  • Widescreen Music Video- Translated Lyrics in video description. www.bjork.com/ Björk - Vísur Vatnsenda-Rósu (English: "Verses by Rosa of Vatnsendi") is a traditional Icelandic song. The lyrics are a poem written by Rósa Guðmundsdóttir (1795--1855); the melody is a traditional lullaby, arranged by Jón Ásgeirsson.
The song is most famous for its performance for Hector Zazou's album Chansons des mers froides (Songs from the cold seas) by Icelandic singer/songwriter Björk; it also appears on Björk's third Possibly Maybe single CD.

Film used for this edit was created by Onformation. The basic idea of the project is built upon the consideration of creating a moving sculpture from the recorded motion data of a real person. For the work they asked a dancer to visualize a musical piece (Kreukeltape by Machinefabriek) as closely as possible by movements of her body.
She was recorded by three depth cameras (Kinect), in which the intersection of the
images was later put together to a three-dimensional volume (3d point cloud), so they were able to use the collected data throughout the further process.
The three-dimensional image allowed them a completely free handling of the digital camera, without limitations of the perspective. The camera also reacts to the sound and supports the physical imitation of the musical piece by the performer. She moves to a noise field, where a simple modification of the random seed can consistently create new versions of the video, each offering a different composition of the recorded performance. The multi-dimensionality of the sound sculpture is already contained in every movement of the dancer, as the camera footage allows any imaginable perspective.
The body -- constant and indefinite at the same time -- "bursts" the space already with its mere physicality, creating a first distinction between the self and its environment. Only the body movements create a reference to the otherwise invisible space, much like the dots bounce on the ground to give it a physical dimension.
Thus, the sound-dance constellation in the video does not only simulate a purely virtual space. The complex dynamics of the body movements is also strongly self-referential. With the complex quasi-static, inconsistent forms the body is "painting", a new reality space emerges whose simulated aesthetics goes far beyond numerical codes.
Similar to painting, a single point appears to be still very abstract, but the more points are connected to each other, the more complex and concrete the image seems. The more perfect and complex the "alternative worlds" they project (Vilém Flusser) and the closer together their point elements, the more tangible they become. A digital body, consisting of 22 000 points, thus seems so real that it comes to life again.

    My eye and your eye,
    and the beautiful rocks
mine is yours and yours is mine,
you do you know what I mean.
    Long ago I saw him,
    He was truly handsome,
all that could adorn one person,
    most of all had it.
    You I dread most people
    mædd flood of tears,
Oh, that we had never seen,
    love your friend the good.
    No I looked like on
    annex hreyti heart.
One god knows I loved him
of every cell of my heart.
    While Kali hot springs,
    cover and glacial valleys bare,
cuff speech and all, what is,
    I will never forget you.
The eye's tears touched the clear,
    guaranteed in Partala crumbs,
    My heart wounds hurt,
    fraud is hard to endure.
We prefer I know your flowers,
    friendliness innermost block.
    Far well Eyjafjörður my
    fairer to all rentals.
    I remember our first meeting,
    However, ancient love lessens.
Now, as a dog and a dog
    met the fox den.

So if the lyrics is by someone (Rósa) who was born in the 1700s with the last name of Guðmundsdóttir, would that mean that Bjork was singing her ancestor's poem from around 2 centuries ago (even if it's a common last name in her native land) since that's her last name as well!?😮
It would be the highest levels of irony and serendipity among other things.

The beat is offset with lyrics at 1:45. That's really weird if you want to smush together those styles. I don't like it.
