I found this album in 2015 when I was dealing with paralyzing PTSD. I decided to move to another city where I knew no one and had trouble sleeping initially. I listened to this album almost daily to rest before bed for my first year. Now, I am on an entirely different continent, and someone nearby at the park was playing the album to a friend. I can't describe the feeling of listening to it again nine years later. But my eyes are misty and need ice cream definitely.
i (female) saw a really pretty boy tonight in a cafe (which i didn't like going to till today), pretty in my eyes; he was wearing a plaid shirt (dark green and black) with glasses and the same kind of haircut as the boy in this movie. but with a few white hair in between. beautiful soft hands playing a board-game with a friend. i watched him. he knew i was looking at him but probably didn't like me back. idk. but he knew and tried to look pretty. this album really feels like the feeling i have right now. i feel defeated but also good to feel such soft feelings. it's good to be young and alive. :)
I remember thinking after Humbug it'd just be heavier music and that the really amazing ballads might be behind. Then when this came out I was just floored. It still impresses me even now, over all the years
Amazing album. Really shows Alex Turner’s ability as a songwriter. A lot of the time the more mainstream Arctic Monkeys songs are very commercial and made to be catchy and popular and make money (which is fair enough from a business perspective), but this album sounds like it’s had real time and passion put into it. Really amazing stuff.
POV you went to the school they filmed it in and u lost all your friends there and your best friend sato you’ll never know how much this flimsy means to me thank you and the music makes me feel better about what happened

I live, eat, and breathe the submarine ep. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it :)

The only bad thing about this album is that it’s too short 🥺
I just listened to it over and over and over. 😂❤
😊😊😊😊😅
That's what adds to its beauty
its because its not an album, its an EP.
@renatito_pro whats an EP?
Soundtrack of my life. This EP has seen me through many years
Alex Turner be like:
2010: "I'm not that kind of fool who's gonna sit and sing to you about stars, girl"
2018: Star Treatment
God damn you, Turner.
