- Many of you have been asking for me to make a Shang Tsung guide, here's a quick rundown of important aspects of the character, what he's about, and how to use some of his moves.

@@Dominus-IVO Wassup man, it’s a 3 directional button input. I forget exactly what it is but I think it’s⬅️⬇️➡️⏹️. I think that’s what it is, haven’t played in a while but if it isn’t you should be able to find it in the special moves section.

I also want to add that spamming fireballs in young form builds meter quickly
So MK1 has been my first fighting game - I did all of the tutorials and understand the game and it's mechanics in concept, but have really struggled putting it all together.
This guide's genuinely equipped me with the tools to start putting all the pieces into place - especially as I had my heart set on this character without quite realising his complexity.
'This is your punisher', 'This is your defensive tool', 'This is your B&B combo/conversion', 'This is some low-risk offense', 'This is your general gameplan' has been all I've needed to start properly getting stuck in and making sense of things.
There's so much depth to Shang and I'm not using everything you covered in this guide right now as I'm trying to still get the fundamentals; but I'm super happy I finally feel like I've had to means to engage in the game - thank you for all the educational and entertaining content!

Shang w/ Sektor feels good because it gives the zoning another set play aspect to it and gives you a little more to help counter zone. Feels like I’m still playing JP in SF a little bit lol
I can’t use Shang due to a disability but that last part was just demon time, ima try though!!!

I've been using Shang w/Goro assist because I like seeing them on screen together, canonically speaking. I would be interested to see anything you can do with Goro assist.
goro is probably the best kameo for shang gameplay wise too btw

I'm a li mei main because I love the combo gameplay. I usually fw shang tsung but I'm against abilities spamming and it seems like that's how I'd have to play with him.

Plz go practice mode and learn his morphing combo's and just morphing in general ive figured out some insane combo's they don't show you like young form b12+jump12+df1/morph+f23+morph/df2 is a crazy combo to learn. Flashy and 300+ dmg. My controller setup up is different so plz check controller setup before trying.

Aye tip for any Shang players, if you want some offensive flow then you can end you combos in s2 and have some good oki it’ll give you like 34% off a mid conversion
wdym end it with s2? do u mean do the fireball then press s2 or s2 on meaty

Any one else having problem when they play as Shang Tsung in invasions. I've been kicked like 6 different times. Trying to farm for this mastery with Shang Tsung. He seems to be the only character having this issue in invasions. I've played as Johnny, Sub Zero and now Shang Tsung and I'm constantly getting kicked off to the main menu
how to play like a pro:
route1: d3d3 grab
route2: dash d3, dash d3
route3: d1d1d1 helicopter helicopter.
The only thing gatekeeping me from shang is the soul steal. Other than that he looks so much fun, thank you foxy!
You don’t have to use it, but it just optimizes the character but he plays very well without it

For the life of me I cannot work out Shang still lmao. Playing foxy is like a legit wall of skull and defense. My shang is a wall of balloons that a toddler could get through

Nah, his biggest weakness is that he has only one overhead. All they need to do is block low and you can't start anything.
Not sure if youre aware or not about this but if you go invisible as reptile or smoke you wont morph back until the round is over and its indefinite in practice unless you put the input to morph shang tsung mains are the best mains

Been watching Foxy videos for years (favorite player by a mile) and wasn’t subbed…I settled as Shang for my main and I have been having the most fun in MK that I can remember.

Who do you think is his best Kameo? I tried Shujinko for the double memes, now I'm back and forth between Motaro and Goro. Motaro for teleport away and extra projectile spam, Goro for better combos... ofc there's better combo extenders than Goro, but lore is everything soooo
