You know why I think many love your videos? Your are like the"Julia child"of pilot vlogs, you don't make it fancy, you explain history and stories of places you go to, and give brief explanations of why you do the things you do. Thank you!

It was a Cristian radio station transmitting out of rules! The issue is not longer on tower frequency. In fact just pilots had it. Controllers never heard it.

Just came across your channel a few days ago. Enjoying the videos! I was in tears with that music on the tower frequency, my goodness! LOL. In terms of filing IFR, I always file on the ground, unless there are challenges in doing so. I always want to reduce the number of decisions I have to make while flying and it's much easier to cancel an IFR clearance in the air rather than picking up one in the air, especially in busy airspace. Also, when it comes to fair weather cumulous clouds at mid-level altitudes, I generally fly through them when I'm solo because it gives you very good IMC practice/experience. The up and down drafts will give you a ride but they aren't strong. It'll teach you to ignore those somatogravic and somatogyral impulses and keep the airplane straight and level if general turbulence picks up on a flight, and the sensations don't last long since you generally come out the other side anywhere from several seconds to a few minutes later. The trick is to do so in the morning or early afternoon before the increase in energy builds them up into the much higher altitude levels, of course, where the wind drafts will be far more severe. But at 6,000' if they are fair weather and light in color I generally go right through.

Cool video again. I have stayed at Casa de Campo a few times (friends home). Played “diente de perro” golf course. My first couple of hours of flight training were at Isla Grande Flying School but ended up training with “Alas del Caribe”. My DPE was Dionisio Reyes, founder of your school. Lot’s of cats in that office. Again, thanks for bringing back some great flying memories from Puerto Rico. Saludos !!!

Got my instrument back in the 70's without the technology of today. Whole other ballgame. And forget getting a decent paying job. Vietnam war was over and hundreds if not thousands of military pilots were going commercial. And there wasn't the private jet industry like it is now. If you got a job flying a turbo prop you were at the top of the pyramid in the private world. Flying jets was very hard to come by. This is basically how Southwest Airlines got its start with military pilots retiring. You could very well have a crew that had flown missions over Vietnam. Now there's a shortage and a lot of opportunity. With that said, when I get on a commercial flight these days I always take a good look at the flight crew...lol !! My first commercial job was flying pipeline. For $600/month and was thrilled.

If this aircraft is a 2005 model (and no modification was done), the engine is a Lycoming TI0-540, not a Continental. And, furthermore, that's the information available on FAA Registry for your aircraft.
