Secondly, it will block your communications, in one way or another. If you saw the film 'Apocalypse now', the scene where they had music on was a chopper attack. It had a purpose, but an infantry assault is waaaaaaaay not the same.
coming from a guy with more campaign medals than you have fingers on a single hand, once the fight starts, good coms are important yes, but there is nothing wrong with some good background to raise morale. i was a Tanker (armored cav) attached to an infantry batt, we used to play music all the time, mysecondary duty was as company armorer, when they found out i was a gunsmith before i signed up they made me batt armorer, after the snipers saw how i could shoot they dragooned me, so my tanker ass ended up playing infantry sniper (without the infantry training, but i had some good teachers) and even when i was doin infantry shit, we would blare music. once shit hits the fan, comms dont mean too much, shit happens to fast in a fire fight, morale on the other hand, can mean everything
