Tammy, thank you for sharing your opinion. It really helps others make sound decisions.
We used to carry a much larger selection of TriBlends. I think I have all of them from when we offered the bundles.
Iâll keep that in mind when Iâm using the Stampinâ Blends.
Thatâs a great tip about those amazing dies. THANK YOU!! I will give it a try.
Appreciate your feedback, too. Loved making these cards. â€
I just love your videos so much Holly. I am so excited to collect for if the Stampinâ Blends to colour with đš thanks for your tips and honesty xx
Jane, thank you! You are so kind and I appreciate you so much. I am really loving these Blends! I hope you do, too.
Holly - thank you so much for remembering the issue I was having with the mini machine !! I will go grab mine now and try the staggering of the plates. Thanks again ! (Angela Chiera)
@@Pokedude-k3s Iâm so glad you saw this! I did that just for you. I struggled for like 15 minutes before I realized there had to be a trick. It worked! Hope it works for you. â€ïž
Hi there, this is the first time. Iâve watched one of your videos that I came across here on CZcams. Thank you your cards are absolutely wonderful. Thank you for your in-depth video. Iâll be looking for you here and there.
@@elaineschneider2553 thank you! I really appreciate your feedback. It helps me so much. Enjoy your holiday weekend if youâre here in the US. â€ïž
For coloring, once you have added the darker color, go over the entire image again with the lighter color. That will blend the 2 shades better, no harsh separation of values.
Margaret, thank you! In my next video, I actully did that. Brillant tip! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Hi Iâm new to card making and what you for the machine , I didnât even . Now I know why I had a hard time lolll . Love your cards đ
Thank you for your reply, Barbara! I'm glad this video helped you. It's those little tips and tricks that help, isn't it?! So appreciate you stopping by.
In decorative painting, you learn that 3 shades of color are needed to bring more depth to your painting. Many times I would use 4-5 colors to achieve the depth of color. When SU came out with their Stampinâ Blends, I believe they had 3 colors in a pack. Donât know why they changed it. I started with Copics several years ago before the Blends came out and prefer the option to use 3 colors to give the depth I like particularly on larger images. I would suggest watching some beginner Copic videos on YT to learn the âflickingâ technique. It will really change your coloring on images. Flicking helps with blending out the color as well.
Diane, thank you so much for this detailed reply. Iâm off to learn more about flicking. Youâve definitely piqued my interest. Appreciate you taking the time to watch my video & share your thoughts. So very much appreciated. â€ïž
You can cut a larger circle around and make a frame. Or you can cut a square or rectangle around it for a shaker or a window.
Lorraine, thank you for sharing this! I'm still learning and this was a GREAT tip!
Youâre welcome! I surely didnât mean to criticize, only for information to have you see the difference. Have fun learning a new technique!
I didnât take it as criticism at all. I honestly really appreciate your suggestions & comments. I know it will help others, too. Thank you again!
I posted Holly but for some reason it has disapeared ,it was not a bad post so puzzled why my long post vanished . Glad you got the mini not the larger machine cut emboss .the mini needs to be used over and over again to prime and settle the rollers.a lot of people struggle with this mini initially ,but i found it better and got rid of my large SU machine because it never settled down and would always be difficult with the dies also hard work with 3d embossing folders . try to looad as many small dies as you can through the mini to maximize the plates life because sadly some batches of su plates wear quicker than others .when you B plates get like scoured ice skating rings scratches ,they pick up on the card surface ,so put a piece of file paper over card to protect when the plates become worn.
Not a fan of SU blends they sadly dont last long and the nibs chafe and you end up buying more to replace ,,again my personal opinion. i prefer the spectrum noirs because crafters companion in the UK where i am from sold these to CTMHi guess colour matching was difficult but this also is a problem with blending watercolour pencils and colour pencils we simply make it our own shade but its easier to have a exact match colour shade . but i prefer my watercolour pencils as you know... lovely card samples always a pleasure to watch you.
Andrew, I really appreciate that tip about the plates. Thank you! I always appreciate your insight and thoughts. You're a much better artist than I am. Thank you for taking the time to watch & comment.
Those dies can be used to cut pretty "windows" too
@@amykeller8854 thank you for sharing this! Iâm still learning and appreciate you giving me that tip. â€ïž
I find that the SU blends smell a lot stronger than the Tri blends and I wonât buy them for that reason. Also, Iâve heard that the brush tip wears down pretty fast. I was at a card class recently, and the brush tip on my demoâs blends were so awful you couldnât even colour with them. CTMH only had a small number of the Tri-blends, out of a huge number of markers that Spectrum Noir actually makes. I purchased a few of them because they are easy to use for beginners. And I have a lot of critter stamps that I would prefer look more realistic than just match my SU products. Of course, thatâs just my opinion.
As for the dies, if you were going to make a shaker card or a window card, the outer design would show on your cardstock. For example, if you cut a circle from the front of your card base, you could stamp something on the inside of the card and it would show through. Your circle would just have a nice detail around it. Does that make sense?! đ€ Your cards are very pretty btw! đšđŠ
Tammy, appreciate your thoughts. I hadn't noticed the smell....hmmm I'll have to see if they bother me. I have a very sensitive nose, too. I really appreciate you taking the time to share you opinion. It really does help others make their own decisions. I have all of the TriBlend Markers because a few years ago, CTMH did offer them all. We were able to get the bundles as a 50% off item, such a huge savings.
Oh my goodness! That's such a great tip on the dies. See, I'm still learning! Thank you so much for this! I"m going to try it soon. I'm so glad you like these cards! They were so fun to create!
@@HollyVeselenak I didnât realize that all the markers were available. I wish I had paid more attention! Spectrum Noir are hard to find in my area. Most of the stores only carry Copic markers. Have a great holiday weekend! đšđŠ
@@tammyb6497 when Close To My Heart first carried TriBlends we offered a much larger variety. However, based on sales and sell through, the offering became more limited. Iâm so sorry theyâre hard to find in Canada.
Thank you for your well wishes for our holiday! It was wonderful spending time with family & friends. â€ïž
