What a player. What a man. I first become familiar with Franz during the 1988 European Championships. A staunch figure on the touch line. A no nonsense man the players respected. It was only a little later through VHS tapes that I discovered how great he truly was.

One of the greatest football players of all time and I remember seeing him play in a World Cup Semi Final with his arm in a sling. I loved this guy - a sad loss.
