So I've had mine a few months now, and it's definitely my favorite. I got a JD-XA I like this so much. I might go as far as saying this X1 has become my favorite synth, and I have a lot of them...but this is the one ALWAYS play (even if for a few moments) when I'm in my studio. I LOVE it. This (and the XA) are the only two synths I own where I can make a true Dubstep beat soup to nuts (I don't use a DAW) so it's great not having to transfer everything over to a work station and then sequence it etc.
On a side note I got the Microkorg over this as most people recommended it over the JD-X1.
Listen, I love my Microkorg it's a lot of fun, blah blah blah. But it cannot even be compared to this. It ETHERS that the Microkorg in every single category. Not even a close. So if any of you don't like using DAWs., start with this, or the Yamaha MX. Trust me. I'm getting that FA next.

That's awesome! I'm a guitar player as well and been trying to combine guitar parts with the JD Xi. My next piece of gear I'm thinking about getting is the Ditto x4 looper because you can send a MIDI sync to it, so when you loop a guitar part it lines up with your JD Xi loops. Traditional loopers without midi sync get off time by a millisecond. I did some experimenting on this video here: czcams.com/video/rIEFYlVBzLU/video.html

Holy shit this is the for "dummies" intro I needed. Helped me learn how to properly sequence drums. The sequence/looping parts was great too. I use pro tools so I'll probably compose and write to a sequenced beat and dub the other parts, throw guitar and voice in when needed. I've watched loads of videos and read the shitty manual and this 16 min video is by far the best. Thank you sir! Liked and subbed for doing the GAT DANG job other youtubers failed to do.

Very good tutorial!!! So easy to create music. And when you're finished with your four tracks, you can start wishing there were four more... I quess you could just buy another JDXI! Or record tracks one by one into a portastudio, that's another way of "getting past" having just four tracks. For some applications, four is enough of course. Seems like a great little machine, the JD XI. I know of no other mini synth that can do what it does.

Hey, I saw someone comment on another video about the Tone edit menu. It is in the menu on this synth and there are a vast variety of extra controls to manipulate sound with there if anyone is interested. It is a little overwhelming tho as there is A TON more parameters than I originally had thought.
