I hate the fact that its not possible to get even 1 box for free… for a f2p player, this event is almost irrelevant. The littel credit booster is nice, it looks cool, but its worthless for me…
At least in the WT E110 event it was possible to get starters for free. I got the T 77 as my first tier VIII premium tank in 4 years.
My dad is pretty much addicted to this game (he's in his late 40's) and one of my favorite things was in 2019/2020 when he told me to open 5 boxes for him. Long story short, I ended up opening 2 tanks (Progetto 46 and 703, i believe) and 2 skins. I will never forget the suprise and joy on his face

You guys defied the odds big time. You got way more tier 8 tanks than would be expected when opening 700 boxes with a drop chance of 2.5%. According to your final tally sheet, between the 2 of you, you got 25 tier 8 tanks. The probability of getting 25 or more tier 8 tanks when opening 700 boxes, with a 2.5% drop chance, is only 3.4% and the probability of getting fewer than 25 tier 8 tanks is 96.55%.
Even with the 50 box guarantee, opening 700 boxes only guarantees you will get 14 tier 8 tanks. For players who don’t plan on buying at least 50 boxes, let’s say you only buy 25 boxes, the probability of getting at least 1 tier 8 tank is only 45.52%. To give yourself a 50/50 chance of getting a tier 8 tank, you would need to buy 29 boxes.
In terms of the 50 boxes guarantee, some people might be wondering how much of a benefit War Gaming is giving us. If we were buy 50 boxes without any guarantee, like every prior year, the probability of getting at least 1 tier 8 tank is only 70% or 7 out 10 when opening 50 boxes, each with a 2.4% drop chance. Put another way, for every 10 people who purchased 50 boxes without any guarantee, 7 players would get at least 1 tier 8 tank and 3 players wouldn’t get any tier 8 tanks.
For players who are hoping to defy the odds, the probability of winning more than 1 tier 8 premium tank out of 50 boxes is only 17.27%.
Yeah, did similar calculations before buying 45 boxes. Still bought. As a result, 3 tier VIII premium tanks dropped in first 30. (And probably all lower tier ones)
So me getting 4 t8 tanks in 75 boxes is even more rare?
I got 75 magic boxes. 4 T8 tanks, 5 low tier tanks, 4 3D styles, 25,000 gold plus lots of other goodies........ I am VERY happy.

One of my favorite things about christmas is watching cc's opening their loot boxes especially when you guys do it cause you are my favorite cc's
I bought 150 boxes as this year's bonus was higher than usual (normally get 75). This cost me £171.
I ended up with 64,500 gold which would cost £184 alone. On top of that I got 7.8m credits, 102 days of premium, all the skins, all the low tier tanks, three T8 premiums (Skoda on the 27th box) and straight to Atmosphere level 10.
And you have 171 (currency) less in your pocket. Good change... lol.
@@heavyweight6440 I never understand this attitude, as it is true of the purchase of any luxury item, and if you have spare money why not spend it on something you enjoy, hell I could easily spend that much on going out for a good meal and drinks at a restaurant and the following day all I have from that expenditure is a memory and a literal pile of shit.
@@tankicat This behaviour supports the way WarGaming creates the game. The more money you give them, the less they'll actually will give good input into the game. You see this with tanks like Bourrasque, Porgetto 46, 274a, 122TM, Skoda T56, etc. WarGaming brings highly potent tanks into the game, many people buy it (obv. because they have a veryyy stronk tank on Tier 8) but the meta gets fucked all over again. I do not really know how much fun Tier 8 will be for the next 1-2 Months. Tornvagn is the best example. Hulldown beast - you cant do anything against it with a tech tree Tier 8 Heavy frontally. It will outcalls you Hulldown since it has literally 0 weakspots on the turrent.
You know there was a time when WG released acutally fair and balanced Premium tanks like the Löwe. I own the Löwe. It has fallen behind because of the new meta (bigger, faster, further) but its still a cool tank which was released strong but fair. It had advantages and disadvantages. The only disadvantage the Tornvagn really has is if you do not play him hulldown...
I dont have a problem with people paying for "premium" tanks or premium stuff in general, thats completely fine and keeps the company that makes the game alive. I even did it myself often enough. The point is: people who pay for premium tanks are actively helping to destroy Tier 8 and the Meta in the game. WG wont stop to release extremely strong (almost overpowered) Premium tanks because people will always buy them and probably dont even make a thought about that.
Beside that: these lootboxes are literally gambling. CS:GO brought this up and now everybody is doing it. This is one of the faultiest things of the gaming industry.

With 171 (currency) you can do much more - there are even NEW electric guitars that are pretty good and perfect for beginners. You can start learning a life skill for 171 (currency). That is way better then some pixel tanks... always remember the game is F2P. WarGaming will shut this game down someday.

Oh and personally the nice meal or some pixel tanks are a better buy than an electric guitar as I have zero interest in learning a musical instrument, luxury items are pure "horses for courses", but that doesn't mean I belittle your choice to do so.
@@heavyweight6440 I should have mentioned that I had zero interest this year, last year or the year before in the tanks. I have a GSOR and a Bourasque from last year that I have never played, and am unlikely to play. I play the Progetto when my Cent 5/1 is still in battle when I'm doing a credit grind. I will probably never play the Tornvagn or the 122 TM. I might try out the Skoda, but I'm really a med/light player.
Last year's 75 boxes was the only money I spent on WoT until this season. It paid for Battle Pass and some crew retraining. I still had ~25 days of Premium when I bought the 150.
I will not have to spend a penny more until next year. £14.25 per month (£171/12) for my primary hobby is a bargain _personally_ . Last year was half that.
Remember that perceived value is exactly that. Would you say the same thing about spending £20 a week on beer? Because I spend a lot more than £20 a week on beer.

Wg is not providing us the drop rates because they want to but because they need to. They wont be able to sell boxes in most countries without drop rates because of laws.
I averaged about 650 gold per box. What you guys said was correct, I didn't end up with all the drops from the boxes (missing a couple of skins), but I have more than enough gold to last through 2022. You guys are wagering on a tier 9 for the final tank in the advent calendar, I'm thinking it's going to be the Strv K. Thanks for all the vids this week, and I'll be checking out Twitch for all the low tiers memes, especially KV-1 Trash!

well edvin was not kidding with the value. i brought 175 large new year boxes which cost me $310 aud, I GOT 110200 GOLD, i got all t8 premiums. 5 low tier premiums with 17 duplicates.
152 days of premium, straight to t8 atmoshphere because I haven't played since the Christmas event started. around 7.3m credits.
i definitely got my value that's for sure. (just found a statistic icon on what you have received with your boxes so now this is exactly what i got)

Ngl the 122TM is one of my favourite tanks in the game, it's really underestimated... was also my first tier 8 premium and i got it for free aswell so it really has a special place in my heart
I might not be as lucky as Zwhatsh, but this year, I managed to get two Tier 8 premiums from two boxes right after each other, I legit laughed out loud when I saw it happen.

Regarding the tier 9, WarGaming has licked blood with the K, we will see a lot more Tier 9 Premiums, but there are other Tier 9s still not in the game, so I guess they are going to be the next Rewards for tokens, like the lorraine 50t.

I bought 22 boxes (11 + 11) back in 2019; got a tier 5 premium tank (M4 Improved), 2 3D skins (AMX 13 105 & T110E4) and no tier 8s. It has been 2 years since and I have never spent any money on this game.

The drop chance for the Matilda must be much higher than the other lower tier tanks. Every CZcams creator I’ve seen open their 200 loot boxes got like 15 Matilda’s and only a few of each of the other low tier tanks.
I think it's funny that WG sells garage slots and they used to be limited enough for buying them to make sense, and now I have like 60 empty garage slots that I'm unlikely to fill

I bought 100 boxes, got the 4 new tier 8 tanks so was pleased. Sadly I'm not a huge fan of HT game play (love fast mediums) and bought it for the gold to fuel my use of the game for the coming year. Interestingly on day 1 of playing the tanks had huge run of good teams and MM so tons of wins. Day 2 of using them....well....all tier X matches and got wrecked a LOT as most are not particularly competitive. Oddly seem to be doing best in the Yo tank, probably because it was the only one fast enough to retreat when the teams got wrecked around me lol
This game is gonna be alien for me when I come back to it on February, at least I got my stock IS3 to fight in

Got all 5 tier 8 premiums within 30 boxes and 24k gold at the end. The only crap part is I don't have any crew members for my new tanks so oh well. Mostly got boxes for the gold so I can get some advent calendar tanks
I bought 75 and got the Bofors , M IV , Skoda T56 , Caliban within 25 crates and the rest was low tier tanks , gold and premium time along with decorations .

I bought 75 of these. Imo they are worth it. Got 28k gold (worth 93 euros), the skoda t56 and also 122tm. And also the premium days and 3 3d skins in addition to that.

Hello AEG’s, My take on the loot/holiday/try-your-luck/Be-the-fool-that-you-are boxes has the same effect upon the lil’ kids in us as the ‘grab the nickel instead of the dime because of it’s size and not its worth” thing. I thought last year’s boxes were presented more interesting. This year I received all of The new premium tanks from the Xmas boxes but like a yutz went ahead and purchased the New Year’s crates too AND the red and gold whatchamacallit boxes too. What a dumb ass I am. Not worth it. They’re fun, easy to whip out the credit card when you drink too much but when you get a good hard look at it you wish you didn’t do it.
I lost my shit when you two know the "Muh man!" line from the Czech crew, thought I was the only one who heard it as that.

I bought 25 boxes and I got extremely lucky, I got a 122 TM in my third box as well as all the small premium tanks. But I still don’t recommend buying them since it’s completely up to luck in what you get.
you know what also would be epic? if all those premiumtanks, which you got twice triple and so on would be able to be shared among the wot community instead of being transformed into goldvalue. so the receiving player could choose to give those tanks away as he or she pleases

@@AwesomeEpicGuys another idea would be , that goldammunition would be limited per tank to some shells, as an example if you could carry 70 shells in total , then at max 7 goldrounds for „balancing“ to encourage people to learn about weakspots.
I opened 100 boxes and got only 2 tier VIII's (YO-tenk and Bofors... kinda wanted the Caliban, not gonna lie), a lot of low tier premiums and only like 3 3D styles (i didnt get one for FV4004 and I'm so angry, because I didnt know how cool and fancy it is until I watched this video).
My opening was pretty underwhelming. I expected far more for this amount of money.
I bought 11 boxes and got absolutely nothing out of it. Three times it was 100k credits. I hope I'm smart enough to stop spending money on gambling 😬

I got pretty lucky with the boxes. I got 90 in total and I got all tanks including the tier 8s (never got the T56 and 122TM before), all styles (FV4005 is awesome) 40k Gold and 7 million credits. It was absolutely worth it for me
