A little behind times it might be new to them but it was new back in Vietnam. New is the computerized electronic Mk-15 Phalanx CIWS: shoots at a range of 6000 yards and fires 4500 rounds a min around 75 rounds a second. He's shooting maybe 500 yards at 50 rounds a min a big big difference

To be fair, it isn't entirely pissing in the wind I reckon. Stuff like this will likely dissuade usage of supertucanos and other cheaper light aircraft. Forcing us to use more complex and advanced aircraft, uping the cost of the war for us. Considering what these guys have to work with, this isn't the worst thing they could do.
