    Without the infrastucture growth the economy cannot grow. To the extend you bite the bullet today while the new rail, road, air, and ship ports are growing/improving . . . the sooner and faster the economy will grow. Those infrastructure projects attract more business, manufacturing, and heavy industry. The Philippines needs it all today, and will need more in the future. Hopefully this new infrastructure provides jobs for those who will maintain and improve it over time.
    Electrical, water, and sewer as well as waste disposal/recycling facilities must come along with all the growth.

    While building infrastructure will definitely help us improve our economy we should also convince our rich businessmen to invest in manufacturing and not only in real estate. We must improve our production so more people will be employed and we can export more. We cannot even manufacture small home appliances now and computers. In the 60's we used to produce our own radios and TVs like Radiowealth but now they have ceased to exist.

    The picture you showed in the video, with homeless and hungry people, is from America, not here in the Philippines. Please don't show that kind of image of the Philippines. Yes, we have many squatters here, but they have a roof over their heads, unlike the homeless in the United States who sleep on the side of the street or build tents on the side of the road. That kind of situation never happens to Filipinos, even if they live in squatter areas. The space they occupy belongs to them, and they are not easily evicted unless there is a relocation plan with a house for them. Only those stowaways who sleep in the church entrance and in the front of some establishment.

    I would rather they develop airports to each province or close provinces that takes over 4 hours land transport to go to Manila or a tourist spot . Traffic is horrendous in every city in the Philippines and even in their highways because you see thousands of tricycles and trucks running at 25 to 30 kilometers per hour. Tricycle drivers do not know anything about road courtesy, they run 20 miles per hour however they do not pay attention to cars or buses running at 60 kms per hour. They drive merrily, slowly and will not give way to fast drivers who are trying to catch the next flight. I wish all tricycles will be removed in the highways. There should be national police officers who guard the highways to prevent tricycles from driving in the highways because they have no road courtesy and discipline.

    They give some projects a budget without dealing first with the right of way that make delays and the money unused is prone to be use in corruption! Some want "padulas" or percentage in every project. Some sure make it overpriced (you can just see it by architecture: mediocre structures, slower trains, if it's ugly with a high price, start to raise one's eyebrows), there's even news in the past use a materials for escalator not match with the recipes (actually had attempt to use a substandard equipment "Ilang opisyal at contractors ng LRTA, nahaharap sa reklamo matapos ma-diskubre na may ginamit"; etc. old news related to corruption are hard to find now if you forgot the title)
    Now, I only believe if only it will materialized (50 years or 100 years from now? Or worst never, Philippines once only next to Japan, then it goes backward and lag behind, and half of ASEAN long surpassed Philippines; South Korea was poorer than North Korea, look at them now!), or else it's just all hypes and remain a dream (only the rich and politician will enjoy wealth? And not the common people?). A country can be a superpower but not developed (general population access to good healthcare, education, and technology; suppressed corruption), like a military state rule by a dictator or tyrant, e.g. North Korea, Middle East;
    Superpower? = Military/Firepower?
    or (at least more) Developed = Prosperity/Civilized

    Dude, your hypothesis is flawed. You forgot the yearly calamities that is happening in the Philippines. Typhon, flooding volcano eruptions, tsunami, earthquakes, flooding, and effects of climate change are some of the few natural disasters that the government must deal with and spend billions of pesos to rebuild. Despite of that, the Philippines learned how to recover and deal with and take care firstly of their citizens, and yet managed to have a robust economy. Yes, there are poor citizens in the Philippines just like other countries, but malnutrition is relative and not a culture nor a way of life. Filipinos are communal people that share and take care of each other. Not like other countries where they have a lot of homeless people living on the streets, in tents and cardboard boxes in affluent cities and drove the businesses out of town. There are informal settlers, but the government is providing housing and relocating them to housing projects. You can't compare the provinces to the modern cities in the Philippines. The provinces are mostly agricultural and there are many fishing villages on different islands. These 2000 inhabited islands out of 7641 islands have their cultural values and way of life and speak over 175 different dialects. How the government managed all these islands may be confusing to the West. Many countries colonize the Philippine Islands but never been conquered. Besides the hospitality and friendliness of the Pilipino people, foreigners must also know the bad, the good, and the ugly side of the Filipinos when they intend to extend their stay on the islands. They are also people but there are many diverse cultures and different languages in provinces and islands. Most of the developments are in the Northern and the Visayan islands and very few in the South. It is only in the last two decades that the Philippines have started accelerating their development despite economic downturn due to covid. They get their independence in 1946 - about 77 years. If it were not devastated during the second world war, the country could have done better. The Philippines must beg for dole outs and loans from other countries to rebuild its infrastructures and social fabric. Take that into consideration. You cannot compare the Philippines to other countries. You cannot also compare the Philippine standards to the Western standards. The Philippines is just its own, non-conformist and very friendly country. Just saying.
