke-on-Trent? Stoke was really the beginning of the rave scene in England and people from all over the country came down (Manchester, Crewe, Leeds, Birmingham, and many other places.
We still have an old skool rave scene in Stoke every few weeks. Look out for them and come on down! There's still a few hundred at most of the gigs and all the old-days DJ's still play there: Top Buzz, Daz Willet, Groove Rider, Slipmat and some others.
I'm paying the price hard for to much raving lol 48 now but I would do it all over again these younger once don't know what they missed 😀😀😀😀
YES...google Clockwork Orange, big parties for those who remember!!!! See you on the dancefloor :)
Sharona Wrighton sharona i was there 88 89... 🎉 raving in the fields .. bass thumping in ya bones
54 AND FULL OF HOUSE, this will never get old, i put this on jump on my 1000 bike and im free as a bird, not a better feeling for me, need no drugs or alcohol, just house and road.
reminds me of a day long gone when we had respect 4 each other and everyone was just happy 2 listen 2 great tunes
Amen to that 🙏
We are doing that now. At least I am. Hope you and everyone else is too. This is a sick mix! 🥳
I wish it was still like that mate. God I miss those days. At least we can still enjoy these tunes.
@@sledgeheads4729 i listen to yt with no adds for twelve bucks a month. listen to nothing but old rave mix tapes. The love is still alive for me.
Seb Fontaine etc, dd 2 doves, bottle of poppers, happy days, rave on........
Big difference in life style.....club or hardcore....same house music....different people but under ONE roof! That's the magic of the nineties!
Word!
The only thing good about the 90s was when black people like me got freedom
Ain’t no freedom no more,
New world order = house music
God this music makes me miss my buddies back in the day! RIP Angel Melendez! I miss you buddy! Ben, Michael, Jose...miss you guys!!!!!!! This is sweaty, raw, dance on top of speakers house music!
❤️
Proper house.. uplifting but not cheesy.. underground sounds and darker acid vibes within!! Sick mix
nothing wrong with cheesy... or proper about darker vibes :P but yas! uplifting voodoo ray!
Voodoo Ray....synth heaven... stilll a boss tune 30 years later 👌🥵👍
God be with the days when these tunes graced the dance floors of the world. Unlike the dull, drab shite that is played today.
We had unity through dance. A few golden years for sure. Sadly missed. Peace
Yes Anakin...and may the force and house music be with you...always my friend
you're right. xx
i def concur with u Swift Cee 1000%
Never again will any generation feel what we felt when these bangers pumped out of the speakers - jaws wobbling and feeling like you were gonna explode when the bass kicked in - I'm a father of two now but every now and then I hear a tune and I get goosebumps up my arms.... The body never forgets!!!
90s and 00s are the best two decades ever in my book
I'm only 23 and missed out on this incredible era for house and dance music.. im glad i can re-live it through mixes like this!
Finally somebody who understood the case. Iam 22 btw.. greetings from germany
same
yep im in my late 20s and it hurts my soul
I'm a 51yr old woman here to tell you, you haven't missed a thing. It's all around for you, to check it out, jack your body and enjoy. #housemusicisastapleFOREVERforALL
@@ladonnabrooks7285 thank you
I LOVE this - it takes me back from the boredom of wife and motherly duties to when I was raving in San Francisco - THANK YOU- rejuvenated.
Soundtrack to house head youths. Baggy Girbaud jeans, Dr Martens, woven hoody. Every night had a must go party with a legendary DJ. Doin rounds in the Soho, Bowery, LES dropping flyers and getting the guest list together for the door- getting out at 4am to hit the after party till Noon. Sleep a few hours house music past the break of dawn. Thank you for taking us back in space time.
wow i'm 44 and work across the limelight which is a GYM now i pass by LES bowery that place has changed so much
22 years old listening to this, absolute golden! i dj myself and I have sooooo much respect for these guys doing it back in the day! no sound wave, no digital bpm readings etc just the pure use of you ears!! its amazing! being broke as hell i have no chance in affording vinyl, so to try an re-create what these old boys went through i like to black out my screen on my pc an mix with just my ears! this is so much more enjoyable than mixing looking at sound waves, bpm's or using a sync button! trying to take as much influence as i can from the 90's an put them into my mixes. basically what I'm trying to say is i know a lot of people have forgot about the roots of house but there is a few out there that haven't! so there is still hope!!
William Pridgen is 51 (Hi Will), Ren G. is mid40ish (G'day Ren) but let's get serious: I just turned 72 and I'm still dancing till dawn. In my dreams. But I spent 10 years dancing my tush off in the 90s, at Sound Factory, N.Y., The End-Up in S.F., The Phoenix, Sydney and Trade, Clerkenwell. And I loved every minute of it. This very classy mix has a subtlety, even a delicacy that is rare as hen's teeth. Thanks for the memories.
I just love your dance spirit and I love you - just because I can tell the music talks to you as it does me~! World Off ~ Music On
David Bourne good discription 👍
Those were some of my stomping grounds in the 90s also... Trade being the wildest by a huge margin.. The End Up has changed so much. But in the 90s it was a lot of fun. Also Cocktails in downtown SF, and Club Townsend.. Pleasuredome, Rhythm, Universe...
END-UP for life, the lifeblood of SF, staple embedded in culture for House, viva de Vida Loca
Love this. Inspirational and I wish I could dance with you, my friend. xxx
these songs take me back to my prime years at the Tunnel, Sound Factory, Red Parrott, and Underground in NYC. This is when House Music was real House. God I miss those times.
man feels like in 1993 all over again...miss those days...I work out to this every nite tho...I'm best shape of my life...wish I was in those days...lol...
You can't beat then days everyone come together it was great. ..Loved it nothing lasts forever too many people got involved and spoiled the vibe completely 88-93 I raved hard and the music ...the jack and kills ...The women everyone it was a pleasure to be part of xx
Oh so many memories of endless dancing in da clubs...Circle, Octagon, Danceteria, Tunnel, Limelight, Red Zone, Sound Factory..and.. Sound Factory Bar, Original Sues Cafe Con Leche, WarZone, Bank...sheesh...golden times..house music all night long!
I’m shocked that at 61im still freestyle Smurfing around the house!! That’s right, big Chinese hat and shoes, beanbag pants and cut up tee!! Jam on my brother you are the reason I’m forever young!!! Housers reunite!!!!
Hell yeah 🥳
57 doing the same amen
Yes brother God bless you
61 too 🙃 and still super free style!!💥Let's get together somewhere wild and rave again..... today's zombies need our fierce energyyyyyyy and creativity 💥💥💥
Who's still listening in 2024? Timeless.
House music will never die! The older I get (and I'm 53);the better the house music gets! So forget about keep on rocking, the word on the streets is keep on housing!!!!
Still Lovin the OLD School at 46 YO !!!!!
Yeah man 54 an luvin it luvin it luvin it
In 1993 I was about 14 and my school friends tapped into this sweet sweet music.. timeless!!
Like me!!
We've all been housed! that's why we feel it... :-0
You can not recreate the vibe of these epic tracks.. the feeling I still get listening to these gives me so much emotion and goosebumps.. I remember being so addicted to tracks back in the day I would ask anyone and everyone for new tracks as if it was heroin. Love love love the old skool. Big love to everyone else on these comments for feeling the same.. one love!
Steve I feel exactly the same, this music gives me always goosebumps and intense emotions. Wouw...what a great time were those days❤️
Flicking through youtube trying to find old skool mixes and came across this. Seriously good..... BUT then finally heard a track thats eluded me for nearly 30 years. Never new the name of track and had given up tbh. 'Slumberland'.. made my night. Played it about 10 times so far. Thanks 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻.
I have it on what's up when you do that you can listening it when sent it to your own ❤❤
I was there in the 90s still pumping dem tunes. Mill
Ahhhh the days when we danced appreciated the tunes and never had phones ....... fun times!!
Top mix even though I'm 50 and over .The rave ,acid, house ,and jungle music represents so much of spirit, real unity no hang ups over colour sex or politics in this era. This will be classed as classical music in the future.Definitely changed the world as did Rock and Roll, Reggae, and of course Hip Hop and Rap
52 years young........... STILL FUCKING "AVIN IT LARGE !! big up to all the original cheesy quavers..... u know who u are.... best days of my life..went to so many raves ,some very hazy memories, what a time to be alive, ,,,, nothing comes close to those days back when love was everywhere...........
Yeah man fukin ave it , best days pal , weren’t they ,right off yer Barnet
Yess lad , belta tunes n belta days laa never be repeated, ave it , oh yes oh yess 😜🔥🔥🔥🔥
Who dared to give thumb downs to such a great mix? Some individuals of young generation :(( ? 90's was passion, optimism and energy. It always revives my spirit and my mind!!!
Eva Maria Magdolna Hatzegan I'm 15 years old and gave it a thumbs up. 👍 When I'm older I dream of becoming a DJ and bringing back 90s hose music, modernised, but still sounding EXACTLY the same. That's my dream passion
I am glad to hear, I miss the fashion of 90's, those specific hats and large pants for boys, not those funny skinny pants that don't look quite masculine on most of the boys nowadays, not even rockers wear that style much :((
If you want to bring the ambience of 90's back I really encourage you to pass it forward to next generations. All the best Geo!!!
Wish you all the best with that plan man! Just a tip, start working for that goal as soon as possible! :)
Eva Maria Magdolna Hatzegan the coolest era , we are the true pioneers
C h i l l C r a v e.
Yes unfortunately there were some senseless people who also like this music, who always like to pick on the younger the younger generation. I promise I'm not one of them :-).
i'm 52 this year still up to 02.00 this morning listening to Patrick London and Tim Nash from release fm, these tunes remind me of the great nights i had at House of Windsor, the Ministry of sound the Hanover Grand London Fantazia Universe back in 1992 through to 1994 and here i am still hooked on House love it :) your never to old to enjoy great music
❤🎉
I'm from Chitown and house music is in my blood dope classic traxx DJ
61 now loved the whole thing 87-92 still love the tunes
This takes me way back. The music was so true and natural one just couldn't help but dance. The beats would take you over and you would be lost in the sound
The soundtrack of my childhood playground! Ahh, the memories. Music was actually real music back then. I was born in the 80s so naturally I like 80s music, new wave, 80s pop and all that, as well as the early 90s true and proper House music scene. I consider the late 80s and early 90s my childhood playground, when we actually made the effort to make real music and real entertainment.
I miss this time, the 80s and early 90s - the time of Jim Henson's Storyteller series, Nervana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, DuckTales and the Saturday Morning ABC bumpers and cartoon lineup, as well as PBS's showing of classic Doctor Who episodes and when the Sci-Fi Channel was just comi on the air for the first time.
Back then, it was cheap to entertain the kids and I am so happy and honored that I got the chance to enjoy those times that are, for the most part, two of the most underapreciated decades known. I am an 80s and early 90s child, that was my playground, nostalgia to the 10th power!!
DarkComet360 Awesome. Born in '71, so I know where you're coming from. I think we copped the best music.
DarkComet360 i was born 1981, 34 i know how you feel....although my top 4 bands are the cure, the cure and the cure oh and the cure
+Angus Brown 76' and saw the change.. see the change
+DarkComet360 I've been trying to find an artists cd from back then i know it was real i dj'd starting in 89'. This was right at 2000 i think but he would say "the freshmaker" i believe it was a clown of some type and it was slower. In the beginning he said "we hear that u are looking for top quality recordings at low prices" I know it sounds crazy but it was a whole cd. Come on u gotta remember it it was real happy and fun?
you'r riche mate there is nothing like home
4th Measure Men "4 you" - what a tune!!! An obscure MK production from 1993. Sleazy gooves!
Without giving my age away too much, I'm a House Head right from the 80's until now. Unlike me, it never gets old. Nice mix brings back a lot of memories.
Amazed how well this holds up. Many of these songs sound more futuristic than the music coming out now.
I still get chills hearing 'voodoo ray' and 'alright'. Being older and not hearing the tunes as much is obvious to me now we hear certain records differently as we add that emotional value to the record.
well said mate
Yeah man,🫖just like tea gets better when yer get emotional
Yorkshire lad , lovely jubbly
Old skool

This was surely an ultimate treat.. only true house heads can get into this shit..im talking dancing for hours at the Garage soaking wet and Everybody was together, Gay, straight, lesbian, midget, wheelchairbound, black, white, Spanish, we bonded through House music.. I enjoyed this collection very much.. don't stop..dont stop.. let's bring house back people
Beautiful words!! each of these tunes tells a story for all of us!!
one of the best DJ sets I ever heard. & special makes it oldschool, but not simple, very trippy, timeless, true
This is making my morning! I'll be dancing at my desk until it's over. This rocks.
To Me; this era had the best House music
Remember "....... Those days. Den Haag rules anyway Mfer 47 !!!
Still here 2022 - 2023 till the end hope God plays this mix in Heaven so everyone from this era can meet again and party 🎉🎉🎉 PEACE TO THE WORLD
I was nowhere near born when house first came out, but my parents played it when I was younger. Now I'm 17 and this is pretty much all I listen to
wow... I had a smile on my face beginning to end ... great memories and even greater time for music!!!
Just in my early 40s now, and yes this brings back a lot of memories of the club scene from 91-95 for me as well... from "all ages" nights to after hours clubs.
good times.
And you made it thru...:) Make sure you share this with your kids... its a style that they will never find alone and it will develop their Soul!!!
Urban soul - Alright (Zanzibar mix) .... magical, pure gold .... any superlative may apply
Awsome mix and good quality ! More La DS than rave the city due to it's clubsound.Den Haag 4 evah !
Awesome mix. I DJ'd in Queens from 89-93 and enjoyed all these tracks. Glad I still got all my vinyl :)

im 43 and been listening to tunes like these since i was 13-14 a massive ups to all the Old School House Heads love this mix some great tunes but only crime is no Frankie Knuckles how could you leave out the godfather???
Best time ever, and trust me I love 1970-80-90-2000. House music has that vibe that comes and trandenscent you to another dimension.
i was first introduced to this style of music in 1992 when i was visiting England, i took a tape back to Ireland and played it to my friends, all being rock fans they all thought it was garbage, shortly afterwards we'd spend every weekened over the next three years raving hard at clubs and festivals, dropping E's, acid and mushies, other than several casualties we'd one hell of a time.
zelfs voordat ik hem luister staat ie al tussen de favorieten!!
thanks a lot of tunes remind me of my "trips" to Ibiza back in 90/91 And many raves back in the day..Thanks for the Flashback, Great mix and selection!..Thank you.

I'm 54 and remember house when it was still wharehouse..From the clubs in NYC to the dance floors of Fire Island. The beats where infinite and full of spiritual wisdom... Thank you Lord for those wonderful experiences. Greetings from Charlotte, NC (transplanted from NYC). :)
Everything that made house music so great.

I'm 26, and can relate to looking back 10-12 years ago at raves I used to go to that sound exactly like all the other comments. Either 26 is now considered old, or 46-53 isn't considered old or I've been time traveling in my teens 🤔
Anyway love the mix, it's got me bouncing and bopping, have a great weekend everybody❤️
The Cass, DQ's, Hong Kong Cafe, Brandi's, and all the after hours where it was really going on! Class of 86. Lost were backyard flyer parties. Thanks for taking me back!

The hottest mixology ever for the millennium planets riding the ferry love that xylophone I'm coming for you 🌞
You went to a club. maybe not knowing if you might get a good pill. If you did you looked forward to that feeling like no other..... starting from your feet and growing up through you body until that rush, that rush of feeling, that need to hold and be near other people. it didn't matter who they were you felt the love! none of this fighting bullshit, just the need to be warm and free. Then the music kicked in..... somehow everyone was your mate, gay or straight, you were there together, hot and sweaty, in the music the next track better than the next, working you and that pill into and your head rushing like mad. A breath, a swig of water someone got you, your mate, maybe, your mate now anyway; that feeling has no bounds and your energy is limitless.......................................................................You see the light!............................pouring through the doors of the place which has been your cocoon for the last 4 hours. That deep breath as the music starts to bring you back up and out of the trance you've been in for the last few hours. Everyone is still there, and the smiles are still around you. I love it and know those who did this every weekend like I did. They are times gone but nor forgotten. Peace to everyone and all and maybe one day we will all feel the rush and be a peace with each other.
+Nick “Johnno” Johnston Thank you , you express the experience very well, don't know what's going on currently (prob shitty pills ) but I don't see people having the profound experiences you usually had with good pills and great tunes.
Beautifully written Nick. I couldn’t have put it any better myself. You see, what you’ve done there is perfectly describe a great many of my messy, but glorious weekends from back in the day. Party Thursday while Sunday night, then recover Monday through to Wednesday. Them were the days my friend.
Nick Johnston Fuck me, couldn’t of said it better myself. I use to be pranging on a weekend, loving that little pill. Buzzing off my face, everyone loving everybody, no bad vibes, no shooting, no stabbing, no stupid arguments. Sharing that bottle of water with a stranger, no one gave a fuckkkkk!!!! Those days of raving was epic, never to be repeated.
Well said!
Nick Johnston bang on the money there Bruv.

Nearly 56 now and thank god for these mixes uploaded on to here. To this day when I am feeling down I retreet to Yuotube and search for those happy, carefree times of back then. Once again I have found them in this mix. Fantastic playlist including some of my favs, like 4 you and alright to name a few. Thanks and god bless all who were lucky enough to experience possibly the best days (mainly nights) this planet has ever had available for the human race to enjoy.
Can't really add anything to the 1553 comments at the time of writing. Suffice to say, for me, this set perfectly captures the SPIRIT & LOVE of house music. Listening to it made me so happy just now. THANK YOU. God I hope my kids get into this. Anyway, back to listening to it all over again :)

@@JustLor7777 When did Freddy mercury die?
@@ElliotFlowers when I was 25, so 30 years ago, i was 21, when he was diagnosed with aids.
@@ElliotFlowers Why?
@@JustLor7777 Well, it was at the end of those 4 years. 92. I was it Switzerland. Been out for 3 days in Zurich. Snowing. Then three days of Queen videos. 88 to 92. Seemed like a long time then. But then it did end.
Classy and authentic house music, with lots of forgotten gems. I’m from the UK, but I imagine this fabulous mix playing in NYC in the early Nineties, at an underground club like the Sound Factory.
