I think Sherpa has received more "presies", a Jamie calls them, than any dog in the history of the world! It shows how much we love this pair!
Also, with all the treats that Sherpa gets, are you able to give some away? Maybe to his friends like Key and Nook but also to shelters and rescues? I'd love to think of Sherpa as England's leading Canine Philanthropist!
Jamie does share out Sherpas treats, I think it was 2 Christmas's ago Jamie made up treat bags for a shelter, there was a video on it.
And he also left out a box of treats on one of his walks where dog owners could help themselves to some as they walked past.

My little girl ⬅️ Kit is 18 next month. Like Sherpa, she doesn't really show her age either. She loves to talk & cuddle too. She was a suprise 'gift' from my mum for my 18th, and has never left my side since. She really is my little girl.

My aunt's dog, a long-haired dachshund, came to our family in 1996 and fell asleep in 2011.
I tattooed the dachshund on my left upper arm to honor him.
So now he feels a little closer to the heart

You two bring joy to my day. I find myself thinking about you, wondering if Sherpa would like this or that kind of chicken ball, trying to get my Hennessey Lola to eat chicken balls. Henney is a Pomchi, or Pomeranian Chihuahua, tops out about 12 pounds. She turned 12 as well, back in December. She was a rescue, I got her when she was only 2. Anyway, Thank you for sharing Sherpa's journey with you. He is much beloved here in Springfield, Illinois, USA. :)

@Sherpa's Day Hi Jamie, I've left this comment on a few vids, but I guess you have never seen it. My older dog suffered back damage, with resulting leg instability & he was walking overtop of his rear right foot digits/ toes. I am really low income, os I had to come up with a way to keep him safe on slipperly floors, for cheap.
I came up with making "booties" out of cheapo latex shelf liners from the Dollar store (the most bendy/ maleable you can get. NOT the plastic, as it is too hard (unless you cannot find anything else). Also, buy a meter of velcro from a fabric/ sewing store (or Walmart might also have some).
Measure Sherpa's biggest paw, and then cut four squares the same size. I'd recommend that you cut 8 squares, to create two full sets of booties. Ensure that the squares will wrap easily around each paw/ ankle.
Also measure out at least one set of ankle fasteners from the velcro meter. Ensure each piece is long enough to wrap easily around each ankles, overtop of the wrapped bootie material.
To create the actual booties: Take each square of latex shelf liner, and cut i/2 way down each side of the square, 1/2 way into the center of the square, to create flaps to wrap aroud the paw. Make sure that you leave an uncut center section to act as the paw "footbed"/ sole. Do this for each square.
To put on: Turn the 1st square on the diagonal (diamond shape), with a point extending up above the paw, one to each side, and the last behind the heel.
Wrap the top point/ flap over to toes/ digits & top of the paw, and wrap around to both sides of the ankle as far as it reaches.
Then wrap the outside "point/ flap over the to of the paw and around the ankle towards the inside of the paw, and to both the front and back as far as it reaches.
Next, wrap the inside flap over the top of the paw towards the outside of the ankle, and to the front & back as far as it goes.
Finally, wrap the back point/ flap around the heel and to both sides of the ankle towards the front.
Take a length of the cut velcro, and wrap it around the ankle to secure the bootie. Best to have the join on the outside of the ankle.
Make sure that the bootie is tight enough for good traction, but not so tight it will cut off circulation. Repeat for the other three paws.
These booties are GREAT for giving older/ injured doggies good traction on slippery floors (blankets, towels and such can move & the dog can slip). They are easily put on and off, are washable and easily portable - no need to lug lots of blankets/ towels with you for the floor. (They are also silent when you dog walks in them).
They "can" be worn outside, but do NOT last long - only 1-2 walks. For outside wear, it is better to buy other booties, and go to your local cobbler/ shoe repair place, and get the best non-slip soles you can afford put on the bottom.
(Though, sadly, NOTHING will keep an older/ injured dog fully safe with unshovelled or icy sidewalks. I had to put my guy dwn because of this. He slipped on the ice under fresh snow on someone's unshovelled walk, & started peeing blood, and, and I had to say goodbye within two days... 😢

So sorry for your loss. That’s sad you didn’t have much time to prepare for what became inevitable.
You spent a lot of time typing out the instructions on how to make the nonslip booties, and I know Jamie would appreciate it if he read your comment. It was a very ingenious idea.
Jamie has not asked me to speak for him, and I hope this helps. I have been following what’s been going on these past few months, and as Jamie explained recently, he and Sherpa had to vacate their home for the month of January having to do with the lease of a “caravan,” as he calls it in a “holiday” park. So, he and Sherpa have been traveling from place to place quite a bit not only to find lodging but also so that Jamie can make videos of their wanders for future showing here. I’m writing this note to you some 23 hours or so since the video was posted, and I see Jamie has not responded to any of the 160+ comments. From my observations, when he does respond to comments, they are ones that were submitted within an hour of the posting. I try to watch out for notifications of new videos, and I have noticed he posts at 11:00 AM my time in the eastern time zone US. I then try to write my comment within an hour’s time if I am to have any hope of a response from him. I can only imagine how time-consuming it is editing and putting out two or more videos a week, to then have to sit down, read the comments and respond to as many as he can within an hour, if in fact that is how much time he schedules for that task.
I know I often wondered why Jamie didn’t respond to my comments, so set about trying to sort it out, which I think I did. I hope I’ve helped you. I live in southern Virginia, by the way. It’s 54 degrees, and the sun is shining for now. Hope you have a good day.

Thank you for your very nice msg. I was aware that Jamie & Sherpa have had to be out and have been travelling, and know that he's looking to buy a country place for them. Do you know how to flag or forward that post to him? (I've suffered major accidents, with mulitple brain traumas, etc. (long story), and lost almost all of my meager computer skills.). I do think my post might be helpful to him and others, but I have no way of forwarding it to him.
The sun is now shining here, and I will soon have some coffee, before I go and shovel an elderly neighbour's walk - she turns 100 on March 31st! (Alas, though, she's in the hospital, i am assuming for a fall. 😢 I am not on the contact list, so the hospital won't disclose anything beyond yes, she"s here (once I explained who I was)).
I only met her in 2015 (when I had very fresh accident body & brain injuries), but have been making/ buying cards & gifts for her & getting other neighbours' signatures for the past 4 years, and giving her fresh garden produce & shovelling her walk (others helped for the first 3 years), as I think it's so marvelous that she has been lasting so well on her own (only daughter/ son-in-law live hundreds of miles away, and he doesn't want her to live with them, and she doesn't want to leave her home - she apparently is very strong-willed. Good for HER, I say!). I admire her strength of character, and hope to help her final years here...

Okay… sorry to type this, but be careful with tinsel… be checking his stool for blood, not just sparkles 😊 Depending on the content of the tinsel, those edges can track havoc on their stomach and intestines (learned the hard way with a cat I had). After that I never used tinsel again. Sherpa is bigger and hopefully won’t have an issue but just keep checking it for blood even after you are sure it all has passed just to make sure. (Really sorry & embarrassed 🫣 I even typed this, but maybe other pet owners will learn something)
