The 14th episode of Tapasya highlights the significance of dance in a dancer's journey, from a toddler to an adult.
Tapasya - the training sessions, is a series of videos that will be published on a monthly basis (as episodes) on the last day of every month.
The students featuring in Tapasya series have about 6-8 classes every month. Each episode of Tapasya is a cumulative overview of what is taught to them during the course of the month.
Along with the training sessions of the children, Tapasya also holds inputs on teaching techniques from Smt. Sheela Unnikrishnan and useful tips from the regular performers of Sridevi Nrithyalaya.

Since SDN is run by SRIDEVI NRITHYALAYA TRUST, all the productions of SDN, be it music or dance, become intellectual property of the Trust. Sridevi Nrithyalaya Trust (SDNT) owns all the productions and will not allow anyone to download or use SDN videos/audios, even if it is meant for non-commercial purposes.

We work hard and spend a good time and amount of our resources to produce our music and dance videos. They are produced and uploaded on our social platforms solely to take our art to all those rasikas around the globe who are unable to reach us in person to enjoy SDN's art live.
It is not about 'misuse' or 'trying to support' our dance and audio productions by just giving credits. Art is for all, for sure. Our productions uploaded on social media platforms are for the art lovers worldwide to WATCH and ENJOY but definitely not for copying or reproducing without SDNT's authorisation.
SDNT has unanimously arrived at this decision and therefore, SDN or any individual from SDN would not be able to grant anyone permission to reproduce any of our works.
All the productions of Sridevi Nrithyalaya are intellectual properties (Aural & Visual) of SRIDEVI NRITHYALAYA TRUST solely. Any person or channel infringing our copyright policies (which are mentioned in the description box in our CZcams videos) will be given a 'copyright strike' which we might not be able to redeem at any cost. - Zábava
Whatever , I don’t see any smiles anyone’s faces, any talent shouldn’t be developed under pressure and that jus kills creativity, the very reason I developed disdain towards the so called obedience conditioning
To get their attention & extract the work from children, we need to be little strict at least when they are learning... teaching them the basic discipline is now the responsibility of any fine arts institution as nowadays schools fail to inculcate it.
after class hours we can be friendly and play & chat with them...
No enough pressure for the kids. This is exactly the reason US produced so many thugs that can't even do multiplication and division after "high school"

Bharatanatyam is an art and the guru needs to be strict during the learning stages(especially when we learn thadav and natadav), critising does help a lot. Perfection, body posture and beauty can only be attained when they push us to the core. When I was at the stage of learning thadav and natadav my guru used to hold a stick on top of our heads to make our aramandi perfect and I can proudly say that is the only reason my dance has improved. So, please do not criticize the guru's hardwork.

It is so nice to know that there are teaches like her teaches the traditional way. The kids are so young and it is not an easy training but they will thank her in the future≥
This dance is not easy. When the pros dance, it looks effortless. But, this dance is hard and hard on the body. Overtime the body becomes more flexible. Great to see there are teachers like you dedicated to this art and to preserve the glory of Bharatanatyam for generations to come.
I do Bharatnatyam and it is nice but a bit difficult, not so much difficult.

Many dance gurus don't share thr knowledge as thy feel very insecure n selflessness rules more. Thy use to teach only thr own children not students but u are a teacher wr u spread ur knowledge for evryone. Olden days dance teacher s use to be lk u doing service selflessly, that's what u are successful in ur field.

I love Baharatnatyam ❤️🙏 Yes, it's hard, what isn't in this life? Baharatnatyam is a discipline. You work hard and it will reward you. When I watch a show I feel like a Maharaja because as far as I know Baharatnatyam was only performed for Royalty in their huge, beautiful and elaborate palaces. I am priveleged to see this dance live here in Dunedin, New Zealand.. We have a Baharatnatyam dance school. They give performances now and again & I love them.

I finished the basic level of Bharatnatyam and was going to move to the intermediate level but I had to drop because I got transferred. After that I never got the chance to learn Bharatnatyam again. I am 30 but it is my life goal to finish the intermediate and advance level of Bharatnatyam.
