    Little history about OP line with stela dials. The 41 was a company internal code name for OP41, meaning 4:1 the ration of how many watches was made compared to 36mm version. Down the road 36mm going to be more collectible, since there are only few was produced

    These coral red watches are very popular, almost impossible to get at ADs, and sell for more than twice retail on Chrono24 (up to $13,000 USD). But if it's the color of the dial you like, Nomos makes several lines of their watches with the same color dial.

    • @watchandrew
      @watchandrew  Před 3 lety

      This is a very bright dial! Think I’d go yellow, green or turquoise- thanks for the heads up,,, I’ll take a look at Nomos

    @sanjivrpatel Před 3 lety

    Hi Andrew,
    This is the first of your content that I’ve come across. I enjoyed it but just wanted to mention two of your thoughts that I was surprised with.
    1. The writing on the dial may be too small and not easily readable - but that’s a good thing. Rolex have far too much wording on their dials. This is exemplified by comparing 2 line & 4 line dials of the Submariner 5512.
    2. Brands will always differentiate model lines by having some “Good stuff” on the more expensive lines only. This applies more to visual rather than functional “Good stuff”. That is why the more expensive Rolex have an applied coronet and the cheaper lines don’t. It’s not snobbery but just good business practise.
    On the hole, very nice content. Keep it up.
    Regards

    Hey I got to see all the colors at an AD inUtah this September. None were for sale. So cool to look at. I did try on the red/orange. It's a bit startling, and what a great idea you and your pal had...that text would probably look much better in white, but they might have tried it and it could have been unlegible. That has to be a very hard color to get a good contrast with. But here is my thing and I guess I'd like your take on it Andrew: I'm still waiting to get my first Rolex...I have saved enough, so i'm ready. but I just couldn't imagine having one of these colors as my first one. I think they'd be smashing in a collection of maybe 8-10 watches. what do you reckon? Great video as always and looking forward to the Bell and Ross!

    I know that you're still actively on the hunt to fulfill the $15,000 budget. Have you ever considered the Breitling, "Chronomat"??? Particularly one of the versions with the "bullet bracelet." Just wondered. I will say though that unfortunately, they're not real cheap. Around $8,000 USD, if memory serves me. I have heard that you can get a pretty sizeable discount on them on the grey market, and I think even in retail. Don't quote me on that, as I'm just going off of memory. I simply don't have the budget for one.....but I sure as he11 wish I did. They're hands down some of my favorite watches. Right up there with the Omega,"PO"......almost. Best of luck to ya.....

      Very true - I love Omega

    • @allan2098
      @allan2098 Před 3 lety +2

      I like the Aqua Terra as well, but this is disinformation! The Aqua terra retails for £4910 while the OP41 retails for £4700. There is absolutely no evidence that the Co-Axial escapement movement is any better than the Chronergy escapement, in fact, the 3230 has a recommended service interval of ten years to the five years suggested for the Co-Axial. Also the bracelet on the Terra is a dog compared to the Oyster bracelet, which is tapered and micro-adjustable. I would say this all makes the Rolex good value when you also consider the resale values.

    Just seen your channel probably through the You Tube algorithm. I agree with you: Easylink or some micro adjust system and hacking seconds to set the time are vital and omitted from Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe. They call that a Coronet not Crown, for your information and the main selling point of those is the cost; the dial colour and the new movement. I would get the boldest colour possible. But these are already for sale in the grey market at over list price. If I couldn't get one from an Aithorosed Dealer: the only way to verify it isn't a counterfeit and have the 5-year warranty honoured without problems, I would try another brand instead and never pay more than RRP: A Swatch Group brand like Omega; Glashütte Original: Blancpain. Or Richemont Panerai or LVMH Hublot or Tag Heuer.
