    This video was made by Di.cardistry, it's not Shin Lim's. Shin Lim only reuploaded this video. I want to help these guys and thats why i corrected this. (They have only 2,5k subs :o)

    man, I really like your videos. you're one of the few "reacts"-guys that seem to really know what's going on and where it's at. it's really a bummer when you're watching some guy "react" to something and you realize he doesnt know what he's talking about (there is this guitar player dude...) - what a waste of time, and in the worst case these guys spread false information. you seem to know things and have actual experience - very good, thanks!

    I love seeing the guys with crazy double joints doing cardistry. And I've seen Diamond Jim Tyler do his robot fingers and then pull off some really great coin magic, he can do a muscle pass a couple feet. And my fingers are way double jointed which sometimes feel like it gets in the way, fingers just lock in weird positions. But maybe it could actually be an advantage for some people.And I thought that ball was for fortune telling.

      Nero Mathers think 2 years of grinding is patient enough?😂 I've come up with a fair few flourishes over the years bit nothing too fancy or anything like that. Much rather practice a bottom deal and my classic pass tbh. 😂

    • @JohnsConga
      @JohnsConga Před 6 lety +2

      Taran - Magician/Entertainer I enjoy Cardistry because I when I spend weeks creating a my own flourish and after it's complete, it has this amazing payoff feeling that so satisfying and feels like I have some connection on the art I've created. That's what makes me continue to do Cardistry, I don't learn move very often but I try to learn the one I think are cool! I really want to learn Pandora, acridid, and albatross!

    Feels like you really don't understand the whole point of doing cardistry. It's not meant to be a performance art where you perform to laypeople like magic is. The reason for that is the one big difference between magic and cardistry. In magic, to appreciate the performance you shouldn't know the method behind the effect, right? Whereas in cardistry, you can't really enjoy it if you don't know those methods used in it. The stuff from that video probably doesn't get big reactions because it's too complicated for a layperson to understand. You'll get better reactions with a spring. Because to really appreciate a complicated move you need to understand the mechanics behind that move. And that's why cardistry, unlike magic, will always be an art form for the artists, not for laypeople to enjoy.
    Cardistry is all about having fun with cards alone and with other cardists, connecting with people and expressing your creativity :)

    • @scattered8451

      Juho Vuorela I agree, seems only people that fully appreciate Cardistry is people that do Cardistry.

    • @Magetank4445
      @Magetank4445 Před 6 lety +2

      While I agree mostly with your statement, it doesn't take an artist to enjoy art. People can be impressed and enjoy art withour knowing how hard it is or how much time it took. The low viewership and appreciation of cardistry are results of how niche the art is.

    • @MsSaxoBeat257
      @MsSaxoBeat257 Před 5 lety

      What are you on about? I thoroughly appreciate cardistry and I'm a lay person. It's mesmerising.
      Also, knowing how a magic trick is done doesn't lessen the impact. You are probably thinking of stage magic with the whole floating and girl disappearing act. There is so much more to magic.
      In many cases knowing how something is done and the skill and practice required to pull of such a trick makes you appreciate the performance even more.
