I got one of these 3rd gen shuffles and am absolutely fascinated with but the battery is shot, I can plug it in and sync music but loses power immediately upon being unplugged. Soon I am gonna try to get a new battery and a pry tool and get this device going again. There is also a rare accessory that basically adds a shell to the device that contains the controls which lets you use any other headphones.

As far as I know, the 3 generation is difficult to disassemble, and the headphones on the market basically can't adjust the volume, which is worse

This thing sucked. The obsession with smallness went way too far. The ultimate example of form over function. Easily lost, no buttons on the device, boring look.
