Same here. When the game was first released just last year, most people were pretty divided about it. Some said that it's terrible and others would say it's not that bad and it wasn't a full priced game so i decided to buy it and see for myself. I regretted it after a few hours. Truth be told, I kind of still do.
As a kid, I bought all the Harry Potter games (including Quidditch World Cup) and my dad had to comfort me when I brought Goblet of Fire home to find it was level based/non open world. I thrived in exploring Hogwarts. They took it from me that year.
Dude, this comment takes me back! I really enjoyed the first three HP games, especially Chamber and Azkaban. Never got around to playing the other games, and ultimately I'm glad I did. Heard they went downhill from there.

I bought it cuz I love BioWare and I really enjoyed the beta/demo but the amount of content was so disappointing that I stopped playing it and will most likely never return to it.
Dosnt like dying because things are higher level then him? Does he understand the purpose of having levels in borderlands? You need to level up and the game is extremely easy I don’t think I ever had many people saying the game is hard at all....and compare to another looter shooter not to saints row.....

@@dizzolve9189 With all the hype around Borderlands 3 I've been replaying BL2 lately. Unlike all the other times I've played through it I'm skipping probably about 95% of the side content and pushing through with the required missions. I'm right at the end of the game and haven't really hit any complete roadblocks but everything is a lot harder than I remember due to being 5+ levels lower than I was before. I could see how someone just trying to play the game as a straight shooter would be frustrated with it. Even when I am the proper level for what I'm facing I've often found myself annoyed with just how bullet spongy some of the enemies in that game can be. I hope BL3 finds a better balance so that it doesn't feel so tedious to kill certain enemy types. Bosses I understand cause they supposed to be extremely tough, just not the more run of the mil enemies.

I actually played BL2 for the first time ever this month and i just love it i mean it has personality and humor and amazing characters as well as an awesome story with a great villain.
Borderlands In A Nutshell: Walk 10 feet, enemy wave spawns in, kill enemy wave, walk 10 feet, enemy wave spawns in, repeat ad nauseam. That's it. There is really nothing more to it.

Silent Hill: Downpour A real shame for what could have been. A case where one level just ruined everything. Upon entering the last level you lose every single item you collected with no way of getting them back. The area around the trigger point that leads to the last level is full of fun side quests. Which was a neat addition and made the game a little more sand-boxy. But then when you start the cutscene and enter the last level you realize all of your time was a waste because of course all the rewards for your hard work are gone. It's a special slap in the face to players that used the side quests to stock up on healing items in anticipation of using them in the final area.
I can understand why people don't like LA Noire but it's not bad. Now I personally think borderlands is boring and clunky and looks like an arcade game.
One can complete L.A. Noir by skipping the driving sections of missions, skipping the combat sequences, and failing literally every C.S.I. and interrogation section. It was beautifully rendered hot garbage.
I thought it was decent. INCREDIBLY short & underwhelming ending. Definitely NOT the first game that was decent, but too short & underwhelming lol. Rage & Metro: last light come to mind.
My friend bought it brand new and kept saying over and over man this game is so amazing got damn these graphics are beautiful Well safe to say we’re not friends anymore but I’ll still never wrap my head around what he was enjoying

This is why you don't preorder games. I was gonna buy it myself and it took less than 24 hours to decide not to buy it just from watching youtubers. Just do that from now on.
Honestly kinda agree about Borderlands. I don't think it's a bad game, but it gets so frustrating. I've probably spent a good 150 hours in Borderlands 2 but have never completed it or even gotten too close as far as I'm aware. The last time I put it in I was determined to beat it, but I spent like a week straight playing it and the grind is just aggravating. I got these completely overpowered set of weapons and I'm like "finally. I can cruise through levels for a fair bit and just enjoy myself" and then an hour later I'm emptying my whole fuckin stash of ammo into just 3 or 4 dudes and I already need new weapons. At a certain point that just isn't fun for me. I do enjoy mechanics like that in certain RPGs, but it just seems like every 20 minutes you need to upgrade your gear to get anywhere in the Borderlands games and I'm not there for it. It's also just annoying because I do feel like I need to restart the game everytime I come back to it, because I open a save that's 6 months old or a year old and I have no clue what I'm doing, or where to go, and that's frustrating as hell. All of that combined together has made me sure that I'll never complete Borderlands.
For me, it’s Borderlands too. I remember my friend forcing me to buy this game so we can play it together. I bought it and he told me that we would play together this same afternoon. When I installed it and wanted to play it with him however, he told me that he can’t play right now. And suddenly on the screen his name pops up and ge plays singleplayer. So far, so asshole. I play it alone for some time. We actually however once played together and it was dreadful. He always pretended that I'm stupid cuz I didnt fully understand those game mechanics and he would shout at me and treat me like ass. And I really did not play it anymore since then...

Agreed. It's the only game I bought, didn't like, and bitterly wished I hadn't played. And of course it's all because I loved the original trilogy to death.
Titan Fall 1. Spent 30 min playing and put it away after I realized the "campaign" was just multiplayer matches. Now, Titan Fall 2 on the other hand, put well over 100 hours into it.
I know this is old, but I'd really like to defend GR Wildlands dialogue. I actually thoroughly enjoyed walking around hearing the banter, some of those conversations are conversations I've actually heard or participated in while in the Infantry. The part that I think they're missing is the biting sarcasm in most of the bro lines. Like, the "piss in a cup" line has more to do with making a joke about how the military loves to do "random" drug tests immediately after people get back from leave, or locations where they could have used. The lines are more about being ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous, and saying tough things to keep moral high.
Yeah, same here. It gave me the feeling of "Eh, I don't DISLIKE or abhor what's going on so far and the intro scene was awesome so I guess it's fine" until a couple hours into it and I just reaaaaaaally started to love absolutely everything about that game to the point of obsession. It also helped that I could play it with my best friend very often, which is always better. A couple of playthroughs of the story and it got old but it still has that spot in which few games are held for me. That spot being "The spot where I mentally remember which games actually enamored me and I was able to to genuinely love despite regular depression/super strong ADHD actively trying to keep me heavily disinterested in almost every video game ever!" So yeah I like Borderlands. But I also see how others don't. It feels very repetitive and grindey, gameplay wise, if you're not enjoying the story and dialogue each mission brings to the table.
Fallout 76, Anthem, and Overwatch. Luckily I bought Overwatch physically and traded it a couple days later. People are definitely different because Overwatch hype, I just don't get it.
Overwatch is a fantastic game, it's just not your cup of tea. Fallout 76 and Anthem are buggy incomplete games that even IF they ARE your cup of tea, theyre still trash.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, literally regretted it in the opening cutscene and my friends were there to witness it and laugh at my misery, such good friends XD
it's a beautiful game, but damn it i hate that i agree with her. i just gotta come back to it later when my life is a garbage fire and everything is so anxious, because that game sets my brain on fire. in a good and bad way. really glad that it has the fanbase that it does though because even if its not for me, i love that it inspires such feverish devotion. it took me a while to warm to bloodborne, so i have hope that sekiro will grow on me, but holy cow do i suck.
I love Sekiro, but I can't play Bloodborne... I've beat the Shadows of Yarnham and never played it again... Got the Platinum for all 3 Dark Souls and then, Sekiro last week, but Bloodborne never clicked with me...

Anthem. Yeah, that is my biggest regret. Honestly the only reason i bought it is because back in 2017 i really thought Destiny 2 was gonna be good. I thought that Bungie learned their lesson because the fanbase was actually pretty legit. Destiny 1 was disappointing at first but over the years it got better and the fans were giving actual honest feedback. Bungie knew exactly the kind of Destiny game we wanted and there was no reason for Destiny 2 to be bad, but yeah, I forgot about Activision and their greed. Destiny 2 was so horrible and greedy that when i heard about another looter shooter from EA i bought it out of spite. Wasting $60 on Destiny 2 pissed me off so much that I wasted another $60 for a game that keeps glitching and key people keep leaving the project.
Unfortunately, I was one of the one's who wasted $100 on it. I played it a lot when it first came out of course, but I haven't touched since like 3 months after release.
I regret buying civ 6. I love turn based games and I thought I would love it. I spent 3 hours on it and had no idea what I was doing, I broke the tutorial by building something a turn early and so it wouldn't progress. I don't think I ever got to the fun part of the game. The reason I regret buying it the most is I bought on the eShop so I couldn't get a refund so that's $60 down the drain.

Sonic 06 which I bought at full price brand new. At this point in time I knew no one who played sonic games at all, youtube wasnt a big thing for lets plays or reviews and I didnt spend much time on gaming review sites of anything, I just saw it on the shelf and was like "Oh boy, a new sonic game!" I loved Adventure 1 and 2 and even enjoyed Sonic heroes, so this seemed like the next logical step. That was the very last brand new full price game I ever bought from a store.
I hate to be the one to break this news to you, but that is kind of how opinions work. For example, I don’t like mayonnaise and as such I think it is a bad food condiment. Pretty self-explanatory, it kind of applies to a wide range of things. And yes, I genuinely think it such a bad product that I won’t eat an item that has mayonnaise on it. Do I think other people who like it are crazy? No, because that is how foods work. I am using food products as an example because I find it kind of amazing that with food everyone understands that everyone has their own taste and not everyone likes the same thing. But the commonality with most people’s list of “bad” foods are foods they don’t like. The amount of people in this comment section that are triggered because people do not like the same game they are obsessed with. I have never understood that, I don’t need other people to like something I love. Why would I care at all, it be one thing if it was something I actually created myself, but we are talking about video games created by massive companies in this video. Not everyone will like them in the same way not everyone like a particular movie that may or may not be very popular in the court of public opinion. Again, that is how opinions work.

I know that this is not a popular opinion, but I agree with Scott. I don't like Borderlands. Because everything is so level based, I never feel like I'm getting stronger because whenever I level up, so do the enemies. So even though level 1 me was doing like 10 or 12 damage and leveled up me does over 100K, I don't feel like I progressed at all because the enemy's health bar still goes down at more or less the same rate because they leveled up too. And yeah, you do get abilities and perks but after a certain point the grind for it is, in my opinion, unbearable. But if you dont agree that's cool. I just saw a lot of hate towards Scott and wanted him to know he's not alone. Love ya, dude.
Agreed on borderlands. It's so fun to see enemies spawn in exactly the same place and take exactly the same path over and over again, and you HAVE to go through those areas over and over again.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but RDR2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. With RDR2 I kept accidentally killing people and failing quests because the horse is a nightmare to control. And the Witcher...I just can’t get into it. I can’t get ahold of the combat, and I keep getting annoyed and rage-quitting.

Silent Hill: Downpour
A real shame for what could have been. A case where one level just ruined everything. Upon entering the last level you lose every single item you collected with no way of getting them back. The area around the trigger point that leads to the last level is full of fun side quests. Which was a neat addition and made the game a little more sand-boxy. But then when you start the cutscene and enter the last level you realize all of your time was a waste because of course all the rewards for your hard work are gone. It's a special slap in the face to players that used the side quests to stock up on healing items in anticipation of using them in the final area.
That whole series was too slow paced for me.

One can complete L.A. Noir by skipping the driving sections of missions, skipping the combat sequences, and failing literally every C.S.I. and interrogation section. It was beautifully rendered hot garbage.

Honestly kinda agree about Borderlands. I don't think it's a bad game, but it gets so frustrating. I've probably spent a good 150 hours in Borderlands 2 but have never completed it or even gotten too close as far as I'm aware.
The last time I put it in I was determined to beat it, but I spent like a week straight playing it and the grind is just aggravating. I got these completely overpowered set of weapons and I'm like "finally. I can cruise through levels for a fair bit and just enjoy myself" and then an hour later I'm emptying my whole fuckin stash of ammo into just 3 or 4 dudes and I already need new weapons. At a certain point that just isn't fun for me. I do enjoy mechanics like that in certain RPGs, but it just seems like every 20 minutes you need to upgrade your gear to get anywhere in the Borderlands games and I'm not there for it.
It's also just annoying because I do feel like I need to restart the game everytime I come back to it, because I open a save that's 6 months old or a year old and I have no clue what I'm doing, or where to go, and that's frustrating as hell. All of that combined together has made me sure that I'll never complete Borderlands.
Anyone except Sekiro, this game is my life now.

I regretted “Age Of Sail 2”; that game seemed to have more bugs than a Warner Bros animation festival.
For me, it’s Borderlands too. I remember my friend forcing me to buy this game so we can play it together. I bought it and he told me that we would play together this same afternoon. When I installed it and wanted to play it with him however, he told me that he can’t play right now. And suddenly on the screen his name pops up and ge plays singleplayer. So far, so asshole. I play it alone for some time. We actually however once played together and it was dreadful. He always pretended that I'm stupid cuz I didnt fully understand those game mechanics and he would shout at me and treat me like ass. And I really did not play it anymore since then...

Titan Fall 1. Spent 30 min playing and put it away after I realized the "campaign" was just multiplayer matches. Now, Titan Fall 2 on the other hand, put well over 100 hours into it.
I know this is old, but I'd really like to defend GR Wildlands dialogue. I actually thoroughly enjoyed walking around hearing the banter, some of those conversations are conversations I've actually heard or participated in while in the Infantry. The part that I think they're missing is the biting sarcasm in most of the bro lines. Like, the "piss in a cup" line has more to do with making a joke about how the military loves to do "random" drug tests immediately after people get back from leave, or locations where they could have used. The lines are more about being ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous, and saying tough things to keep moral high.

Yeah, same here. It gave me the feeling of "Eh, I don't DISLIKE or abhor what's going on so far and the intro scene was awesome so I guess it's fine" until a couple hours into it and I just reaaaaaaally started to love absolutely everything about that game to the point of obsession. It also helped that I could play it with my best friend very often, which is always better. A couple of playthroughs of the story and it got old but it still has that spot in which few games are held for me. That spot being "The spot where I mentally remember which games actually enamored me and I was able to to genuinely love despite regular depression/super strong ADHD actively trying to keep me heavily disinterested in almost every video game ever!" So yeah I like Borderlands. But I also see how others don't. It feels very repetitive and grindey, gameplay wise, if you're not enjoying the story and dialogue each mission brings to the table.
Fallout 76, Anthem, and Overwatch. Luckily I bought Overwatch physically and traded it a couple days later. People are definitely different because Overwatch hype, I just don't get it.
Overwatch is a fantastic game, it's just not your cup of tea. Fallout 76 and Anthem are buggy incomplete games that even IF they ARE your cup of tea, theyre still trash.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, literally regretted it in the opening cutscene and my friends were there to witness it and laugh at my misery, such good friends XD

it's a beautiful game, but damn it i hate that i agree with her. i just gotta come back to it later when my life is a garbage fire and everything is so anxious, because that game sets my brain on fire. in a good and bad way. really glad that it has the fanbase that it does though because even if its not for me, i love that it inspires such feverish devotion. it took me a while to warm to bloodborne, so i have hope that sekiro will grow on me, but holy cow do i suck.
I love Sekiro, but I can't play Bloodborne... I've beat the Shadows of Yarnham and never played it again... Got the Platinum for all 3 Dark Souls and then, Sekiro last week, but Bloodborne never clicked with me...
I really like dark souls but I hate sekiro because it just isn’t my style of fighting and it’s too linear of a story with not enough exploration.

Anthem. Yeah, that is my biggest regret. Honestly the only reason i bought it is because back in 2017 i really thought Destiny 2 was gonna be good. I thought that Bungie learned their lesson because the fanbase was actually pretty legit. Destiny 1 was disappointing at first but over the years it got better and the fans were giving actual honest feedback. Bungie knew exactly the kind of Destiny game we wanted and there was no reason for Destiny 2 to be bad, but yeah, I forgot about Activision and their greed. Destiny 2 was so horrible and greedy that when i heard about another looter shooter from EA i bought it out of spite. Wasting $60 on Destiny 2 pissed me off so much that I wasted another $60 for a game that keeps glitching and key people keep leaving the project.
Unfortunately, I was one of the one's who wasted $100 on it. I played it a lot when it first came out of course, but I haven't touched since like 3 months after release.

I regret buying civ 6. I love turn based games and I thought I would love it. I spent 3 hours on it and had no idea what I was doing, I broke the tutorial by building something a turn early and so it wouldn't progress. I don't think I ever got to the fun part of the game. The reason I regret buying it the most is I bought on the eShop so I couldn't get a refund so that's $60 down the drain.

Sonic 06 which I bought at full price brand new. At this point in time I knew no one who played sonic games at all, youtube wasnt a big thing for lets plays or reviews and I didnt spend much time on gaming review sites of anything, I just saw it on the shelf and was like "Oh boy, a new sonic game!" I loved Adventure 1 and 2 and even enjoyed Sonic heroes, so this seemed like the next logical step. That was the very last brand new full price game I ever bought from a store.

I hate to be the one to break this news to you, but that is kind of how opinions work. For example, I don’t like mayonnaise and as such I think it is a bad food condiment. Pretty self-explanatory, it kind of applies to a wide range of things. And yes, I genuinely think it such a bad product that I won’t eat an item that has mayonnaise on it. Do I think other people who like it are crazy? No, because that is how foods work. I am using food products as an example because I find it kind of amazing that with food everyone understands that everyone has their own taste and not everyone likes the same thing. But the commonality with most people’s list of “bad” foods are foods they don’t like. The amount of people in this comment section that are triggered because people do not like the same game they are obsessed with. I have never understood that, I don’t need other people to like something I love. Why would I care at all, it be one thing if it was something I actually created myself, but we are talking about video games created by massive companies in this video. Not everyone will like them in the same way not everyone like a particular movie that may or may not be very popular in the court of public opinion. Again, that is how opinions work.

Playing RDR2 after almost any other game is like reading Hamlet after Garfield, so that one's totally understandable.
I know that this is not a popular opinion, but I agree with Scott. I don't like Borderlands. Because everything is so level based, I never feel like I'm getting stronger because whenever I level up, so do the enemies.
So even though level 1 me was doing like 10 or 12 damage and leveled up me does over 100K, I don't feel like I progressed at all because the enemy's health bar still goes down at more or less the same rate because they leveled up too. And yeah, you do get abilities and perks but after a certain point the grind for it is, in my opinion, unbearable.
But if you dont agree that's cool. I just saw a lot of hate towards Scott and wanted him to know he's not alone. Love ya, dude.
Agreed on borderlands. It's so fun to see enemies spawn in exactly the same place and take exactly the same path over and over again, and you HAVE to go through those areas over and over again.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but RDR2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. With RDR2 I kept accidentally killing people and failing quests because the horse is a nightmare to control. And the Witcher...I just can’t get into it. I can’t get ahold of the combat, and I keep getting annoyed and rage-quitting.
