I did that a few months ao but now I have two ukes and know like 20+ songs (though, I do need a quick reminder of how they go before I can get into them). Once you learn a few songs it gets a lot easier to pick up on the chords and patterns

Yea most definitely. They use a lot of the same chords in their songs (Except the self titled songs) but yea it gets much easier the more you play. I've had mine for about half a year and I know quite a few songs.

+Sadie Goulooze (sadieezizzzle) I feel your struggle. If you sing the song and just strum how it feels naturally it may help you get better at singing and playing. The way I learn is by playing through the song while strumming correctly and not singing. Over, and over, and over, until it's muscle memory then start singing.

You'll get it. I had little coordination before i started playing and i almost gave up because i could not strum and sing for anything. But i hung in there and after a while of practicing, i have it down pat now. Please don't give up, you got this! It just takes dedication.
AwkwardVixen It really helps me to know what word I need to land on at the beginning of each bar for some reason idk I'm not very good at it either but that's what helps.
Ikr it's really hard. You just have to learn either the lyrics or the strumming to the point where you don't have to think about it so you can focus on the other one.

Try just barring the first three strings coming from the top - ignore the G string. Makes it a little bit easier cause you can use two fingers to barre.
try baring the three trings with your first finger and play the note on the top string with your third finger and just let your second finger hang there

It's really hard at first but it's really about proper positioning and pressure (hope this helps you)
I honestly avoid barring, if i can manage doing the chord with all my fingers I do it cause I personally find it easier - so maybe you can try doing that :)

Oh my gosh. I just got my ukulele today and had never played it before. I really wanted to play this song so I gave it a go! I love it so oooooo much!!!! I performed the song to my parents when they got home and they were so surprised that I got my Uke because they thought it wouldn't come in until my birthday. Is this a good beginner song? I just got a uke today and I'm really struggling.. at everything lol I try differ songs but I'm having issues. any tips????? my finger gets stuck while strumming and G is extremely hard for me HELP!!!!!!!!!
The C, Am, F and G chords are good for beginners (i.e. the verse) - but there's a few chords in the chorus that might be a bit advanced if you're just starting out. But even if you're a total noob you'll still get the hang of it with a bit of practice - good luck!

I would recommend starting with heathens if you like that song!! The only hard part of that song is learning how to sing and strum at the same time!!

I'm getting a ukulele for Christmas, and I've looked up so many tutorials on how to play House of Gold (just so I can know at least something on the small instrument) and this is the most helpful one I've found yet! thank you lots!
First song I'm trying to learn on my uke.... Got it for x-mas, but figured I had to start my new years-resolution of learning uke, on the 2nd of May....
Well I normally break my resolutions by the first week in January, so by not starting until May you're already one step ahead of me!

+Sarah Howlter theres a video somewhere to show you how to do it...I figured out that if you put your hand like you;re holding a cup, and then press your thumb down on top of your index finger, you can more easily strum. Lemme know if that helps.

it doesn't mater if you do or not as long as you hold down the third fret fof the first string what happens before that doesn't mater

make a gun shape with your fingers and bend then toward the ukulele and use your nail to strum down then use the bottom of your finger to strum up:) might not be what you're looking for but i hope it helped
Try down-down-up-up-down-up, it's much easier and sounds just as great.

AGHH! I can't do the muted C or whatever its called. I REST my other fingers and push kinda hard on the C note, but then it seems ALL muted! I keep practicing, every day, but I just keep getting all the notes muted. I'm still pretty new at the ukulele. HOW do you people do this C muted thing?
At first it's hard, just practise it! There isnt really a technique. :)

try using a pick
I actually wouldn't use a pick, because then you'll get accustomed to it and you won't want to strum without one. This was happening to me too, and I really think it just requires practice. I played everyday for two weeks and it eventually stopped happening to me. :) Hope that helps! Also, did you watch his video about how to strum?

I found that dduudu sounds better and you can mute just the tøp 2 strings in the intro and it has more of a ring to it and you can use your thumb to mute them, love this tutorial and your channel ♡
