This is a good fly to throw in the surf
Yes for sure! Tight Lines👍
I could try that out fishing for peacock bass along the Tamiami Trail in the Everglades.
You have a new fan...great video, thank you for making it! Very helpful, great instruction and that's a really nice looking lure. I look forward to making it.
Thanks for your comment👍
nice fly
one of the more versatile flys I've seen tied. very cool. how much luck have you had with this fly?
Thanks for your comment! I have caught several sea running browns with it in baltic sea, especially during summer times. Also I was successfully catching sea bass with it...
Tight lines👍
Striper candy!!!
yes they are!
NICE, i need this one
Thanks for your comment Kevin!
Very nice Fly! The ez-body tubing you used looks like it doesn't have any mylar tinsel woven in it. It looks like it allows more of the color of the material show through than tubing with pearlescent color. Can you tell me what brand you used or where you got it? Any idea what size? Thanks!
Gregory Lobato correct! Thanks for your comment!!!
Great looking fly. As a guy that is new to this how do you fish a weighted fly like this? Could a use a spinning rod and just cast it out or maybe with a float?
Hi, normally you fish it with a fly rod, fly reel and fly line… if you want to fish it with a spinning rod, you can use Spirolino or Bombarda…. The weight of the fly alone does not allow you to cast it with a spinning rod…
Tight lines👍
Wow! Awesome fly! I bet this fly works great on striped bass and bluefish!
Let me ask you this my friend, if I buy one brand of UV resin from one company and then a UV light from another, do you think they would work interchangeably or would I have to stick with similar brand in order for the UV resin and the UV light to work?
I’m asking because I have purchased a UV light from a fly shop that was on sale but then when I searched AliExpress for UV resins they are so much cheaper than the brand-name UV resins that I saw at the fly shops and on Amazon!
Do you think those UV resins and UV lights are pretty much the same thing in that they all have similar properties and work the same way without having to worry about each company having its own formulas? I know I’m asking a difficult question, but I’m new to fly-tying and would appreciate it very much if you or anybody else could answer my question!
Hey, thanks for your question... My experience is that the resins cure all with general UV lights... Anyway some lights take longer time in one resin and shorter cure time with another resin. This is may due the wavelengths the light is exposing and the resin needs to cure. In general is my experience, that the little more expensive lights do a better job in curing. The wavelenght of 390nm is ok for curing UV resin... hope that helps...
@@flyfish3687 its also a good idea,, to hold the fly in the sun for a while.. styrofoam block work well for a tieing session
👍👍👍👍👍
Great video. Can you give me more information on the tubing that you used? Thanks!
It is from EZ, called EZ tubing... You also can use a mylar tube....
Thanks! Will get some and start making sand eel flys of my own. I hear stripers love this color pattern!
What size was the EZ tubing you used? Thanks
where can I buy the tube fly
thank you for your response
Fish On
Do you mean the tube for the fly? That is EZ tubing....
What Kind Of Glue do You Use
UV resin works good
Would this pattern be effective on the west coast of Florida, around the Sarasota area?
John Harpin Hi, I do not know, did never fish there😫...
Tight lines👍
Yes it will work
@@chrisbukowski9434 thanks for confirmation. I am planning a visit to the area in 2020, from the UK, and am building up my fly selection. Off to the fly vice now lol.
@@sunitaharpin5411 I would also tie up some clouser minnows
Dónde compras esos pelitos
What size eyes are those
Hi Pacific Blue, generally I use for my flies eyes in all sizes depending on the size of the hook. In this tutorial I used Fish Skull eyes in size 5mm... Hope that helps and thanks for watching this tutorial and your interest! Best regards!
Fly Fish Thank you.
which size ex tubing do you use?
Hi, I use them in different sizes, depended on the size of the fly. In this case it was a medium size...
What kind of tubing did you use and where can you get it.
Nice 🎣👍🏼 Thumbs up👍🏼 if you like check out my stuff👀🎣 Greetings from Germany🇩🇪
Habe Dir mal ain Abo dagelassen! Danke!
putting gold flasher?? does fish see gold color?? nothing in the sea or the river is gold color.? does fish have the same spectrum as human?? fool?
Thanks for your comment! Where did you see gold flash in this video?
fool just be aware.
I do not like named fool from people who have a picture with a mask on....
Anyway, there is no gold flash at all in one of my flies!
May it is foolish to write comments which do not relate to the reality!
Ashton, thanks for that comment!
