New Balance 991v2 Description
Since its original release in 2001, the 991 has been synonymous with superlative quality. As the first 99X model of the 21st century, the original 991 set the standard for modern running design. The MADE in UK 991v2 represents a new pinnacle, with an evolved take on this genuine icon. A streamlined take on a classic pigskin suede, mesh, and synthetic upper offers a sleeker overall profile, while retaining a familiar look. The most notable technological change is the addition of full-length FuelCell cushioning. This update mirrors the upperâs evolved yet familiar approach by pairing the updated construction with classic ABZORB SBS pods and ENCAP features.
Product Details
The updated design elements are not novelty for its own sake. Each tweak is carefully considered and intended to elevate both the visual and on-foot experience. The subtle change in shape to the upperâs paneling is intended to better showcase the premium pigskin suede, while the teal ABZORB SBS utilized is sourced from an archival 998 colorway. went on a trip to tokyo walking around for 2 weeks in the 990v6 and my feet was never sore. highly recommend that shoe for constant traveling and walking around. however, i do love the look of the 991v2 and will definitely cop a pair! thank you for comparing the two and sharing your video and thoughts!
The 991v2 is just a good looking silhouette on and off foot. I'm sure the 990v6s are comfy on foot, but I just don't like the look of them. Thanks for the review.

Thank god for this video, I almost bought the V2 but thanks to your comment about the tongue (I hate it when my pants get caught behind it like with the 2002 protection packs) and I think I will fork over an extra 100 and go for a JJJJound 991.
I bought the 990V5 in grey and loved them and then bought the 990V6 navy blue and love them. So comfortable with great support and you can buy in size and width. I wear a 11 1/2 EE a perfect fit for me. I would highly them.

I find the upper more comfortable / shaped to my feet on the OG 991. The heel softness is obviously more comfortable on the 991v2 but it's minimal, esp compared between 990v5 and v6. v6 is a huge difference.
I think theyâre both awesome pairs, in the classic NB gray specifically I definitely think the 991v2 looks better. Iâm gonna try and grab the stone island collab on secondary market now that the prices seem to be dropping slightly đ

Hey Hes! I donât know why the GR 991v2 doesnât have the Uk flag at the back but the stone island pair I have has the flag. Hopefully they do the other colorways with the UK Flag
The 991v2 has been removed from the site, do you think they are in the midst of restocking them?
The v6 is too athletic looking for a daily/casual pair of shoes. Thatâs why I prefer the V2 or OG 991. My 993's are still looking fresh and going strong, but when the time comes I know what I'll be upgrading to.
For my pinky toe to not be smashed I need the 6e which the 990v6 actually comes in. It's rare to find a shoe that is wide enough for me.
I'm loving the 991v2, the only downfall for me is the large branding on the tongue... I'd also like a different color.
The 991v2 might be my favorite New Balance design. The UK team really outdid the US with this one. With that being said, I have a good feeling that we'll see a 992v2 in the near future.

I do own 1906r which I bought first and later on bought 990v6. Atm I do own 2 pairs of 990v6 and in my opinion they're way more comfier than 1906r.
I have the 990v6 and they are without a doubt the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned. I do think that the 991v2 is a slightly better looking shoe. 11:55
What colors will be expected for the 991v2? Visually they are so much better than 990v6. But I have enough NB greys for now
For my feet the 990v5 is really not great. My foot shape just doesn't go well in it. The v3 on the other hand is mad comfortable to me.

I usually wear a Menâs US 10.5 in New Balance 990v3. For the 991v2 I tried on a US10.5Menâs in the New Balance store and they were too long for my feet. I found that a half size down to size 10 in the 991v2 fit perfectly for me.
991 is the OG.

991v2 wins the aesthetic category. The small N logo fits it perfectly. The 990v6 is too athletic / sporty for me in terms of looks.

I definitely prefer the 990v6
990V6 is more all around shoe. You can wear for travelling and use it at every time eventually also at the gym away from home. 991 is more dressy, less all round and more winter shoe due to the more suede. If I have to choose only one model I would go for 990V6 because is a 360degress shoe.
I prefer Made In Vietnam, same but 100 bucks cheaper
7:56 they integrated just a bit of fuelcell and a different density/formulation at that since 990/1 arenât for runners, but theyâre more of a lifestyle shoes now. For runners like myself, we need a different, softer formulation of the fresh foam x / fuelcell midsole. Just run, bruh. You have all these nice shoes, and you donât run. The shoes are being wasted
