I live when will got serious moments in the show. It was rare. But even though Eric wasn't smart, he was incredibly wise. I learned a lot from his character. Also the entire Tommy storyline 🥺💔 I loved seeing that side of Eric.
I love seeing them all together ❤️ but I don't get it. They all seemed close, Ben seemed to care about the show. He took the fricken Matthew's family portrait...what happened that made him "ghost" them 😭 I hope one day they work it out.
Someone should have asked them the question why their characters liked the shitty boy bands of the late 90’s given the show was trying to be all philosophical and what not. I never expected them to like death/black metal obviously BUT they could have at least been into the 90’s grunge/alternative of the era.
90s grunge was over almost before the show first aired. Grunge was just about gone in 1994, it certainly didn't last until the late 90s. The late 90s was a lot of hip-hop, boy bands and pop. Rock like Korn, Blink 182, Limp Bizkit, RHCP, etc.

Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains all had multi platinum albums that year but yeah by 97/98 or so it was largely boy bands and Nu Metal. Still there was some alternative. The OC would later fill that void in terms of the characters liking (at that time) non commercial indie rock. It got much more popular after it was introduced on that show though.
