- Sandakpur is located in Ilam district at an altitude of 3636 meter above sea level. The spot has some amazing sunrise and sunset views owing to its height. “Sandakpur or Sandakphu” is a mountain peak in the Singalila Ridge on the border between India and Nepal.
For our third episode, we explored the magical East Nepal which included places like Janakpur, Shree Antu, Kanyam, Ilam & finally Sandakpur.

इलामको सन्दकपुर (सुलुबुङ)मेरो माइती भए पनि म एकपटक मात्र सन्दकपुर/सन्तपुरको डाँडामा गएर सूर्योदयको दृश्यावोकन गरेकी छु।त्यो बेला कात्तिक महिनाको अन्तिममा सूर्य बिहान ,५ बजे उदाउन सुरु गरे ६ बजे सूर्यको डल्लो देखिएको थियो। त्यो ५देखि ६ बजे मलाई पृथ्वीमा होइन स्वर्गमा बसिरहेकी छु जस्तो लागेको थियो।
श्रीअन्तु सूर्योदय देखिने राम्रो ठाउँ भए पनि सन्दकपुर एसियाकै राम्रो सूर्योदय देखिने ठाउँ हो। नेपालबाट सूर्योदय देखिने सबैभन्दा राम्रो ठाउँ हुने त भैगयो।
सन्दकपुरसम्म बाटोभरिका रमाइला दृश्य खिच्दै सन्दकपुरको यति राम्रो भिडियो बनाउनु भएकोमा धेरै खुशी लाग्यो, धन्यवाद।
सुलुबुङमा एकजना/(रिजाल साल्दाई)संग कुरा गर्नुभएको रहेछ हो त्यै zero भन्दा तल्तिर मेरो जन्म भएको, हुर्केको ठाँउ हो। त्यहाँबाट ३/४ km उत्तर पूर्वमा रहेको टोड्के झरना छुटाउनु भएछ।
तपाईहरुको यो टोली कार्तिकको अन्तिममा फेरि सन्दकपुर घुम्न आउनुहोस् र सिधै इलाम बजार आउनुहोस्। त्यहाँको चियाबारी एक दिन भरि घुम्नुहोस्।त्यसपछि सुलुबुङको बाटो टोड्के झरना हेरेर माबुथांमको टुप्पोमा गएर दिनभरि गुम्बा, इलाम ,झापा, धनकुटा भारतको दृश्यमा आफूलाई विलाउनुहोस्,। साँझमा सूर्यास्तको दृश्य हेर्न सन्दकपुर डाँडामा पुग्नुहोस्। नेपालकै होटलमा बास बसेर बिहान ४:३० मा डाँडामा पुगेर क्यामरा सेट गरेर सूर्योदयको दृश्य को लागि राख्नुहोस् अनि आफूलाई freely त्यो स्वर्गमा विलय गराउनुहोस्।
बिहान ७ बजे नेपाल पट्टिका डाँडामा रहेको कन्काई माईको मुहान र नजिकै रहेको मन्दिरको दर्शन गरेर सकेसम्म पैदलै माइमझुवाको बाटो हुँदै देउराली आएर खाना खानुहोस्। त्यहाँबाट १५ मिनेटको पैदल यात्रा गरी माइपोखरी जानुहोस्। दिनभरि माइपोखरीका नौ वटा कुनाका विषेशता अध्ययन सहित परिक्रमा गर्नुहोस्। पार्क घुम्नहोस्। लौठ सल्लाको र अरु जडीबुटीको बगैंचा अवलोकन गर्नुहोस्। एक रात त्यहीका होटलमा बसेर मज्जा तात्तो तात्तो थुक्पाको मज्जा लिनुहोस्।अनि बिहानै पैदल जस्वीरे हुँदै इलाम फर्कनुहोस्।
सन्दकपुर आउँदा सन्दकपुर, टोड्के झरना अनि माईपोखरी लाई गन्तव्य बनाएर आउँदा राम्रो हुन्छ। यात्रीले आफूसँग केही खानेकुराहरु बोक्नुपर्छ। बर्खामा घुम्न नआउनुहोस् कुहिरो र हिलो बाटोले धेरै दुःख पाइनेछ। सबभन्दा उत्तम कार्तिक मंसिर फागुन अन्तिमदेखि चैत्र भरीको समय हुन्छ।
