All the Strict Rules The Big Bang Theory Cast Had to Follow |⭐ OSSA

- The Big Bang Theory was on screens for more than a decade. And it was a quite hard job for every cast member to keep their show and even make it funnier! So there is no wonder that there were some rules for The Big Bang Theory cast that they had to follow, moreover, one rule is still working!
Ossa is going to tell you all about The Big Bang Theory strict rules. What was the hardest rule for The Big Bang Theory actors, especially for Kaley Cuoco (Penny), to follow so they were dreaming about breaking it? Why does no one want to talk about the show’s pilot episode and what are the differences between it and TBBT that we watched and loved?
How did Wil Wheaton’s and Kevin Sussman’s (Stuart Bloom) improvisations affect on show’s plot and was it actually allowed for actors to change the lines? What was the impact of the live audience on the sitcom set? What was Mayim BialiBialik’s (Amy Farrah Fowler) second job on set and how she was rewarded for it? Why were there only DC heroes’ costumes and no Marvel heroes’ costumes in tv series?
What were the rules of style for every character and why only Panny’s style was various? Why did Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Jim Parson (Sheldon Cooper), and Johny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter) protest and how did it affect Simon Hilberg (Howard Wolowitz), Kunal Nayyar (Raj Koothrappali), Mayim BialiBialik (Amy Farrah Fowler), Kevin Sussman (Stuart Bloom), and Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz)?
Did every member of TBBT cast get the same salary or was someone richer than others? Why it was okay if suddenly everyone start to dance? And what rule for TBBT actors is still going on, while the show is not?
We will tell you everything about TBBT strict rules that every cast end crew member had to follow on The Big Bang Theory set! Let's not delay! We are going to start!

I like how the penny, sheldon and Leonard all took a pay cut in order for the other 4 main actors could get a raise, that was awsome and sweet. Working and negotiating together, just awsome.
Show could have easily went on without Sheldon. Why did it have to end because Parsons quit? The other cast members wanted to go on.
@@kenhernandez8128 do you really imagine big bang theory without sheldon?
@@jdabrenica2259 yes. Easily.
My first thought exactly one of the reasons had such wonderful chemistry. This cast rivals the friends cast for their love and care for each other
@@kenhernandez8128 there wasn’t much left to do with the characters though? In the same way that friends ended as the characters moved into a new phase of their life so did this show. With the exception of Raj they were all married, they’d already done 2 pregnancy storyline’s with Bernie and would have been a third with Penny so a fourth with Amy would have been redundant, Sheldon had gotten his career dreams, Leonard made peace with his mother there simply wouldn’t have been much left to explore….
Taking pay cuts so that the others could get raises was a true friendship between all of them. What a beautiful gesture
i would never do it i would never expect anyone else to do it for me either you can either make friends or make money you cant do both your professional life should never come into your personal life either doesnt matter if your working in mcdonalds walmart or nasa or acting at some point your going to climb that ladder in your profession being close friends with someone at work is just going to cause more problems now people will take advantage because your buddies they will start turning up late for work just doing the easy jobs all the time asking for more time off and holiday say no you lose that friend say yes then other staff will now know your playing favourites with your buddy. try to keep your work life and personal life as separate as you can not saying dont go do things with the people you work with but draw that line between friendship and being a colleague and think about your self dont let anyone come between your hard work its not selfish either and if you got a family then you got them to think about too.
@@evildeed90s God damn that was a runaway sentence.
@@evildeed90spoor them making a million an episode taking a pay cut lmao
@@evildeed90s them taking a paycut of money they didnt need brought the benefit of making the show longer bc it kept morale. doing 3 seasons paid 800 k or one season paid 1 mil, do the math
Yeah the other actors were only multi millionaires, after the main actors took their paycut now the other actors were still multi millionaires with a few mil extra to their names!
Bernadette's wordrobe also changed after she became a mom, before that it was dresses, tights, cardigans. Afterwards it was pants/jeans with dress shirts.
True
That happens to all of us, LOL!!
I love the gradual evolution of all the characters in their dress, hairstyle - even seeing Penny drinking tea along with the others instead of always wine 😀. Absolutely love her style in the last 2-3 seasons. One fun detail you notice if you've watched it all the way through a couple of times ---- the very last scene of them with the closing song (singer sounded like he was almost in tears) - showed Howard on the floor and Raj in a chair. Absolutely love these kooky characters.
And these fee mails want a beta male after they have there fun typical female behaviour
@@merrittreeves7136I hate her short hair and style
In alll seasons
Ha! I knew I was right about the food thing. I noticed halfway through the series that they were constantly pushing the food around on their plates and never actually eating it.
I recently saw some Seinfeld and they do a lot of eating on the show, and they actually eat. I wonder how on earth they managed to do that, if BBT didn't? Both were filmed with a live audience.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S did it too. I remember as a little kid my big sister saying in frustration "just eat the cookie!!!" I think it was Joey and he just held it the whole scene xD
Penny did eat thought
samee
That’s not true. They actually had one of the staff that loved to cook and made them their meals. They all loved his food and counted on him to feed them. I don’t know what this CZcamsr is babbling about.
I imagine the no facial hair rule is more about continuity than ‘looking like a scientist’
I agree! If the show goes into syndication this way the episodes can be broadcast in any order
Well I don't know I like Leonard's beard when he came back from the pole it looked pretty cool look totally different
Depending on what kind of lab they worked in, if they needed to be osha compliant for respirators then they would be required to be clean shaven.
As the wife of a biochemist who has a beard, I can confirm.
I thought it was so they'd always look young to appeal to a younger audience.
The pay thing is admirable. They went to bat for their co-workers, unlike other ensemble shows where the cast members leave (or are asked to leave) because of their demands for pay equity.
That’s not what happened. Read the book that he got all this info from, he skimmed and it shows. But good video overall
Not equity.
Yeah, In the beginning it was mostly the "trio" but in later seasons the other started to show up more, and to be fair that means less screen time for the trio also making it reasonable to cut their gain to increase the others.
What is the name of the book please? @djabner66
The clean shave rule played up their innocence and boyish looks. Beards immediately turn their childish antics into creepy habits
I watched the whole series I think about 30 times now. I'm going to rewatch it again now.
Me too. Made it all the way to season 8 this time and eh, still think it should've ended with season 7
Just watch another show💀
I am sad it ended. Just like the show FRIENDS. WE WILL FOREVER LOVE BIG BANG. And still watching reruns for years to come. I actually cried the last episode.
Friends normalized the housing affordability crisis, Big Bang theory normalized the boys club of science.
@@patricialongo5746 I am not trying to be argumentive. Many fields in science have been open to all. My Grandmother became a Doctor before WWII. There were lots of women in University in Engineering. I shared the Bio department with lots of other girls. We were breaking that ceiling decades before the show.
@@poodlegirl56 I'm lucky my family has such women, too. I descend from them. My first degree was a Bachelor of Science degree. I'm still big into it. The impression given at my college, prep academy and grad school was that of the Big Bang theory-. Women were outsiders and newcomers at Amherst, Choate, Harvard and other places I went in the seventies and eighties. I'm not sure how they had the cheek. Chuck Lorre is very entertaining-. But he definitely works with such men. The comedies Friends and Big Bang are very politically reactionary. They give misogynistic false impressions and promote the precarity of the working person.
I think it was good it ended. Sometimes I had the feeling that they were running out of ideas
@@patricialongo57463 men and 2 women of the 7 were scientists… how is that a “boys club”??? Stop forcing sexism into everything we’re there isn’t any
1m$ per episode thing is still pretty crazy to me even though it is the case in other successful sitcoms. BUT COMON 1 MILLION per 20 minute episode?? REALLY?? That’s crazy
the penny sheldon relationship was the main thing for me
Same ngl
This show will forever live inside our hearts till our very last day on this planet. Love it beyond words can ever portray. 😭♥️
lol, if you say so. Ive seen it a few times, and never cared for it.
Bazinga!
agreed. I still watch the re-runs regularly...it is my go-to soothing TV show before bed
David Saltzburg of UCLA was the one who was in charge of the scientific details on the show, being a physicist-particle physics and high-energy neutrino astronomy. Mayim, by her own admission, was nowhere close to qualified to be in charge of the white boards. Her input was limited to making sure the right kind of microscope was being used in her lab, or the samples were sliced appropriately.
Ironically she was the only actor on the show who actually had a PhD (in neuroscience).
The no eating thing is super common for tv shows and movies. I thought it was pretty common knowledge 😅
I always loved the fact that Jim, Johnny and Kaley took a cut so their castmates could earn more. They all have such a big respect for each other
Great show and shows how great the actors were, even some taking a pay cut, that is real compassion
come on they didn't get paid mimium wage they were paid handsomely still don't oversell this point. 😔
@@christophersmardz8196 that is true, but the thing is they didn't have to, how many people in the entertainment industry would do this, i would say nil, they are all money hungry
@@iridium8341 cant please everyone
they were absolutely crazy to edit out wil wheatons impro at the movie scene
"YEAH LIVE LONG AND SUCK IT" is easily on top 5 TBBT quotes lmao
They did, however, reference Tony Stark as their favorite superhero and Sheldon mentioned the Hulk many times, he and Raj even had a deal where Raj gave his Hulk hands to Sheldon in order to get Sheldon to go on a double date with him. I did find it interesting how they would always talk about Captain Kirk is idolizing manners but, when it came to dressing up, Lenard would pick Picard and there was an episode where it was showing Lenard interview for the roommate opening with Sheldon and Sheldon asked Picard or Kirk where Lenard picked Picard and it was the right answer to Sheldon. They even had William Shatner on the show one but I don't recall ever seeing Patrick Stewart.
When Sheldon interviewed Leonard to be a roommate he asked "best Star Trek" Leonard said original as best series but Picard as best captain.
well, picard over kirk but DSN over TNG

Young Sheldon!
About styles, you forgot that Bernadette always wore a dress, cute shoes, mіni sweater and tights
Which strict rule of TBBT would be easy for you to follow?
To accept the paycut of my co-stars to get more money
Keeping clean shaven.
If I don't shave every day, my face itches so bad, I want to rip off my face!!!
It would be great if they did a follow up movie together in a year or so.
I once heard that Johnny Galecki was supposed to be Sheldon and Jim Parsons was supposed to be Leonard but when Johnny was reading the script he felt like he fit the role of Leonard more rather than the role of Sheldon
Yep. The same thing happened with Bert and ernie.

I'm a senior and I don't watch much TV, I never saw TBBT when it was on the air. However, I'm loving the reruns, my wife and I are junkies. Good entertainment!
5:03 Howard didn’t wear turtlenecks he wore Dickeys😂 I only know because he corrected Sheldon in one episode and in the one where Howard, Raj, Leonard, and Leslie Winkle beat Sheldon in the physics bowl! He tears his shirt off when they win and you’re able to see it😂
Kaley Cuoco owns my heart and everything I learn about her makes me fall in love
I loved Howard's color coordinated outfits right down to the shoes.
Yeah the food-pushing around the plate was kind of annoying from the start. You do realize tho why they do it and it's explained quite well :)
“Your crusin’ for a beatin Wheaton!” Gott be my favorite 1 liner from the show
Honestly, this was really nice. No snarky comments, no judgement really well done...
Great vid
Stuart should have his own spinoff.
The unbreakable rule 'do not be funny'. I think the cast's commitment to this one was awe inspiring
Bazinga!
Great series
Oh no only 900k per episode? how will they survive.
Awesome video
This will always be my favorite show of all time !
Stephen Hawking, Leonard Nimoy and Stan Lee all were all featured, repeatedly
BBT was no ordinary Sitcom, it was Legen waitforit DARY
I would actually feel bad as a fan being so entertained by all of the characters and knowing they weren't equitably paid. I know equity is a word that is frequently misused these days but in this case it is applicable as it means they receive a similar compensation based on their roles in the show. That decision not only mattered I assume to the actors, but the fans as well and reflected well on the show as a whole. Doing the right thing is never a bad idea.
Riiiight because equality is so natural right? Nature is 100 percent equal right?… idiot
I wish they had demanded the same pay like friends
@@kkrb1212 I don't think that would be right. Don't forget that while the show was a huge success, the previous pilot was a disaster that Parsons and Galecki had to live through. They deserve a little more for that. Probably didn't pay so well in the early days. It's kinda like back pay for their low wage days.
Why are a lot of the scenes mirrored in this video?
Dressing in a certain style that would be hard, I love watching this TV show and DVR episodes
With the facial hair thing... its less about being "manly-men" and more that a significant amount of scientists and science-adjacent fields don't have beards, simply because they could be contamination factors, and they tend to be tightly controlled in many fields, such as having to wear unsightly/inconvenient beard covers.
Source: I work in a fab for production of integrated circuits. This is also just a guess.
Not in almost any physics laboratory/workspace. Even the nuclear physicists tend to keep their beards, if they wear them, and just understand that-should the worst happen and they be called to a disaster site-they will have to dry shave in a hurry to don their PPE.
The BBT folks that had non-contaminant-containing workspaces could absolutely have had facial hair from a safety standpoint. But it helps to keep them looking young when they don’t-they did the same for Sam and Dean on SN for years for that very reason.
Source: my circle is a bunch of engineers and physicists. (Myself included - Big nerd group.)
@@hj7947 yeah lots physicists have beards lol
I still watch re-runs of this show.
They used the Iron Man mask in an episode
Thanks
I love that they equaled out the pay!!!!❤😂
Great example of collective bargaining at the end and how useful it is when negotiating wages.
It always bugged me how they would fiddle around with their food but never ate anything as much. Now it makes much sense that is is a rule they had to follow.
I hate eating noises so I appreciated it.
I have to admit that I never really noticed that they didn't actually eat the food. I wasn't paying attention to the food, but to the dialogs and conversations instead.
You ever try having a conversation while eating? It doesn't exactly make for good TV.
it is nice detail that they had this rules but you can see in the show that some parts which became running gags are not mentioned to happen in the beggining
Live long and suck it- brilliant line!!!
This cast was so good.
Each character played their part well
Great, great show!
I remember, I used to hate this show. Idk why either. I don't remember how or what I used to watch that would sometimes intertwine with sometimes catching pieces of the episodes, and I don't remember if they were new episodes or reruns but man I used to hate the show. And suddenly one day I just turned to loving it. It's one of my top 5 ish shows. Seinfeld, King of Queens, Big Bang, Chicago PD, The Goldbergs.
They all look so good naturally when we see them on screen and off screen, it makes a vast difference though
WHEATON!!!
Kayley talked about Penny's wardrobe evolution.
I come from a bloopers on Big Bang Theory video and I get to this one and immediately says oh they can't ad lib and the other video was them a ad libing so much, someone's lying here
Don't put food in front of me unless I'm allowed to eat it. 😂 😂 😂
LOL - I really love this show.
Hey, how come these are reverse mirror images??
We need more people like that. The top actors Jim, Johnny and Kelly took a pay cut to make sure their fellow co-stars got paid as well. It’s sad we don’t here about that as often
What I wouldn't give for a reunion show!!!!!
Love the videos
One the greatest Sitcoms ever.
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries
That all started with the big bang (bang)
Willing to earn less, to be fair for fellow cast members, another reason to LOVE this show :)
Best US comedy hands down, each person was an integral part of a well oiled machine,
Love them all❤️👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
about the facial hair. Bert was just as nerdy as the main cast and he had a full beard lol
You mean the guy that appeared in about 5 episodes?
he was never a main cast member
I assume he already had the beard when they casted him. And I have seen him without it - trust me, if you think he looks weird now, you havent seen nothing yet.
Why are all of the clips backwards?
8:25 This is the first time I heard a show's lead actors/actresses would take a pay cut so others could get a raise. Made me love the show that much more :)
It has been done before. Gilligan's Island it was done ,like theme song was changed to include the Professor & MaryAnn a"instead of "& the rest" or Gilligan would WALK OFF.
They still made more but it was very nice of them.
Happened in Friends too! Where David got all of the actors to negotiate together instead of being paid more.
@@vijayalakshmiravishankar That was a bit different. They were smart enough to stick together to get the same money. In BBT, the top stars gave up some money to spread it around.
@@tryithere it's actually the same coz David and Courtney and Jen were being offered more money than the rest. So when they chose to negotiate together, it actually meant that they were ok to give up being paid higher in order to be paid equally
Why is every scene inverted? Or mirrored?
Is this a copyright thing to avoid, or something about cinematography?
Didn't they do different versions of The Hulk? Ferigno, Bana, Norton and Ruffalo? Or was it just verbally mentioned?
It was a big show, I am sure the producers could still afford the pay increase even if the others didnt do a pay cut. It’s very big and sweet of Leonard, Sheldon and Penny to do so. WIsh they make a movie. Just to show that other part of their lives with their families and kids.
Omg, the actress who played Katie in the pilot, which I've never seen, is Amanda Walsh. She was a MuchMusic VJ up here in Canada when I was much younger.
Was she the same one who was in the music video, Somewhere Out There, by Our Lady Peace?
@@youcantspellghostwithoutgo26 I don't know. I think she won a VJ search. I'm not familiar with that OLP video

they should do a seinfelt type show where its after the bbt but they still live in the same neighborhood
4:00 that’s not entirely true. Sheldon wore the Hulk gloves at one point. I know that’s technically not a full costume but still.
You're right, Scott 👍 But they did avoid using mcu characters often 🙂
4:35 guess were just forgetting when sheldon wore howards iron man helmet
I’ve never watched one episode of this show. Just in a rabbit hole and thought I’d check it out
It’s a pity that impromp is not allowed. It make no sense just because they shoot it in front of the audience. Friends did it too, and some of the most iconic lines were impromptu.
They got paid enough to put up with shaved face, and no eat food.
Love BBT!
They mentioned Iron Man and Sheldon wore Iron Man's helmet during the fight with Howard.
And they had hulk hands 🤷♀️
There were only DC comics in Stewarts comic book store as well.
When you show clips, why do you flip the vertical axis so it looks like its in a mirror?
I love all the actors. Sometimes I would have to close my eyes when Simon would chew with his mouth open....it's probably just me... lol
4:20 we saw Sheldon wearing Iron Man helmet
Howard also let his facial hair grow during his time in space on the show
That is a lie about Myim having to make sure everything was right, it was not her job, I have heard to state that too many times that it was not her job to do that.
Any info on Howard & his alien pins he always wore on his turtleneck?
i totally noticed that only Penny was actually eating the food! Lol Love Kaleyyy

Mayim as technical consultant, really blew one thing big: when Amy told Sheldon to wash a tray of "beakers," I think only one of the items on the tray was actually a beaker: the rest were flasks.
That's hardly a big thing though.
@@ws4857 if they were relying on her for technical accuracy it seems at least as important as having one or more people checking the equations on white-boards etc which most people wouldn't have a clue if they were correct or not.

Why are most of the camera shots backwards?
Yeah. They do that in most television shows. I was assuming they did that, because they was supposed to be reciting lines. So, that make a lot of sense to me.
Has no one else noticed that on the ossa videos TBBT sets are always backwards
As a theater kid they improve us to improvise if someone misses a line
