No he’s right. They’re gunning it either for fun or because they don’t understand how to use the vehicle’s features. Atrac doesn’t work when you floor it and that would have gotten them over pretty much everything in the video.
These vehicles are very capable, I have personally extensively challenged every one of them, along with the FJ & that glorious V8 4Runner from the early 2000’s! I can't tell if the drivers are just screwing around for fun or are completely incompetent idiots, but most of the struggles we witnessed were easily avoidable driver errors 🙄🤣
It does not seem like people are using 4low. Can tell especially with the gx460 as I have once since the offroad traction control was not kicking in when the wheel was lifting.
They didn't have the central locker on that is for sure... prob not in 4Low either as the GX's ATRAC would not ever have let that wheel spin that much.
I agree. I have the "twin brother" of the GX460, a (2016) Land Cruiser 150 (Prado). If that GX460 used MTS in the "Gravel/ Loose rocks" mode or simply used Crawl Control in speed 4 or 5, the result would have been totally different and no wheel spin.
No doubt - love that they made a video but the way they used the vehicles made me cringe. Those features are there for a reason and they FINALLY have a reason to use them but don’t.
Great videos ( Toyota Fan... ) funniest thing I see. The GX is a also livery vehicle as well. Great videos once again. I own an LX 100 series. Keep the comparisons coming brother
What year is that GX460? That car do not have open diffs, but it sure looks like it in this video! Did they turn off everything? It has Multi Terrain Select, if they put it in "Gravel/ Loose rocks" -mode it would have locked those spinning wheels instantly. It also have Crawl Control, witch would have made that car just crawl up the hill in the beginning of the video, all without wheel spin and without even touching the gas pedal. The Land Cruiser 150 (or Prado) did never come to the US, but the twin brother GX460 did. Under a little different styling the GX460 is actually a Land Cruiser 150. I have a 2016 Land Cruiser 150 myself and it has a locking center diff, locking rear diff, Crawl Control, MTS (Multi Terrain Select) and air suspension/ KDSS. It can take all the obstacles in the beginning of this video without wheel spin, with no problems at all. Why the GX460 had all that wheel spin in this video remains a mystery... In the hill from 3:10 he did choose a very bad line and should have asked for a spotter. With a better line, a good spotter and Crawl Control the result would have been different for sure.
GX and LX are phenomenal. Something was wrong with that black GX though.... it's almost like he manually turned off ATRAC... that wheelspin made no sense... seems like a beginer's workshop with poor momemtum and lines
Same on the LX570's rocky ascent. ATRAC should have brake the spinning rear passenger tire on the GX460. Maybe center diff is not locked or Traction Off button is held off for > 5 sec (disable ATRAC). The LX570 is applying too much throttle. ATRAC work more effectively around 2000 rpm. Plus it's a 2013+ LX, it also had MTS - Rock mode that would have engaged the brakes much faster than the regular ATRAC. Too much throttle will not allow the brakes to engage. More power! 😜
Why are you driving them so fast? They would just crawl up those hills in Low range and not break a sweat. Rookie drivers. You are just damaging them in the long run.
That one Lexus center diff WAS NOT WORKING.. then again- just now noticed the silver one isn't EITHER-- Or they just don't know how to use it properly.
I hate it when amateurs test vehicles they don't understand on how how to handle them. For example in the beginning of the video the dude who was driving the GX 460 needs to by himself a VW Beetle and be content with it. Useless!!
It was on street tires and the driver had no idea what he was doing. I would say it impressed more than anything given the other trucks were lifted with all terrains.
Luxury suvs aren’t actually meant to go off road. They’re just meant to look capable and pretty. Ain’t planning to purposely get my lx570 muddy and beat up on some rocky trail. Besides my beast is 3 tons which is really not meant for those lose gravel/rocky inclines. Saving those special features for real emergencies like when I have to run from the walking dead.
I've seen these things- pure stock- outperform JEEPS-- so these guys should NOT be getting stuck like that on that gentle a slope-- even with the rocks, etc..
2:52 that LX don’t give a damn 😂
Those trucks would idle over all those obstacles. No reason to hammer the gas like that. Rookie off-roaders!
Keyboard offroader right here. Hills NEVER look big on video.
No he’s right. They’re gunning it either for fun or because they don’t understand how to use the vehicle’s features. Atrac doesn’t work when you floor it and that would have gotten them over pretty much everything in the video.
@@Zarduhasselfrau34 I think Atrac also only engages automatically in 4low. At least for the gx.
@@Zarduhasselfrau34exactly. Atrac is disabled above 12mph
People that drive fast offroad have no idea how to offroad
Every vehicle in this video needs a driver mod.
I love seeing luxury suvs actually being used for off-roading
check out our channel to get your fill!!
Too bad they’re destroying the GX 460.
@@EdsonATorres it can take a beating,it’s a Lexus body on frame suv after all
@@EdsonATorres what? The GX460 is an offroad tank

Even in 4 High, TRAC would've kicked in and braked the spinning wheel. (less aggressive A-trac) So they probably disabled TCS

@@numbersaviation not if the center diff wasn’t engaged. Atrac in low functions differently than in high
great video considering trade in gx for a lx470 now

Bro really off-roading a tcl ? Legend
Where is this place? In North Jersey and Id love to see what my stock taco can do here 😆

为什么不用爬行模式呢?
That LX need some lift and M/T Tires
That hills too loose, need lockers or big muds, or both.
Such a difference in driving skills.
Can someone school them how to off-road and may be how use the right accessories.

@@runnerxa I think the driver manually disabled atrac by holding the traction button in
He should of had his center diff locked. That’s why the back wheels were spinning out.
Flooring it turns off atrac. It only works below 2000 rpm I believe.
Diffinitely pilot error. Lol
Asia buffet great
These guys are just gunning it without using the features that it's made to be used for that situation..
LX570 for the win for me.
at 2:40 no a-track?
wow, stock gx460, amaze!
What trail/park is this?
Most videos are from Rausch Creek Off Road Park and Famous Reading Outdoors in PA
My favorite is Lx470 😮
Kindergarten Offroad rookies !!! My lc‘s wouldn‘t need 1 min. up there!
They give bad name to the mighty Land Cruiser
where is this?
They never say where
i have a feeling that this channel bought these vids from someone else...
Good day. Where can I buy a ready-made Lexus 570 off-road. As in the video.

Crawl control? Comes standard
Wtf is wrong with that gx460? Mine would've used atrac without being in 4lo, or locked up.
'hit the gas and the brake at the same time....' :/
It triggers the system to put power to the wheels that are not rotating.

I can only assume none of these drivers now how to use Atrac smh.

Why would it?
Drivers have no idea about off roading. Also, they could turn on crawl control and easily out of there
Worst drivers imaginable.

Embarrassingly bad driving. That is how you destroy equipment and kill people. Practice, practice, practice and the first thing is - SLOW DOWN.

Get a Jeep ffs!
Build quality is trash compared to the Land Cruiser.
