    I like GM, I like the triplets (Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade),(ok Yukon and Tahoe) my opinion is that Yukon Denali is the best of three (ok, ok I surrender, Yukon Denali is the best car/track for families), one inch better to Tahoe, one mile better to Escalade. Cadillac is a “big boy” with customers that have “big wallets” but is competes to other “bigger boys” (In Luxury), BMW, Mercedes. Cadillac, of course, lose. BMW has the top interior quality and handling for an inch to Mercedes. Mercedes has the top (less) cabin noise and suspension comfort for an inch to BMW. Masterminds in GM in Cadillac division thought “Hmmm we have the Tahoe platform, we don’t get double glass as BMW/Mercedes, we don’t get foam as BMW/Mercedes, we have so big mass that moons orbitals to the car so don’t handles/brakes/performance but… let’s get 3 billion useless screens and…Bulls eye! There is luxury! Of course, we’ll pump the price 30k for tahoe or 25k for yukon I Know, I know within 6 months all this technology will be prehistoric BUT…..we have the unique and the strongest weapon…towing. So, millions of Doctors, executives, business wo-men, singers, actress/or they will have this special capability to tow in trailer tools, lumber, cement, heavy machines.” …. My opinion: Before X7, new GLS and new Navigator escalade was the only player so she was the best but now… no. Cadillac should decrease the price 10k-15k so will be completive to Lincoln (Escalade), Volvo (XT6), Genesis (XT5) or design a full size crossover.

      @johnls39 Před 3 lety +10

      What is the point of decreasing 10K-15K of the Escalade if you already have Yukon Denali. Did you not see the level of technology and engineering in the Escalade? A lot of the technical features you can't get in the Yukon Denali like soft-closed doors, AR screen, night vision, super-cruise, 38 inch OLED screen, AKG audio system with built in microphone and front passenger volume control, a refrigerator console storage, electronic door handles, exterior light show, ambient lighting and etc. The Escalade is on a different level of luxury from Yukon Denali which is an excellent vehicle in its own right. There is the reason why the Escalade is the default vehicle of choice in terms of luxury.

      @@johnls39 Thank you for your reply friend! Top luxury brands objected are Rolls Royce and Bentley, Phantom doesn’t have light dance, doesn’t have super-nannies as supercruise (illegal of course because no brand wants that responsibility, my guess is that Volvo or Mercedes will step up, my guess again) augment reality (two years ago Mercedes, one year Genesis but is useless a l t h o u g h new S Class is useful because projects arrows to windshield). Flying Spur instead of have 40inch display they cover the screen. They have perfect suspension for comfort, perfect quality materials (wood, leather, aluminum E V E W H E R E), they have so much noise cancelation that to new Ghost, alpha and beta testing drivers complained that they want little noise instead of zero. The logic was that is insane to cruise to a highway and you hear NOTHING, no tires, no wind, no cars etc Of course the engineers decrease little cancellation so they hear…something. Their engines are turbocharged V12/W12 with performance of one-decade supersport car. Comfort as driving on clouds, perfect materials, driving in a cocoon and faster that Mustang. This is luxury!
      All the premium brands, European (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Range Rover), Japanese (lexus, Ininfity), Korean (Genesis) and last but no least domestic (Cadillac, Lincoln) design their cars to close the gap to RR, B. between quality and…interstellar cost/price difference.
      One law of nature tells that, no, no, nature imposes that track base vehicle on frame don’t has the comfort, the mass, the handling-brakes- performance….luxury, as the unified body, if you have nature for enemy, I swear that you lose.
      In the States the top dog Yukon fully equipment costs 90K (88.990$). The top dog Escalade fully equipment costs 120k (118.450$) 30k difference not 10-15. The top dog X7 M50 fully equipment costs 120k, 117k actually and X7 x40i 95k (94.500$). The fully equipment GLS450 costs 90k (91.400k, Mercedes, in the States again, is 30k cheaper of Cadillac!
      Believe me, I want Cadillac to be a pioneer in luxury (not only screens), the prestige that deserves until design an Escalade from scratch, tabula rasa, a full size crossover, it don’t deserves 120k as X7 M50.

      @@SeitaridisGeorge Thanks for your response Giorgos, The standard Escalade for '21 starts at $77K but only the Luxury model will make up 10% of all Escalade sales. The Premium Luxury and Sport start in the mid $80K range with RWD but majority of them can be optioned past $100K. Only the ESV Platinum will cost $120k with every available feature.
      The X7 M50 is a great choice also and it will get better in the next generation model but just like the top trim Platinum, only 30% of the top trims make up the purchase of the flagships. I was a bit surprised that the X7 rode firmer than the Escalade ESV but the X7 is a sportier model in spite of it being a unibody model.
      People like to knock and take jabs at the Escalade but people seems to forget that the Tahoe is a full-size SUV with a premium price tag that is already expensive where most people can't afford it which is priced like a midsize luxury sedan around $50k-$60K. The Denali has an advantage if you don't care for the Escalade and just want a value proposition with this vehicle but in all truth of honesty, anyone who can purchase a top spec'd Denali can purchase a top spec'd Escalade also. Also, the Escalade is so advanced technically, there is no reason for this vehicle to be under $100K.
      The Escalade is not perfect but no vehicle is that start at $100K but what matter most is the complete package and that flagship far exceed your expectations. For flagship luxury like this, it is a norm nowadays that the flagships will have $100K price tags and only 10%-20% flagships make up the volume of the brand. The flagships are used to lure the buyer in and also look at other models beneath the flagships for potential purchase.
      There will be a three row crossover in RWD that is electric beneath the RWD Escalade EV. There will be a V Series Escalade model coming out also that will be $100K plus.
      Also a cool fact to remember is that the Escalade is thought of first on a new truck platform before Chevy and GMC engineers put the finishing touches on their respective brands. Just like the 5th generation Escalade, the 4th. generation was thought of first in design and engineering which is basically obvious if you look at the creases and some styling elements that looks like some Cadillac touches on the previous generation Tahoe and Yukon.

      What’s the advantage besides off-roading? The X7 still has more ground clearance.. locking diff electronically with the off-road package. So in terms of this class of Luxury SUVs, the X7 is close to a proper suv. And on the road the X7 performs (obviously) much better. BMWs towing capacity is 5,900lb with the bmw towing package if you upgrade your tow hitch with the German BMW OEM hitch it’s increased to 7,500lb.. lol so the most crossover of the 2 could potentially be the most truck like here.

    Surprisingly a Defender has a better residual value of 45%. Now You do the math.
    I confronted someone at the dealership and after some tossing and turning one of them admitted that all their X lineups (X7,X5 etc barring the X3) has serious depreciation the moment you walk out of the dealership because of their perceived poor long run reliability and super high maintenance cost.

    The Escalade is a great domestic people hauler but the quality of materials and build quality GM has available isn’t in the Germans league. Plastic manual flip seats in the second row with the Cadillac??? Look at all the plastic seat controls and simulated metal GM uses and it says it all. Yea a loaded BMW X7 M50i is in the $130k range but it shows. Let’s be real,...nobody with real money that is in this high end market buys a Chevy over a BMW or MB. People that cross shop a Cadillac Escalade are looking more at the Asian counterparts like Infinity or domestic equivalent Lincoln.

    Your video had a leaning undertone bias against the Escalade from the beginning. You even made it appear that the Escalade had limited leg room in the second row...lol Nice facial expressions. If you aren't comfortable with a big SUV, then you shouldn't be comparing the two SUVs. But then you went as far as to label the BMW an SUV, as if the Escalade is not...Ha!! GTFO. Escalade has been around since 1999, the BMW JUST entered the full size market. One day you may wish you had that extra space that you complain about, if you ever get into a head on collision. Stick to comparing crossovers and various grocery getters. We all see your bias here.

    Let me school you a little bit. The augmented reality is there so when navigation is used the arrows point to the exact place you are to turn and more importantly used for the night vision option. You need to learn more about the vehicles you review. The BMW is better for handling and the cadillac is more for cruising. And the Escalade offers a real frig and the surround sound blows away the X7. The X7 is like the X5, but slightly larger, but much more expensive without being able to really add a 3rd person to 3rd row...sorry BMW, but cadillac all around takes it...more like it's giving it to you. Come up with an X8 that can give us a real 3rd row seat and real usable trunk for full size luggage like the ESV, which stands for the (E)xtra (S)pace make the Escalade (V)ictorious!

    I heard that the 2025 Escalade based electric full size suv that will share it's platform with the GMC Hummer Ev might have 1,000hp like the hummer or less and will have couch door like Roll Royce maybe and interior elements similar to the cadillac lyriq which is a luxury killer to me. All that might of might not be true. I would have the 2021 cadillac Escalade because it feels more special while the X7 is just a normal BMW that feels luxury but doesn't feel that special compared to a X5. But I would just have a minivan lol.

    Kind of humorous hearing BMW guy getting practical when they have to compare their tech set to the Escalade. "We don't need that feature anyway." If I'm a boulevard cruiser with little kids and won't hold onto the vehicle for long, I probably go BMW. You worry less about the high depreciation rate in the BMW and the higher cost for repairs after the warranty expires. If I might get into some dirt and might hold onto it longer, I'd probably go for the Caddy. In my real world, I probably go for the Denali or the AT4.

    Best review by far hands down 👏. It is a tough decision that caddie did its home work but I would definitely choose the X7 m50 sport Package and the reason is ☝️1 its much faster, 2 better handling, 3 better technolgy especially the third row seat and and the functionality with touchscreen key fob, 4 the aggressive look on the X7 sport Package, 5 you don’t have to have a humongous garage to park it into and 6 you can lower and raised the vehicle and when your driving above 50 the vehicle automatic lower to give you better handling. But I think the Escalade is going sell more because its a lot cheaper than the x7 m50 and cargo is much bigger and it has more towing capability than the x7 and caddie is America top luxury big suv hands down.

    • @fldiverjc4496
      @fldiverjc4496 Před 2 lety

      I wouldn't necessarily say the caddie is the best luxurious American suv hands down....actually it had very stiff competition from thr lincoln navigator and the new jeep grand wagoneer.
      Thr lincoln I believe offers heated and ventilated seats for all 3 rows as opposed to just 2 rows for the caddie. Lincoln offers massaging seats in first 2 rows as opposed to caddies just 1st row. And lastly the lincoln has more horsepower and torque and tows more.
      So how can you say the caddie is more luxurious??
      Also the caddie has 15 way adjustable seats...the lincoln has 30.
