Planting RED RIPPER Peas with a 1950 Farmall Cub Tractor

- The corn is gone and Danny is planting red ripper peas for the fall as a cover crop and to sell seed after they dry. The farmall cub has been great for making up nice rows. We gained 2 extra rows by using the cub. Look for how the peas grow in future videos.

Good morning Danny & Wanda!
Will you be doing an update this morning? Concerned for our friends down south.
@@HoneyHollowHomestead Yes
Good morning Mark just coming up from underground. Will check when it gets daylight.
@@DeepSouthHomestead I hope everything is okay, I'm glad your both okay. GOD bless your land and animals brother. I pray for no damage or loss.
I'm sending heartfelt prayers from North Carolina that the two of you, your families, and Deep South Homemade weather this storm safely.
Zuly Hallelujah , the previous video preparation tells how it affects Mississippi in that area during hurricanes. I googled it and it says power is out some places and heavy wind and rain. Not sure what county DSH is in .
Hey Reavis. I went to a Reavis High School in Burbank IL many many years ago. My daddy lived in Lockhart TX for years. One of the streets was Reavis. So cool to see that name. Do y'all have any history on y'all's name? Thx for sharing
Blessings, julie
@@idahohoosier8989 All I know is Reavis was my grandmother's maiden last name and that's how my name came about.
@@zulyhallelujah9257 Ms was on the northeast quadrant. We got hit hard just not quite as hard as some of south Louisiana.
Just got my cub yesterday Brother Man thanks for the video 👍🏿
Kinda old school. My hats off to you! Hope y'all stay safe from the storm.
Elizabeth says, Praying for you all. God bless all your efforts and faithfulness.
Praying for you and your family hoping all of you are safe
Still raining hard but we're okay.
Sending prayers to my Louisiana family and Mississippi neighbors! I wish I had a tractor like yours Danny. There is a person way down the road from me that has one for sale(idk if it's a farmall) but it has a disk attachment on the back which I also would love!!!. Hubby says we have tractor, I said yes, but that's your tractor. I want my own.
Amen watch out Wanda may take his
Tractor looks great. I have a 1949 Cub that belonged to my great grandfather. And rippers was my both my grandfather and great grandfather's favorite peas to plant.
I pray that you are safe now during this hurricane. And look forward to hearing from you when you can post a video again. Prayers to all affected.
I’ve been listening to BP EART WATCH AND IM PRAYING FOR YOU ALL

That's one fine restoration.
Glad y’all are safe from storm
Even making this video ahead of Ida only punctuates how prepared that y'all are. Thinking of you and wishing for the best. Hugs from our mountain top homestead to yours.
Just coming up from underground. We will have to check things out when it gets daylight.

Reminds me of the 1950 Farmall Super A with hydraulic arms we had on our farm in Vermont when I was growing up in the ‘60’s!
Hello from TN! Our humidity yesterday was 100 %! Didn't rain. Today, 30th, it's 5 AM. Nice and cool 69 degrees. Suppose to rain for the next 3 days. We hope you will make it through IDA! They are saying that we will get 3 to 4 inches of rain Tuesday. Already issued Flash Flood warnings for here. Ordering the Fish for the pond on Wednesday. The older I get the more I feel the need to be ready for anything. You all take care of yourselves. GOD bless

I live in Buckatunna and we come thur Wiggins going to coast to see my daughter. I would love to buy some of the red ripper pea seed. We grew them when I was a girl in our corn
Danny you are like a kid in a candy shop with your farm hall tracker. Love it.
THE FARMALL IS A GOOD TRACTOR DANNY GOD BLESS YALL
Guys stay well and safe. Danny the value of that tractor and the application is enormous, it just takes people like you and Wanda to explain the value. And it has enormous value.
That's nice u look after Ur machines to bless

So Happy to see you and Wanda are still ok and safe ❤️.
Danny & Wanda, You don't know me, but you have become my family since I found you on u-tube...never miss your posts, even going to the older ones. I will be 81 in Oct. I dug up my garden with a shovel, love the dirt, the exercise, the thrill of you gardening. I love you both and trust the Lord to protect you from the storm. I live in Ocala, FL.💕🥕🍓🥒🥦🌽🍍🌰🍋🍆🍅🍇🦋🐑🐑❣️
It is wonderful to see you use the Farmall Cub, keeping it alive!!
Lol he always looks so happy driving that tractor 😂
Man that's an awesome tractor. Hope those peas are doing good and didn't wash away in the rain.
I had to replant some of them.
Thanks Danny and Wanda! Hope you are not getting too much damage from storm. Looking forward to a whole field of (blooming) peas. Would be happy to order some from you. 💕Fromm Ky.
Great looking tractor! My Dad always said you can tell the worth of a man by how solid his fence is and how he cares for his livestock.
You get more done before 8:00 then some do all day! You go Danny!!
Good morning Mr.Danny and Ms.Wanda 🙋♀️
Good morning! I'm hoping that this is you guys after Ida... been praying for ya'll safety. Mr. Danny you look like you've gotten your excercise. Lord bless you with a successful crop in Jesus' name.

Praying for u all for the coming storm
Find a duplex planter to plant corn and pole beans together let the beans run up the corn stalks.
Great that you have the old tractor. But you can't run to the local store for the add ons. Danny got his exercise today. Get him inside and hydrated.
Nice tractor...Have a Awesome day.
Great job improvising Danny, that little cub is clean As a pin!
Nice little utility tractor, good luck with the peas. Stay safe with your weather situation, praying for you all.
You two are in my prayers that the hurricane will shift a different direction. Love to see you enjoying your cub.
Hope your safe!!! Prayers for you guys!!!!
I jumped on to check on y’all! So glad
You are ok 🤗
Thanks God you are safe feeling for Louisiana people. Lets keep praying for the rest of the people on the path of lad.
Praying everything is okay and yoy guys have made it through safely. It is so selfless of you to do all this work for subscribers to be able to have seeds! God bless you both 2🙏🙏😇😇
My dad has a 1950 model Cub. We have all the cultivators and a fertilizer distributor for it. We seldom use it any longer. We have a 1977 Ih 140 that we use in the garden.
If you ever decide to sell some parts let me know.
This was the first year we ever used fertilizer on beans and i'm impressed . We have had more Asian Yard Long beans then ever before . I used the same fertilizer as you did and some bloom booster .They always tell you that you don't have to fertilize them so I never . I hope you guys have a awesome crop !
Like the intro music
Praying you all are safe and damage is low to none. Looking forward to seeing your post Ida video.
Just checked our heat index here in central Texas currently 107 at 3:30pm
GM... hope you guys are doing OK after this crazy Hurricane 🌀 many blessings 🙌 on your way
Farm all cub. The best garden tool I ever owned. Stay safe.
It’s always a joy to watch you work with that machine!
I truly hope the weather treated y’all kindly yesterday.
Still blowing 40 mph and raining pretty hard.
That's awesome that you were able to add two extra rows with the Farmall Cub! I guess what they say about them is true. "Why farm a little when you can FARMALL?" :)
I live in central Florida. And i always used a 6-6-6 as a supplement to using mostly organic supplements to my gardens. I also use fish emulsion on a regular basis. I also use miracle grow a couple times during the season and have had good luck with these methods. The miracle grow liquid gave my peas a nice kick just before setting blossoms.
Prayers for you all
Music is nice, but I love the sound of an ole tractor running. Reminds me of my time with Grandfather
Need a quick hitch and a cole planter and seed plates!
Nice tractor
Yeah would love to have that. Haven't found one yet.
Danny you done got me wanting to rebuild an old tractor ! And I live in a subdivision, I’m sure the wife will understand,,,,, the neighbors think I’m crazy anyway for my tiny camper builds haha.
Go for it. I had a blast. Now I'm looking for equipment for it.
I can sympathize with you, been very humid here in SC last two months, supposed to hit 95 today, that pretty hot for couple days from September. About 3 weeks ago doing a lot of work at my sisters place, I went from 213 lbs to 200 in less than a week.
Y’all have been heavy on my mind. Praying that the hurricane/ TS misses y’all. Last year we moved from the gulf coast of Texas to middle Tennessee so we know a little something about hurricanes. Be safe.
Just coming up from underground. We will have to check things out when it gets daylight.
Hi been praying for u all I'm glad u are both ok hp Ur family are ok to ,will kp doing prayers for others ,glad Ur able to get sm jobs dn Jx
👍🙏
I'm so glad to hear that you all are fine! I guess next couple days will tell the tale!!
Yep
You look like that tractor was made for ya! If the red rippers make good for you, I'd be interested in buying some.
Watch our Etsy store.
Know that you have a beautiful old tractor. It's time for one with Air Conditioning.
I have a new Kubota tractor but AC is a little fancy for me.
I have a 1950 Cub as well. Yours looks better!! My process is almost identical to yours except no Hoss! I use a Earthway seeder tho. Garden looks good!
I pray you guys are safe from Ida. How did you guys far? Been praying for you that you and your farm stays safe.
Here in Ohio, our humidity has been in the 90 % plus. With 90 degree weather. It’s been miserable. Especially since our air conditioner broke and I have a ton of canning to do.
Oh so glad to hear from y'all. Thought that hurricane would have got you. God Bless. Hoping your peas do well.
This was probably preprogrammed to be posted. From looking they are still under very bad weather
It still flooding here.
@@tringo8738 Thanks we will check damage when it gets daylight. We just come up from underground.
@@DeepSouthHomestead From monitoring everything it looks like Ida was another Katrina. So sorry. I hope everything is not too damaged where you are but yes I saw the flooding in your area too.
Burch store tractor. All your farmall planter needs. Amen on keeping the tractors clean I wash mine off a lot. Where did the farmall mat come from, that is awesome
Walmart online
I have been stock piling corn, field peas and peanuts from hoss tools what isnt used is being stored in mylar bags vacuumed sealed and stored in the freezer.
Danny, that tractor suits you. As I see you riding it, you two are quite literally like 2 peas from the same pod. Old friends, if you will
Hope u didn't g y to much damage from Ida.God is faithful. Love the video
Ur husband remind of the slim guy on Green Acres.
Looks like a great planter. I wonder if you could figure out a way to attach it to the Cub.
