Well... i use the finger test to check if the hook turns point down. Some hook types don't do that and turn with the point upwards when used with certain types of line or certain rigs. Also with the hooklink on a flat surface - table, if you lift the hookbait you can get a good idea about how your hook is doing it's job.
I’m pretty sure it works on Easter eggs and unicorn horns too

Honestly, I watch your video because they're entertaining, but you are always contradicting yourself in 1 little thing. First, you constantly said in many of your videos the you don't follow the traditional euro/ carp fishing stuff , the u do what works for you. And that's great actually, then you turn around and make a video like this just to make fun or proof for some reason what the more traditional carp anglers do is just a lie or simply not true.
If u do you like, u always say and u don't care what other guys do you wold have any reason to do a video like this.
You probably started carp fish using hair rigs and method feeder because u learn this from the euro carp videos so , who's lying 🤥?
Anyway dude just keep doing what you do, I don't think there's no reason why u have to proof the your way is the right or the best or whatever you catch lots of fish and that's what's all about. BTW, no hate or anything on this message is just an observation.
