- My very first Air Rifle i think some might enjoy it. Revisiting this gun and i want to see what i really had 10 years ago so we'll put a good scope on it, try a few different pellets. We'll run it through a Chrony and do the Accuracy test on the next part.
- Sport
Accurate and precise with aftermarket scope 6x6 metal plate at 100 yards with premium crossman 7.9 gr hollow point pellet.... I’ve bein amazed of this air rifle since I was a child.
I love this gun.... I've sold my first one and made a profit, so I got another.... Custom paint job done on it and I have the barska 3-9-32 set up and loving it....
This was worth watching just for the chronograph data. We can never REALLY tell how hard they're going to shoot from the ad copy on the box; that's always a bunch of hoo-ha. Thanks for posting it up, and doing all that pumping!
7.9gr 650fps at 10 pumps, 700fps at 15pumps(which is over the recommended but these have been known to hold 25 or more but hard on gun and risks breaking)that's as slow as I wamt the pellet for hunting. Tho 9-10gr still gets up over 500 and is good for less than 20yards.
I bought my Daisy 880 used. It has a fiber optic front sight. Added a scope when the iron sights did not have enough adjustment to zero. Found out that the barrel shroud was bent! I was able to bend it straight again but I would grab my breakbarrel Gamo first for hunting. For target practice the 880 is far easier to shoot accurately.
Great gun the best really pump air rifle on the planet
great review. thanks
germanshepherd13 thanks bro!
Good video man. I just subbed your channel, keep shooting! :)
916OnMiNeZ thanks for the support I'll be posting some soon
i was in the mood for a test with using only a single pump to see how far one pump would get me, after light oiling of pump i tried the h/n field target 5.56 grain alloy pellet hit my can at 35 yards with turret elevation at almost max, about 5 clicks away from max, i moved up then to 30 then 25 yards and was able to get medium weight pellets to hit, some of the heavier pellets 20 and even 10 yards to hit the can, but thats expected since i only used a single pump, the stats on my budget hawke scope is 2-7 x 32 mill dot reticle adjustable objective, and a 10 yard up paralax, this cheaper version of hawke scopes actually i am impressed with, since i normally i only have 40 yards max in this yard to play with
Seemed like an interesting test bro. When I was younger, since I was a kid and my brother as well, he pumped it once and shot me in the leg.... Man that hurt!! Even though it was one pump it still stung like a ***** lol couldn't imagine at its full power..... But anyways lol these guns are amazing for a beginner, or for fun plinking. And maybe some close range hunting since it has enough power to do so. I only wish I had more range to test it since I found a pellet that makes it really accurate
I got this and the crosman legacy 1000. I'm surprised at the performance of these $40-45 rifles. Compared to the crosman, this is much easier to pump and so mounting a scope on it is a much more viable option. The Crosman has a little more power (about 80 fps). I could shoot within a quarter at 20 yards all day. Took a few birds at around 35 yards! I have the utmost confidence that I could shoot a squirrel in the brain within 20 yards. Excellent bang for your buck and smart purchase.
UnSelfRighteous .Monk exactly, for the money it does the job well. It's a gun that's meant for 30 or so yards with enough power to take a rabbit or squirrel with ease
how many meters did he shoot And how many grains are the pellets and hunted? what is the biggest thing you have ever hunted with the daisy powerline 880 rifle how much fps does it shoot?
Hey man, what kind of oil do you use for your 880? I don't have a chrony but I recently used pellgun oil and it just seems like it might have lost some velocity. Not positive though, just a feeling
UnSelfRighteous .Monk it has to be sillicone oil like Crosman silicone oil, when you're lubricating the seals especially the o ring where the pellets sits, stay away from solvents they can damage rubber hence feel like you lose power.
use crosmans pellgun oil. wat happening to u normally happens wen u use too much oil. 1 drop is more than enough. also just give it time. the pellgun oil is to cycle through the action and has got to get flowing with all the moving parts.
I believe the BBs r located in the outer barrel once loaded into the reservoir. Not the stock
You're probably right, I haven't use this feature since I first owned this gun years ago
The bbs are held right were ur loading them. They are not held in the barrel area like a red rider.
actually with the Daisy 880 I think it's not recommended to leave a pump in them. With a Crosman and Benjamin multi pumps it is recommended. I like that huge scope. :-)I subscribed by the way.
Dad72hthorn I’ve heard back and forth comments on leaving a pump but I haven’t since. Thanks lol I thought heck if I’m going to go for the best groups on this gun why not put a quality scope on it.
AirgunnerCA and that is so true. You can always put the scope on a bigger gun if you would like. With the right pellet the little 880 can be accurate. I know one of my 880 s likes the cheap Beeman pointed pellets and they're very accurate within I'd say 25 yards. definitely a nice economy rifle. keep up the great videos.
Dad72hthorn like I said I think my old 880 was more accurate with open sights especially with bbs. Thanks for watching this old vid lol 👍
"To leave a pump, or not leave a pump - that is the question........"
Truthfully, the best way to leave a multi pump is with a single pump in the air chamber. It keeps any potential dust or debris out of the chamber, but even more so, it keeps the seals tight against their seats, and prevents any chance of warping or cracking.
However, with pressure in the chamber, small though it may be, careless handling could send a BB down the barrel. I suspect that is why Daisy doesn't endorse the practice, but they don't say that its wrong either.
One thing that I would like to say here - it is necessary to cock the hammer on the Daisy before the chamber will hold pressure. Cocking the hammer lifts it off the release valve. All good so far, but I see many shooters also CLOSE the bolt before pumping. That's the part that should be avoided. Closing the bolt places a BB or pellet in the barrel - ready to go - while manipulating the gun, not just aiming it. Procedure should be "cock the hammer, pump the gun, and when finished pumping and ready to shoot, THEN close the bolt." Let's be safe out there guys.
The Daisy holds 50 BB'S in its reservoir. The Crosman holds 200.
What scope rings did you use ?I've tried 3 different scope rings and they all lean to the right.I ordered a 1 piece 3/8 dove tail 11mm and 2 piece dove tails the same size they still don't fit right.
I used some standard inch 11 mm mounts I got at my local Walmart, last time I checked they still sell em, just zoom into the video and you’ll recognize em right away
I have the same gun but Im having a hard time finding scope mounts that will fit those tiny rails. Do you think you could help me out?
Look for 11mm mounts. They should have them in your local Walmart
Did you say mil dot front sight post?
Most people get 7.5 fpe with their 880. Did you modify yours?
also re do the test at 15 pumps please !
@Jack Squat I pump mines 20 times. Gun still going strong no leaks no problems. No scope just open sights.
how far have you been able to hit a target with your 880 ?
I'm at about 40 yard and I'm hitting snails all day with my 880.
Alexander Garay this gun starts grouping over an inch past 25yd so I'd be lucky to hit a snail with the first shot lol but I do recall my old 880 hitting doves at 30+ yds with it accurately
you should try my favz !!! crossman 10.5gr piranha pellets !
Why u don't start your own. CZcams channel
@@jamespeterson6198 maybe one day bud !
@@rick31869 Cool . Question will h and n Hornets fit a crosman vigilant
did you do any mods on this air rifle?
Where u get the scope
The gun is actually 37.6 inches long
Question, do you need a license to shoot house sparrow in Cali? I don't want to get in trouble so I'm just making sure
mystic_assassin17 if they are causing a nuisance no you don't as long as it's in your property, but you also need to make sure that airguns are legal in your town or city
AirgunnerCA alright , thanks man
info on scope?
Armando Morales hawke varmint 6-24x44 sf
what is the numbers like some are 4×15
This one was a hawks varmint 6-24x42mm if I remember correctly
Yeah? Just superglue that bb loading port shut. Theyll ruin your barrel.
BBS are accurate to 40 yrds @10pumps. when I first started shooting they was not but I been killing alot of squirrel from 35-50yards using BBS only 1 shot kills I only shoot behind the ear I always kill but no scope cause I don't understand the distance and not hitting the center of cross hairs
karl steffens you got a great gun then. My old 880 was more accurate than this one, even with bbs. But not as accurate as you describe yours. For scoping your 880 I'd recommend only with pellets since trajectory is better with them.
mine is leaking from the barrel what should I do?
Most likely the air reservoir is damaged. Better to just buy a new one, you could fix it but I'm not an expert on that
AirgunnerCA Thanks for helping! Its brand new! Also that is my second damaged air rifle. But thanks!
Alex Hernandez Daisy sales a complete seal kit for the 880 for one or $2 I believe.
where can i get that scope
I recommend Pyramid air or airguns depot. It all depends on which one's closer to you so you can get it shipped asap.
Mine didn't come with crosshairs
The front or rear sights?
Scope?
It's a Hawke 6-24x44 vantage scope
This gun does a good job with squirrels birds rats and more pests
The gun is actually like 3.7 pounds and with that scope it’s gonna be a i little more then 4 pounds
Show off the accuracy with that scope.
I will next part will come tomorrow
This all tallys up to around 8 ft pounds, which is good power for 35 bucks at walmart. Enough energy to kill very small animals at close range if you must. More than 15 yard shot on anything bigger than a mouse would be an inhumane death most likely. If you want a fun gun for basic shooting skills then get a red ryder, pump ups do get annoying after a while. If you want something for hunting then get a 11ft pound+ break barrel.
Apparently they can put out close to 10 ft pounds according to another video I have seen. More powerful than I expected.
I did 50 pumps 1100 fps
Lol I’d be scared to do that
never leave air in the rifle...it does not ensure that the seals r working. its the opposite your only putting stress on the seals which within over time will cause leaks.
Abi Kubilis Thanks, I can see the concern but I’ve always left one pump on it and I’ve never had issues with it. It’s more of making sure that dust or other small particles doesn’t get inside the reservoir.
AirgunnerCA I had the same mentallity buddy when I had my first couple multi-pump rifles. After my second one started to leak that's when I stopped leaving air in. U can avoid allowing "dust" in by taking care of the rifle and storing it properly bud
Molina Osmaro you’re right
Don't kill dovs
I didn't...
+AirgunnerCA you sed you hunt sparrows and doves stop killing theme pleas
+Simond Nguyen I didn't on this video though. I've only shot sparrows of they're causing a problem other than that I leave them alone. Doves however I eat
