is true, but I would've loved the camera to be close to him in combat, be more cinematic, the rendering is completely different in this trailer, it looks almost like they fundamentally changed the engine. Such a shame I don't have a PC, but this is still the greatest game I've played
They had to change the engine from DX9 to DX11, and they also optimized for consoles at the same time, so they had to change a lot.

@Collins Ongaya Nah, the lighting sucks. See the candle on the table, looks worse than Witcher 1. The only thing "better" or I would say with different atmosphere are the shaders and colors as whole. If you want this, there are plenty of mods, it would surely be interesting to play with such a different feel.

Playing it now and can say it's so friggin good and runs beautiful on a mid range pc on ultra at 1080p. After all these years it still looks better than most recent game releases

The best RPG ever created even till today. It is a master piece and easily recommendable to anyone who wants to experience a true RPG genre.

Um, no. Skyrim was an amazing achievement. This came hasn't come out yet. We never know, it can suck, or it can rock. But I'm not going to get to far ahead of myself and say that a game that hasn't even come out yet is better than the legendary Skyrim.
Daren Davison Skyrim was far from amazing and I'd barely call it an Achievement, no offence. Bethesda half assed that game on PS3 so my opinion might sound biased. My comment only relates to the graphics, on this particular trailer, IT DOES LOOK BETTER THAN SKYRIM.

So these are the "much better graphics than the final release" that they talk about? Wow, exagerated sharpen effect really trick people. This version looked a lot more like the Witcher 2, wich is a 2011 game. No way this looks better than the final release.

I love The Witcher 3 and all, but c'mon..
Yeaaah. Witcher 3 was an amazing game but it’s combat is utter trash. I enjoyed the combat from Assassins of Kings more. The combat looked great in the presentation but when I played the game it was overly simplified and boring as fuck.
The combat wasn't what I had hoped. I found it clunky and repetitive. But this game is so epic in every other aspect that I almost didn't care lol...

But I think the game was downgraded a lot, textures were lower res, animations cut out, lighting became flatter, colour palette was changed, draw distances were butchered, grass became a cardboard mess, vegetation density was reduced, npc density was reduced, the ocean waves were flatter, volumetric fog was removed, volumetric clouds were removed, volumetric smoke was removed, roach didn't leave dust particles during a gallop, alpha particles were drawn back etc. This was most likely because the consoles at the time were not powerful enough to produce this kind of visual quality. The only thing better is the character models.

While Skyrim is fun, has great music and atmosphere, It's not nearly as great as people said (completed it 2 Times), while GTA V has much better graphics than Skyrim and It's more fun, it gets boring really fast and story telling suck balls. Witcher 3 is easily the Best game of the decade followed by RDR2, Portal 2, and BOTW

Love the game. The character models in the final game look better than the trailer, but the scene at 0:55 where he's walking towards the houses on fire is incredible, wish it made the final cut.

Lol you people should wear some glasses if you think game was downgraded. This looks exactly like Witcher 2. Low textures with too much sharpen effect and very dark lighting. Only thing that was "downgraded" was foliage.
Now that you mention it, it kind of does yeah. Some aspects are better in this trailer, yet the majority is definitely better in the actual game!
Even funnier, it's obviously not gameplay. Animations too different and out of place, camera angles changing quickly, looks more like the results of an animation program
Well in original plan they wanted to make The Witcher 2.5 so i guess this is what would've look like if they only made PC port then release optimized ports later on consoles.
