Americans want to travel, not sit in a charging station while their car is being fueled. Even more ridiculous are trucks whose towing capacity is pathetic. EVs even with subsidies are very expensive. Yes, there are too many EV makers in competition. Most of them will be bankrupt or be merged. This is the economic principle of competition. Eventually only a few will left alive. However, they will become huge EV makers with strong competitive capabilities.
BEV companys payed a great effort to establish BEV market. However, I must say it was the reckless challenge from the begining. BEV is just an alternative and BEV does not reduce co2 at all. In the first place, BEV has a lot of issues such as range degradation in winter, very long charging duration, deterioration of batteries you already experienced in smart phones, no repairbility in the car accident, explosion risk of batteries, huge wearing of tires due to significant heavy weight of BEV and very low resail value. Moreover, BEV has to charge the electricity from power plant. The power plant burns petroleum to boil water and turns a turbine to generate electricity, as a result, BEV ingects a lot more co2 rather than ICE cars. How come, people is believing BEV is good for environment? I do not understand. I have a confession to make I am not working for oil company, I am not even an engneer, I am just an unsilent majority.
I own lots of BEVs for over 8 years and I can say most of your arguments I cannot confirm from my personal experience. About your power plant argument: yes it's true but it's not the whole truth. A BEV has an efficacy of over 75%. If you charge it with power from an oil plant with an efficacy of about 45% and factor in 10% losses the total efficacy is 0.45 * 0.75 *0.9 = 0.3. Meaning the total efficacy is at 30% where the total efficacy of an ICE is 20% or lower. So even in the worst condition the BEV is still more efficient.
my diesel Hilux runs just as well as it did when I purchase it 5 years. In Australia the government is trying to kill utes but they'll fail. Like making us change to EVs. @@marcusfleuti2672
All that mental gymnastic cope. People are buying EV's and its continuing to gain ground. Also BYD a Chinese EV Company has the best selling compact SUV in Europe and they only been in the country for like 2-3 years lol.
I am an engineer. Cost of solar and wind is now (loaded over lifetime) in the 3-6 cent per KwH-- cheaper than natural gas. A combo of Wind, Solar, and Natural gas is a huge step forward. Look at the progress already made in BEVs- think it is going to stop?
@e1965 those solar prices are only that cheap when calculated without buffering. Problem with solar is, that it does not produce power in like 85% of the time. You'll need to produce 100% of the demanded load capacity in just 15% of the time. This means that you require a huge amount of excess ressources in order to allow constant power overproduction which you then have to buffer very expensively with lots of losses with technologies like pumped storage plants, power2gas->gas2power or batteries. If you factor in the amount of excess resources needed to do that plus all the additional power equippment to allow huge peak power surges that need to be buffered in very expensive facilities, the power from solar is at least 10x more expensive than power produced "the old fassion" way. That's why Germany, after turning off their nuclear plants, has switched their power infrastructure to coal and gas. They are now building about 20 new gas plants. Electricity prices are exploding in Germany (I know, I am there on a regular basis). The average price for a household is now at 40 cents and rising. In some areas 55 cents. Where the grid reliability is in a very bad condition. Germans have to pay 3-4 billion Euros every year for grid stability. They buy lots of power from France, Switzerland, Poland. Primarily nuclear and coal power to keep up their grid. And now you will say that I am wrong with everything and solar is the best technology ever because the media says so and that I am a dumb stupid tinfoil hat dude not understanding anything ;)
So, these supposedly ‘green’ EVs have been abandoned in parking lots, having emitted the majority of the carbon they will ever emit, when they were being manufactured. Meanwhile we’ve been encouraged to scrap perfectly serviceable ICE cars, emitting even more carbon in their crushing and recycling when these vehicles could have a service life of at least 15 years if maintained well, to then buy an EV, for which power will most likely be generated using fossil fuels, in the interests of slowing climate change. And which will require a new battery after roughly 7 years use. Not exactly ‘green’ is it?
@@marcusfleuti2672 I am talking at about pure EVs. Not Hybrid and pure EVs. EVs have 7% of the market in US for all of 2023. I remember something about being considered a conspiracy theorist because I said that electric cars would a costly waste to the world. Do any lefties out there want to educate me on how the average person can afford a vehicle priced at 100K?
If the market is oversaturated it does not mean that there is no future for EVs. They have a mega-competitive environment. Only in such environments the best possible products are built. China is going to be a winner!
Did you just make this up today? China is far ahead in both building and selling EVs. Lots of new companies go bankrupt everywhere in the world. BYD is the worlds largest EV manufacturer and along with Tesla will dominate the car market worldwide for long into the future.
The truth is, since WWII, the physical form-factor and energy density of batteries of today, have only been reduced to 1/5 of there original size (there are only so many molecules of materials available for anodes and cathodes). On the other hand, the smallest single function vacuum tube's glass envelope (the peanut tube) in 1945, will hold more than thirty billion transistors, batteries will never catch up!
those smaller car makers which produce EVs basically in some bigger basement will bancrot but Bigger ones as Dongfeng or Byd or now Xiaomi ,Huawei .... will not !! In west many car makers will bancrot too if big subsidues from governments dont finance them and that goes for Tesla too
There is absolutely no indication that Tesla will go bankrupt. With 29 billion dollars in near cash on hand and virtually no long term debt that's not really possible. So no the government will not be subsidizing Tesla. The assertion is quite absurd given the facts.
The EV makers aren't leaving graveyards, ride sharing companies are. A ride sharing bubble popped. The graveyards would be composed of whatever kind of car was cheapest. In china, at least with subsidies, it's electric.
If you ever ride a high speed train in China you'll probably see one of these. I've seen a few. I personally don't think they'll have a problem selling. Even now all over social media companies are giving huge discounts. Salesmen call me all the time telling me how much cheaper last year's models are.
China can overproduce and does not have a sufficient domestic consumer mass able to afford what can produce and does not have a large enough export market to buy what it can produce.
that is a good thing, helps reducing emissions, EVs use more energy to move, more electric energy means more electricity, what do they burn to generate the electricity ? gas, coal or other fuel and therefore more emissions unless all EVs use electricity generated from nuclear power plant which is not possible.
CO2 is not emission. it's plant food and elementary part of food chain. we are restricting healthy thing and ignoring the real toxic stuff that's a byproduct of all the "green" scams and what's put into our food during food mass processing to make the poor quality food taste and look good

I always wanted gas EV hybrid, and saw the Volt as a great start, But GM Never made a performance sport or minitruck version to expand that model then they killed it with no hybrid and we full in to pure EV way too soon. I sw my next car two years ago, its a Volvo T8 Sedan. The Hybrid has a strong Gas engine and a nice Electric rear wheel drive, that together provide 455 HP and take the S 60 0 to 60 in 4 seconds, And pure EV range of 50 miles and Gas range of 200 or so. The Little Gas motor is 2 liter 4 with supercharger AND turbo and it still get 340 to 25 MPG. Its a perfect vehicle for the times. Why can't China covert all these Pure EVs into Hybrids and sell them to someone why just throw good vehicles away without a shot at regaining some investment. But I know GM is in the same situation but they are reintroducing Hybrids after killing the Volt. D

In 2023, both General Motors (GM) and Ford faced significant vehicle recalls, with Ford surpassing GM in total number of vehicles recalled: GM: Recalled 4.4 million vehicles across its various brands (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac). Ford: Recalled a staggering 5.7 million vehicles. Ford: Focus on powertrain issues: This category accounted for the most recalls, affecting millions of vehicles from various models like F-Series trucks, Explorer SUVs, and Mustang sports cars. Issues ranged from faulty transmissions and driveshafts to potential fuel leaks and unexpected parking brake activation. Other notable recalls: Incorrect rearview camera display in certain Super Duty trucks, software glitch impacting electric vehicle charging, and potential airbag malfunction in the Maverick truck which could result in explosion of airbag sending shrapnel into the cabin. GM: Multiple brands affected: Recalls covered vehicles like Chevrolet Silverado and Tahoe SUVs, GMC Sierra and Acadia SUVs, and Cadillac XT4 and CT4 sedans. Variety of reasons: Some major recalls addressed potential fires due to brake fluid leaks in Silverado trucks, faulty fuel pumps in various models, and software issues impacting the infotainment system and driver assistance features.. Takata airbag inflator replacements: While not technically new recalls in 2023, GM continued addressing the ongoing issue of replacing defective Takata airbags in older vehicles. As you see from above just GM And Ford issued recalls affecting 10 million vehicles in 2023.
Geely and MG are NOT! Definitely NOT! Cheap in the Philippines. I rode in a higher end Geely ICE car and the quality with soft touch plastic of the interior surprised me, better than top end Cadillac I would say. Tesla by comparison would be a joke.
The govt. will consolidate them just like everything else which is a good thing. Back in the 1900s automobiles started in the US, there were more than 2000 car manufacturers and now only 11 survived. In the US bankruptcy is the only choice. China's BYD alone are making 10 new models every year. That is insane! and the EV market keep growing uncontrollably. They export more car than any country in the world now, even BYD just overtook Tesla's sales record.
No the govt is never the solution. It is the cause of all this. Subsidiaries created it. And like they failed to plan this ahead they will fail to plan a consolidation. Only the market can solve it and in this times I see no market at all for expensive EVs coming.
@rich6254 I don't know why you should care so much about their country, in reality they are the biggest car producer and exporter unless you do outperform their production and export, if not then it is a moot point. It's like a crawling baby trying to teach a cheetah how to run. We always think "we can", in reality we can only "think" Let's check the fact, 1 in 3 cars sold in CA are EVs, 1 in 3 in China (country with the most cars in the world), 8.8 of 10 cars are EVs in Norway, not to mention Germany, Italy, UK, France, Sweden, S. Korea, Netherland are the top 10 most EVs in the world. Mercedes put up a statement that says "The future is EV" in it's website, Crysler, BMW, Ford, VW, Porche Taycan, Audi with eTron, Nissan, Jaguar etc are among big names that investing and producing EVs. To make things worse, CATL managed to cut the battery cost by 50%. It'll make EV cheaper than old fossil fuel car. There hasn't any big innovation in older fossil fuel cars for decades now. EVs growth rate on avg is about 55%/year worldwide. That is why Elon musk is the 2nd richest man in the world, and in fact that none of the top 10 richest man is in oil businesses proves it.
Everyone started producing the same bev would appear. There is still innovation for example Aptera and perhaps radically so in this instance but the amount of electrical wiring in any new vehicle battery powered or otherwise is really insane devaluing the entire vehicle. Plus no one else is Tesla trying to produce something besides 4 wheels and a steering wheel. Tesla still has a lot of work to do to roll out right proper servicing but Tesla and Ford remain the only two to put forth a serious effort in this entirely new market meaning total cost of ownership and again not just volume product no matter the cost. Some prices for a used Tesla getting really low as well. If Tesla were to announce the creation of "parts warehousing" across North America this would solve a lot of problems as well. Ford remaining a low volume producer has proven to be the best approach of any incumbent Das Auto anyways. Apple was smart to cut their losses as well.

@@marcusfleuti2672The EV has a problem in range, charging and long term maintenance costs. The battery is still a safety issue in causing fires that are difficult to extinguish. In North America, people do not have access to fast charging. The bigger issue is sustainability of price reduction as production numbers increase. There simply is not enough minerals (lithium, nickel, copper and cobalt) for production costs to decrease for global mass consumption. In established car markets such as Japan and North America the hybrid is a much more viable and trusted product. Demand in EU depends upon government assistance and legislation. Yes, there are too many EV makers in competition. Most of them will be bankrupt or be merged. This is the economic principle of competition. Eventually only a few will left alive. However, they will become huge EV makers with strong competitive capabilities.
True.
That's good news.
This is happening in America too. No one wants EVs.
inflation is not helping
Where
According to the EIA this isn't true. BEV share at 16.3% and rising. You should check other sources outside of your bubble.
@@marcusfleuti2672 I am talking at about pure EVs. Not Hybrid and pure EVs. EVs have 7% of the market in US for all of 2023. Almost all companies are greatly reducing their production and/ or lowering the prices to get someone to buy them. There car lots are packed. The depreciation rate is horrible on EVs which is causing people to not was them as well as price first, range anxiety second, no infrastructure buildout third, and depreciation fourth.
@@marcusfleuti2672 It has been reported all over every major network channel. EV sales have almost come to a complete stop. It started in December and has continued to date. Go drive your EV by a few car lots that sell EVs. They are a dime a dozen.
I wonder how long it will be before Tesla goes broke.
Well, at about 10,000 profit per car that might take a while
How many of these comments are coming from Republicans?
Our governments called the electric vehicle a "game changer", more like "money loser".
When the economy is in a meltdown all sectors decline with it.Bankruptcy is on the horizon.
We'll see Tesla graveyards here in the USA before long. Ev's are on a dead end road and they will all be off of the roads by 2030.
Those EV graveyards will have to be out in the middle of a desert somewhere... far from civilization. One little cell on one of those ridiculous batteries decides to short out?? Fires will rage for months. 💣 💥 🔥
Keep thinking that...😅
Why?
😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅
Tesla may not be profitable soon. Elon has major quality issues, high prices (which he keeps whittling) and his much overhyped pickup seems to have massive problems. Add to this- people don’t want them.
They are not practical enough for people who live in the real world, but fine as playthings for the rich, who can just hop in the classic Bentley when the EV lets them down. The devils of Davos don't see a problem with forcing everyone to drive them; they get around the small mountain stronghold in them with no problem.
I remember something about being considered a conspiracy theorist because I said that electric cars would a costly waste to the world. Do any lefties out there want to educate me on how the average person can afford a vehicle priced at 100K?
There were some very nice looking cars in this. All they need to sell the lot is an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE).
Like every other battery powered device you ever owned the EV will sit useless because of the battery.
And meanwhile in EU ... people are waiting 15+months for electric and are ready to pay 25% overprice 🤣🤣🤣🤣
👏👏👏👏👍
Please reduce the price and bring it to Ghana we will buy them.
Only in a highly competitive market , the best products are built,
This has been said by someone under 30 yrs
Say that three times fast - then go read about their demographics problem... 😳
Next thing theyll be pushing them into ocean. Oops they fell off cargo ship, all 25,000 of them... Or worse.
You sure these are abandoned or just waiting to be exported . Stories like this are usually B.S
EV’s… 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Europe & USA can buy cheep Chinese cars instead of costly local manufacturing
Perhaps the ev graveyard will catch fire caused by thermal runways and solve there storage problems as people are not buying.
This can be summed up in one word. "HAHAHAHAHA"
that is a good thing, helps reducing emissions, EVs use more energy to move, more electric energy means more electricity, what do they burn to generate the electricity ? gas, coal or other fuel and therefore more emissions unless all EVs use electricity generated from nuclear power plant which is not possible.
CO2 is not emission. it's plant food and elementary part of food chain. we are restricting healthy thing and ignoring the real toxic stuff that's a byproduct of all the "green" scams and what's put into our food during food mass processing to make the poor quality food taste and look good
How to tell me you don't know anything about EVs or the electricity production business without telling me you don't know anything about EVs or the electricity production business.
Did I blink and miss the images of 'car graveyards' . . . ?
Those are Ice cars with no takers, not EVs. The Ice cars will be exported to other countries on the cheap to phase them out. To countries like the USA that still refuses to go green 🍏. 😂😂😂
I am the inventor of the EV using nuclear powered batteries. There is some radiation, but won't be that much so don't worry. The msrp will be $20k. $9900 non-refundable Pre-orders are welcomed.

Good news- especially since the RAV4 plugin hybrid has waiting lists.
The fact of the matter is US EV's lead the world in unsold vehicles..... 🤣🤣🇳🇿👎China on the other hand can not keep up demand for theirs throughout the world
Sure that why china EV's bankrupt like Chinese economy gonna do next !
Unfathomable waste.
Funny how the comment section is just anti-EV people amplifying each other. Not saying EVs are perfect but when they are done properly, they have their values.
BYD is not even in the same class as Tesla. BYD is an inferior EV.
fuck EVs, battery replacement is day light robbery and the battery only last 8-10 years.
So how is this Carbon Nutral 🤔 ridiculous 🙄
Nope, we need inexpensive reliable cars not made by the UAW. Everything the UAW make are overpriced clunkers.
In 2023, both General Motors (GM) and Ford faced significant vehicle recalls, with Ford surpassing GM in total number of vehicles recalled:
GM: Recalled 4.4 million vehicles across its various brands (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac).
Ford: Recalled a staggering 5.7 million vehicles.
Ford:
Focus on powertrain issues: This category accounted for the most recalls, affecting millions of vehicles from various models like F-Series trucks, Explorer SUVs, and Mustang sports cars.
GM:
Multiple brands affected: Recalls covered vehicles like Chevrolet Silverado and Tahoe SUVs, GMC Sierra and Acadia SUVs, and Cadillac XT4 and CT4 sedans.
So
What's the point of this?
Over saturated and over priced. Where's the bargains? NOT!
I hope this is true
Just like their property market its going to crash 🤷
We always think "we can", in reality we can only "think"
Let's check the fact, 1 in 3 cars sold in CA are EVs, 1 in 3 in China (country with the most cars in the world), 8.8 of 10 cars are EVs in Norway, not to mention Germany, Italy, UK, France, Sweden, S.
This is how a Communist does Capitalism. Any questions?
In China all taxi already EV cars only choice!
I went Guangzhou and i see the road cars more than 50% is EV.
Im from Kazakhstan and i support EV im not support oil production, more EV for all oil country game over!
With the world wide demand for EVs dropping whats going to happen to these EV only manufacturers they more than likely go into bankruptcy also in Australia we do get Chinese built vehicles both ICE and EVs to be perfectly honest there build quality is not the best some of them show signs of bad rusting and that's in Australia were my 1997 Toyota Hilux is not rusting at all l live in N.S.W Australia and we have yearly registration inspection foe all light vehicles over 5 years old and my Hilux has never failed on rust issues fair enough there is surface rust but its not serious Toyota got it right 30 years ago because of there vehicles are of such high quality and other Japanese manufacturers are much better build quality than the Chinese vehicles
91 auto company will be reduced to half a dozen within a few years
It's a graveyard for Ford and GM as well. BYD and Tesla will win.
the economy is struggling everywhere. People need cheap cars and EVs aren't cheap. BYD and Tesla are likely to not survive this. No wonder Elon warned shareholders.
...and NIO ;)
@@ralfulrich6254 BEVs are already cheaper than ICEs. A NIO ET5 costs around 47'000€. What ICE can you buy with all the tech that is equipped in the NIO and 500 horsepower? I cannot name even a single one.
You are correct in the low price region. But it's not that it is impossible. In India and China lots of small EVs are on the road. It's simply because it's yet more lucrative for car manufacturers to produce higher priced vehicles.
That economy is collapsing. Otger parts of tge world outside Asia, just don’t have the power infrastructure yet for EVs and will continue to demand ICE vehicles.
@@marcusfleuti2672 it's because they are crap. Say it. Cheap EV's are crap. You can easily buy a used diesel car under 10k and travel hundreds of miles with it in great comfort. 40k is not a price the average car buyer can afford.

In China's land of electric dreams,
Where whispers once held hopeful gleams,
Now lies a graveyard vast and wide,
Where EVs rest, dreams cast aside.
Once thriving makers, giants bold,
Their promises now stories told,
Echoes of what could have been,
Now haunt the silence, stark and keen.
Abandoned hopes, like rusted steel,
In fields where progress used to reel,
Forgotten dreams, once set to soar,
Now grounded, lost forevermore.
The bubble bursts, the truth laid bare,
In these graveyards of despair,
Who bears the blame for this collapse?
In shadows deep, the answer wraps.
Yet from this downfall, lessons gleaned,
In shattered dreams, new paths are weaned,
For in the ruins, seeds are sown,
To build anew, from what's been thrown.
So let the world take heed and learn,
From these graveyards, let discern,
The fragility of dreams so grand,
Yet from their ashes, hope may stand.
Though EV makers may falter, fail,
Their legacy still tells a tale,
Of innovation, risk, and woe,
In China's EV graveyard's glow.
Really well done.
