Bohag Bihu marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year and the coming of spring. It is a time for eating and enjoyment. During this season, locals celebrate the festival with songs known as Bihugeet. Tauling Porota Oi is sung in a language called Tiwa, that is spoken by an ethnic group from Assam.

There are a total of 19+ tribes of kachari origin. The language they use is 70-90% similar to each other. Even the looks among them is almost same.
