This was a great interview to watch and really heart warming. It is great to hear a positive lockdown story. She has invested her lockdown time in creating her own business and has backed her self. She is talking to the right person regarding running a bubble tea shop so hopefully you can share some ideas with her Kristen and she can build a successful shop. I would be interested in a follow up video in a year's time.
Hey Darren,
Thanks for the kind compliments and positive feedback for both myself and Pear.
I think your idea for a follow-up video in a year's time is a great idea!
Take care & all the best to you 😇
Thank you for giving us a great opportunity. I’m so glad that we met will continue support and be your fan!!

Hi Kristin, I love your content so much! This was an amazing interview! Love literally all the questions you ask!
Hi 👋🏼
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the feedback and compliment 🤩
@@BubbleTeaKristin oh my thank YOU for being so kind and sharing such genuine and raw stories of the journey to opening up boba shops! ❤️
Would you be able to share the links to the suppliers/vendor or info. On where to order the best quality of powder flavors and syrup? And for some of the equipment ?
Hi Veronica,
I always advise people to do their own research for products and equipment, because everyone is based all around the world and everyone has unique options.
Not only for a variety of products and equipment, but also for logistics of actually importing equipment.
Where my shops were located in the UK, I felt a very reliable and trustworthy company for equipment was 'Boba Box UK'. I also enjoyed using their powders and syrups and products.
However even they didn't supply everything needed in order to open a bubble tea shop.
What country do you live?
Such good advice.
Awesome 😎
Thank you !
You're welcome ☺️
Can you please share where to do full training.....planning to open in my country and there arent many bubble tea shops..thanks

If you can't find what you're looking for, just send me a PM through there. 👍🏻
where can I buy the logo cups please
There's so many options to either buy in your own country and have them printed, or import yourself from China, or have a middle man company take care of it all for you.
Which country do you live? That's a good starting point for research ☺️👍🏼
Kristin, do you have video on how to find vendors for all your ingredients?
I don't, but usually googling a combination of keywords such as: Wholesale, Bubble Tea, Boba, name of your country/state, Supplier... Like those, will yield results for a company selling bubble tea supplies in your area. Because it is so trendy right now, new wholesale suppliers are opening every few months all over the world.
I want to add this to my menu at my juice shop were is the best supply chain to order from?
Hi Susy,😎
Add what exactly? We talked about different drinks in the interview 👍🏼
Are you talking about the pink drink? The syrup is available in asian markets which sell Thai foods and drinks. Hope that was helpful.
Thank you I'm very interested in opening a shop. There's so much more that goes into opening a shop. For me I owned a Hawaiian shave ice store front at a mall which I closed down due to covid. I am considering reopening at a new location and adding boba tea since it's so popular now but have no clue about how to make it, create a menu, how to price, where to order supplies etc. She touched on it a little any other advice? I'm located in the IE in southern CA about 45 min east of LA.
Hi Eve,
I think your new shop idea is a great combo!
So, the least expensive way to learn all about bubble tea is to watch every single video on my CZcams channel and take notes 😂
The next best option would be to check out my website www.BubbleTeaExpert.com
On there I have different recipe packets and full business builder packets. You can also book on with me for one-on-one video mentoring as well if you need additional assistance or have questions, etc. 😍
I just got a place to lease and I would love to incorporate boba !!! But have no idea where to start

I’m about to open an ice cream and coffee shop is it a good idea to start with 1-3 flavor tea and only tapioca boba ? Or not good idea ?
@@laurag509 Hi Laura,
I wouldn't be able to accurately answer that question as there are too many variables such as location, price point, current customers, customers types in the area, age range, budget, etc.
But if you're interested in booking a one-on-one mentoring session where we can discuss in detail, feel free to check out my website www.BubbleTeaExpert.com 😇
Hello, I am opening a shop and I am wondering on where I can find all the bubble tea equipment and how to find vendors for ingredients and cups in the US?
This is the million dollar question!!! 😂😂😂
Seriously, I have many USA based clients, and I'm so sad to say that the American bubble tea industry is full of scams and less than perfect customer service! 😭
Unfortunately you'll need to learn to navigate it on your own. Start by looking into the wholesale/equipment businesses you find online... do they have good or bad reviews? You may need to choose from the lesser of two evils.
Always order sample boxes - try their products and do taste tests!
Find out MOQs (minimum order quantities), what are their shipping costs and time frames...? (Right now the shipping freight costs are absolutely deplorable in many states from different companies, so definitely make a note of this!)
As for equipment, you'll probably need to go on a road trip visiting as many other shops as possible and inquiring where they got their equipment, if they're happy with it, etc. But make sure you're in no competition with them nearby, or they'll give you bad advice. Try a city that outside of a 1-2 hour radius or more... or you're in 'poaching' territory.😉
Hope all this is a good starting point for you. That's why I try to make these videos in my Interviews series... because the bubble tea industry is a very strange world to navigate in America. 😅
Do you have video content about how much for investment? I am planning to look for a location (750sqf-1200sqf) next year ..Now, have to save a lot of money which is I don't know how much should be enough..
Hi 👋🏼
Well, your question doesn't have an easy answer. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Prices vary on things like: the country, the economy, the city, the street, the location... so there's no real estimate that I could give you for how much to save up.
But in both America and England, anyone can start a bubble tea business from anywhere between $20,000 up to $200,000, depending on everything I mentioned above.
But also taking into consideration whether it is a small business run by an owner, or whether someone is investing into a larger franchise.😅
Sorry there's no exact answer but hopefully I gave you some things to think about.😻
Hi Kristin I am planning to open boba shop how can I found out where to buy the best boba perl and tea, thank you.
Hello Chihuahua Mama 👋🏼
I suggest doing a Google search online using keywords such as: bubble tea supplier. Boba supplier. Milk Tea supplier, etc. And then figure out who ships to your area and what is their MOQ (minimum order quantity) how much is shipping, etc. This is most important as you don't want to have huge fees and delays.
Get or buy sample boxes from as many companies as you can, and start trialing all the different brands. 😁😁😁😁
Have fun and good luck!!!
What licenses and permits do you need before you open up?
That's a good question Cassandra. There are none in regards to specifically bubble tea that I know of, but there are many owning a business through the city, county or region, state, and country. So definitely contact your local small business authority for more information. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
2 months? How in California? This location must of previously been an eatery or cafe so it only needed lipstick makeover. I am on month 3 and I would be considered fortunate to open by end of month 4
Yes, 'lipstick makeover' as you say 😂🤣
However, my shop only took a 2-3 months too... But I did buy the stuff I needed at the beginning and everything arrived by the end... It was a bit tight.
The longer parts are the building of the counters, etc.
I did my sketches and measurements at the very beginning so they could do all that as soon as possible.😎
Very nice
Thanks 😊
Do you know how much it does to open a new boba tea shop ?
@@longsievly8085 There are so many variables. It really depends on which country, which state, which county, which city, and then it depends if you're getting a cart or kiosk versus a shop and what size. But in America you could do a pop-up for about $5,000, but a shop will run you a minimum of $20k - $50,000 up to $100,000 if you open it on your own, and up to $200,000 if you get a franchise. Hope that helps 😇
I have a small shop and don’t have much room is there a tea I can use for both milk and syrup teas please let me know thank you :)
Hello 👋🏼
Well, if I had to pick one, I'd say Jasmine Green Tea. It's most versatile for both milk teas and fruit teas.
But having that and an Assam would be ideal 🤩
@@BubbleTeaKristin thank you so much 😊 I love that you always reply!
I am sure if we could give the girls the financial backing they would take everything they learned from you and start their own Bubble tea shop. Probably with mochi ice creams and bubble waffles. Mmm.
This is true! They would be amazing with their own shop, that's for sure!
They could even win awards for the youngest female entrepreneurs in the UK with numerous awards 🏆🏆🏆
