I'm married to a Turkish-Armenian who is a Christian. Of course we have many Muslim friends there and we have no problem with them, but not everybody is like that. There are extreme people who throw stones to the ones who work during Hamadam, not to mention the first thing that shocked me during my first time in Turkey was that their religion is mentioned in their IDs. I had never seen such thing before. It's exactly to make separation and treat differently.

Then they go and see the deputy mayor of Mardin who is also Christian. Incidentally on their way to Mardin they pass by a refugee camp, one of many in that country, accommodating 3.5 million Syrians and Iraqis who are registered, in addition to maybe another million or two who entered Turkey illegally, some of whom are also Christian. Again, I find it sickening that the Orthodox Catholic Church (which has been there long before Islam was even a thought), is being targeted as if they’re some sort of hate group. They don’t hate anyone, even those who discriminate against them. That’s because of their faith. Christ told us not hate, but to love our enemies. We can’t judge the heart, but we can judge actions. That is exactly what the Orthodox Church is doing. They don’t hate those people, but they have this righteous anger. The same righteous anger that Christ had when he drove the money changers out of the Temple. He didn’t hate those people, but he was angry that they were exploiting the Faith, and so he felt the need to clean house. I will pray, that the Orthodox Church will continue to fight the good fight, and those who hate God and his followers will convert towards him. He will come again in Glory to judge the living and the dead, and his Kingdom shall have no end. Stay strong, keep the faith, and believe that on the last day, God will triumph over the Universe.

Funny thing is that the Turks are not even ashamed to call us out on human rights and religious freedom. In western Thrace a part of Greece near Turkey lives a small muslim minority of turkish origin and the greek state allows them to follow sharia law since 1922. A few years ago they were protesting because the vast majority of them wanted the abolishment of sharia law(!!) In Greece and their cases to be examined only according to Greek and European law. Now this kids blood runs in this land far before the Turks even existed as a race, a Greek of Constantinople,a Roman. In 1955 the Turks expelled from Istanbul almost 100-150.000 Greeks, took their homes and never even compensated them. Greece respecting human rights and the fact that the turks lived here for hundreds of years didn't kick the muslims out as they were considered equally Greek citizens. Shame on Turkey..

THATS WHY as a foreigner who could have nothing to do with this conflict, but still here I am to say, one day Greece must recall or initiate buy-back policy...to reclaim Constantinople.
The city belonged rightfully to the Byzantine Empire, inhabited and governed by the Greeks: imperial dynasties, AND the people.
Taken as an act of war by the Turks, as well as an act of violence, discrimination, and genocide upon those who even lived there before them.
Also, the Greeks should even do better, by giving compensation for all the Turks to pack up and return to Anatolia for good.
An offer they should find it hard to refuse.
The Greeks must reproduce population, economy, and pursue military superiority as a bargaining power, like the way the US and Israel did.

The Turkish republic and Turkish society is Secular. A uniter nationalist and modern society. Every citizen is equal under the law. The state nor the society judge any citizen by its roots nor the faith. Everyone is free to practice own mother language and faith unless it is used as an excuse for separative movements. The video shows people practicing faith free and speaking their own language aswell. This type of videos done by Eu-American media is nothing but fantasy when real life has nothing to do with thousands years of old religions, nor thousands years of dead languages from distant past. Meanwhile ordinary Turkish citizens are busy with a struggle to feed themselves and the family every single day. The reality is that.

the really sad part is. Turkey is actually one of the most tolerant Islamic country's. And a country where religion and politics are divided. But of course all of us are constantly reminded that the country doesn't have human rights. Because they are constantly rejected to be a member of the European union just for that reason alone. And since the European union even allow countries like Romania, Bulgaria and even wants the Ukraine to join. You know that a country does some really wrong things since the European Union obviously don't have high demands for countries to join if you allow Bulgaria and Romania to join. I also don't see any changes coming soon since Turkey won't even admit the Armenian genocide ever happened. What is general knowledge. If you don't even admit you did something wrong 100 years ago. How can they admit they are doing something wrong now. Most Turkish people are probably not even aware there is something wrong going on.
