  • In this episode of Into the Mountains I go to Chamonix with the plan to ski my lives steepest couloir but due to avalanche danger we had to change the plan and focus on learning about how to navigate around on glaicers and learn how to crevasse rescue. Performing a crevasse rescue is rather complicated and needs to be trained with a professional Mountain Guide like Dave. My hope for this content is to show all the training and practise it takes to hopefully inspire you to also take mountaineering classes or days out with guides to learn. Stay safe and be well! Thank you @DaveSearle and look forward to ski something steeper next time.

How can it be that i missed this video...!
    Great work from you both!
Thought that using the cloth hitch (Mastwurf) during the pulling is a very nice way to do it. Haven't learned it like this myself, but where I learned it was on a small path in a climbing area, so no way of doing it with walking. Instead we built one more pully.

Great video thanks for that! Was wondering if you guys could at some point this season make a simple „Basic first aid“ video covering what do to in the event of an accident on the slopes? There are several great videos covering avalanche rescue but skiing first aid is rather poorly covered. Keep up the great work!

I had training for that but as it's said if you dont practice you loose it. Anyway great series I feel motivated to go back to that and do some practice.
    Good luck with your journey!
