  • Boar's Head is our location for this video and we see the mighty 46233 Duchess of Sutherland tackling the 1 in 104 gradient up the bank.
The LMS Princess Coronation was hauling The Mid-Day Scot railtour from Manchester Victoria to Edinburgh Waverley. This is the first railtour in the North West since 17th February, so just over a month. The locomotive was operated by a DB Schenker crew due to West Coast Railway Company having been served a prohibition notice due to unsafe running over the past year.
Politics aside, crank up the sound, I suggest some headphones and listen to The Duchess pick up her feet climbing the gradient!
